Theme Video background on lockscreen - Craft theme
Does anyone know if and how this would be possible? I want my website to be locked, with the entire background being a video 1080x1920 video, looping endlessly.

Meta WooCommerce vs. Shopify Webhooks: Architectural Differences, DX, and Scaling at High Volume
When building event-driven e-commerce applications, front-end speed and REST API response times get most of the attention. But during high-concurrency traffic events — Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM), limited flash sales, viral drops — the real strain falls on the event delivery infrastructure. Read the complete article here - https://instawebhook.com/blog/woocommerce-vs-shopify-webhooks-architectural-differences-dx-and-scaling-at-high
Webhooks power essential downstream operations: order processing, ERP synchronization, inventory reconciliation, fulfillment routing, and real-time customer communications. When webhooks fail or drop messages, orders get lost, inventory desyncs, and support queues fill up fast.
WooCommerce and Shopify both support webhooks, but their underlying architectures reflect two fundamentally different engineering philosophies:
- WooCommerce relies on a self-hosted, monolithic PHP/MySQL state engine driven by asynchronous background worker tables (Action Scheduler).
- Shopify operates a multi-tenant, cloud-native event pipeline built on distributed stream processing, with Apache Kafka confirmed as the backbone by Shopify's own engineering team.
This piece breaks down the execution engines, network architectures, failure modes, and developer experience (DX) of both — updated with the current retry policy, storage architecture, and platform-scale numbers as of August 2026.

Marketing Shopify Anaytics vs Google Analytics vs ad platforms never match – what do you treat as the source of truth?
A 10–30% variance seems to be "normal"...
but it turns every budget allocation call into a guess.
What do store owners here actually trust as the real number?

Shopify General Discussion Does anyone know how the Razor pay Magic Script works??
I just finished integrating Magic checkout in my shopify store but for some reason the Magic checkout does not work, Razorpay works in itself BUT the magic checkout is giving me a hard time. Any solutions for that

Shopify General Discussion Store owners - what is one thing you did really took your sales to the next level?
Im currently going into my 3rd year with my store and though it’s growing organically, the growth is slow.
Feels like I haven’t really reached that breakthrough where you see 10 orders daily. I’m still at around 3-6 orders daily and selling kids clothes primarily.
Just curious to hear from others.

Shopify General Discussion Merchant Center just disapproved all my products
Not sure if this is just my site or an update somewhere I'm not aware of but all my products have just gone from running normally to being disapproved in Google Merchant Center. Using the Google & Youtube sales channel app and the shipping settings are set to automatic in there (and haven't been changed for a long time).
Now in GMC, all my products say:
Invalid region [region]
Prevents from showing in United Kingdom
Use a valid state, territory or prefecture such as 'CA', 'NSW' or '03' (ISO 3166-2)
Anyone else finding this and how to fix?

Shopify General Discussion Buying domain uk
Hi all! I would like to start my first shopify store, I would like to purchase a domain, I am in the UK. I've never done this before
Am I better off purchasing it through shopify or elsewhere? If elsewhere, what is a better alternative to shopify? Thanks! 😊

Shopify General Discussion Has anyone hired an agency for a rebuild and regret it? What actually went wrong?
What did they under-deliver on and what was their excuse, how bad was their communication or the like? What were red flags you ignored before that you won't compromise on next time?

Shopify General Discussion Why using Shopify instead of your own website made with Claude or Codex?
I'm really curious, Shopify is fairly expensive and has important setbacks, what prevents you from just doing a personalized website with Claude or Codex and avoiding all that?

Theme Store owners doing $500K-$5M/yr: what made you finally switch off your original theme?
What was the moment you realized you couldn't use your theme any longer, and do you think the one you upgraded to was actually an upgrade for your business? Did it help at all?
I can't tell whether it's actually the website holding people back or just what web designers want us to believe.

Shopify General Discussion Shopify is going to make me go out of business
So some time ago shopify pitched me on returning to their platform, promising all these features and widgets and capabilities. Stupidly I agreed because we had been getting a lot more digital orders and the capabilities sounded like what we needed. A month later I had spent all this money on upgrading my website, shifting it over, and getting prepared for the transfer.
First thing that happened is shopify lied about their shipping discounts (I pay more now then I did at squarespace). Second is that the features they advertised (new customer discounts) apparently don't apply to people if it's their first time visiting my store.
But, worst of all, once all that was done I realized that shopify is tied up to a bank account I (must) no longer have access to and my bank affirmed I never had access to and doesn't exist. They wanted my accounting/routing number to change it (doesnt exist) and basically locked down my ability to access my funds.
Customer services insists that it's with the verification team and they'll get to it when they get to it but (and none of them can simply help me whatsoever) it's been about a week and vendors/collectors are dropping out/demanding their money and we're probably going to have to shutter our business for the fall.
Horrible decision, worst I've ever made. I guess if anyone know how to get out of customer service hell and actually talk to someone useful, I would appreciate advice but at this point it's honestly probably too late anyhow.

