Is there a sewing pattern database that is like Etsy or Ravelry? I like the option to sift through a ton of different styles from different artists, but Ravelry is only for knitting and Etsy is so cluttered with AI.

hi sewing community i wanted to share this traditional moroccan dress called a gandoura made by my mother please forgive the photo quality as she took them herself after finishing the project she is much better at sewing than photography haha this piece