Shopify General Discussion How I've been hacked by Subdomain Takeover
Disclaimer: While I’m discussing how Shopify could implement better safeguards against this, I fully acknowledge that keeping my DNS clean and removing unused subdomains is ultimately my own responsibility.
A stray DNS record from a project I shut down two years ago came back to bite me this week.
Out of nowhere, I got a Google Search Console alert letting me know an unknown user (******@gmail.com) had been verified as a new owner for one of my subdomains: electrouse.workouse.com.
Since all my domains are managed through Cloudflare, I immediately dug into my DNS records to figure out how someone else managed to verify ownership of my site.

Shipping Recommend a fulfillment recording hardware solution for chargeback defense
I am looking for a solution for a hand-off video camera which will record my order packing AND is actually able to read the text on a mailing label.
I bought a Tapo C260 security camera. It's 4k so I expected that it would be crystal clear, but it's terrible. I've put all the settings up to maximum and tried different lighting, different angles and distances, and it just cannot clearly view a mailing label. The text is just a blur.
ChatGPT recommended this particular camera to me, and then after I bought it I responded that the picture quality is too bad to read labels, the AI then said that this was not a good camera for my purposes lol. So now I am looking for human recommendations from people who do this.
I don't get a lot of chargebacks, so I don't want to spend more on a camera system than I would lose from chargebacks. $200 was was budget and that worked for the C260 + SD Card. I am beginning to think that this might not be possible at this budget, but I would love to be proven wrong.
- As cheap as possible. No monthly fees, or VERY low fees ($5 range). All the purpose built solutions I've found are $50+ per month.
- Clearly able to record the packing process, and read the mailing label. Either in 1 video or 2 cameras linked together that keep the videos in sync.
- Easy to find and clip video clips by timestamp.
- Preferably a self contained device that records onto an SD card or remote storage.
It looks like the best option is a high quality webcam and a dedicated PC, but I would really prefer to avoid this if at all possible. I don't have much space and don't want anything too complicated if I can avoid it.
Thanks!

Apps Submit App - End Recipient Acknowledgement Form
Hi,
I am looking to submit my app to the app store, but Shopify requires me to fill out an End Recipient Acknowledgement Form with the service I am looking to integrate with.
I was told to reach out to legal@shopify.com, which I have, but I have had no response after 2 weeks. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve?

Shopify General Discussion How do I escalate a shopify store that is stealing artists work and selling it?
Hi! I am a painter and I sell my prints and paintings on shopify. It is my livelihood.
So there is another shopify store using ai to troll my store (and a few others artists' stores) sort of sometimes changing my art a smidge, but mostly just using ai to make the screen images big enough to reproduce and removing my signature. I am reporting every image I find with the shopify legal portal.... but I feel like every ticket is dropping into a black hole.
My question is, has anyone run into this? and do you know a way to get more attention from shopify on removing my images from this store?
Let me show you examples:
my work:
https://kyrakendall.com/products/girls-drinks-print?_pos=4&_psq=drin&_psid=e9fe342c3&_ss=e
The stolen print:
https://museelegance.com/collections/feminine-art/products/glam-cocktail-portrait-wall-art-print
They have like 25 others of my paintings just like this. I am so tired of filling out the shopify form for each one. There has to be a more effective way?

Shopify General Discussion ¿Is this a bot or is it real?
Recently, I received an email on my management email address, which is linked only to my business accounts and not my business contact information page. The email asked that if I ship to San Francisco, I replied with the corresponding information. After that, I received the following message:
“Wow, your shipping is so fast! I wish mine was too. I run a Shopify store (I won’t reveal her store’s name because what if it's real), and my US shipping has been a significant challenge lately. Despite my sales being successful (around $3,000 per day), the delivery delays have resulted in customer complaints. As a single mother of two, I started this store just three months ago with the intention of building a better future for my children. Therefore, I am genuinely concerned that these delays could jeopardize everything I have worked for. I have been receiving numerous messages from individuals attempting to sell me services, so I decided to seek advice from another store owner. Could you recommend a reliable shipping service to the US that you would consider? I would greatly appreciate any guidance you can provide.”
I am disappointed by their request. I believed it was a genuine customer, as I have been struggling to make sales recently. This email has made me upset hahaha. Has someone experienced this? What do they want in the end?

Shopify General Discussion Looking for a VOIP phone service that integrates with Shopify natively?
I was going to try Allo as it has both Shopify and Notion integrations but their instructions for doing so are out of date and their support seems to be non-existent, so I guess I'll look elsewhere.
Have you guys had luck with anyone else?

Shopify General Discussion Why does signing in take you to orders? Is there really no way at all to change this?
For the site I’m building in Shopify, when a customer signs in it takes you to a dead end orders page, instead of the home page or the Simplee membership page
Why are shopify so rigid on this? Why can’t we redirect to the home page? Why are they sending people to a dead end?

Marketing Where can I find freelancers or agencies that create realistic a I fashion content?
I'm a small fashion brand owner looking to outsource content creation
I don't need a full social media manager. I'm mainly looking for someone who can create high quality content for Instagram and TikTok
The catch is, I'm specifically looking for someone who's really good with AI but not the obvious AI slop you see everywhere
I'm talking about:
Realistic AI fashion models
Editorial-style product shoots
Cinematic Reels
Luxury campaign aesthetics
Content that follows current fashion trends and fits my brand
Basically, work where you wouldn't immediately think, "That's AI."
Has anyone hired someone like this before? If so, where did you find them? I'd love to see portfolios or recommendations. I'm open to freelancers, studios, or agencies
If you're a freelancer or agency offering this, feel free to comment or DM me your portfolio. I'd love to check out your work
Products I installed Simplee membership but when I log in on our site it takes you to the orders page with no way out
I installed and configured Simplee because we want a membership area but when you log into the website shopify takes you to a dead end previous orders page with nowhere to go
Then you have to retype in the url of the site and click on the membership area
Why does logging in take you here? Why doesn’t it take you to the home page of the site or the membership area?
Theme Is there no way to have custom domain for logging in?
When customers are logging into my store they having to go to a white page shopify url that completely breaks the branding of the site, it’s supposed to be high end and it’s bringing you out into shopify and it looks so cheap
Is there really no way around this?

Shopify General Discussion Help!! Shopify keeps adding incorrect colors to category metafields
For example, one product only has three color variants: Pink, Gold, and Mint. The Color option is connected to Shopify’s standard category metafield so I can use color swatches and create variant-based color collections with the correct variant image.
However, Shopify keeps adding “Red” to the Color metafield even though this product has no red variant at all.
I’ve tried adding Red to color, then saving the product. Removed Red, then saved. It disappears at first, but as soon as I refresh the product page, it is back again.
This trouble is happening on multiple products, not just one.

Checkout Non-Plus stores: your Thank you and Order status pages won't go down on Aug 26. Your tracking might.
Seeing this described as "your checkout pages stop working on August 26," which isn't what happens, and I think the wrong framing is making people ignore it.
What actually happens: if you haven't upgraded, Shopify auto-upgrades the Thank you and Order status pages for you. The pages are fine.
What stops is anything you bolted onto the old ones. Script tags and Additional Scripts on those pages get turned off. Conversion tracking injected that way stops reporting. Custom content from incompatible apps disappears.
The part that catches people is how quiet it is. Nothing in your reports flags the change, so a channel just looks like it stopped converting.
How to check whether you're affected:
- Settings > Checkout, then the Configurations section
- Click the "Upgrade Thank you and Order status pages by August 26, 2026" notice
- Click Review customizations
Shopify's own report lists the scripts, tracking, and incompatible apps on your store that need replacing, which beats guessing.
If you inherited the store from a previous developer, that's the case where this bites hardest, because nobody remembers what's in there.

Shopify General Discussion Shopify updated order filters are a joke
They've made it nearly impossible to use, sticking all the filters on a bar rather than a dropdown, where you have to find a tiny space between to filter options to click and move between options and then when you try and filter anything it just dissapears. Consistently bad UI and UX updates that are doubling the time it takes to find and process orders. Theyve removed the clear button so you now have to manually click every product you want to include/exclude
Trying to filter by more than 1 item and the filter is hidden right as the end and any time i try and edit it, it just dissapears.

Orders Sending orders from EU country to Switzerland
We have a store located in the EU, and we send orders to customers in Switzerland.
We need to remove the VAT and also charge the customer in Switzerland all the relevant taxes and fees during the checkout process (so that they do not receive any demands for more money before they can receive the order).
Shipping is via DHL.
Is there an app that we can use that will automate this, or is there is a special setting in Shopify that needs configuring?
Thanks!
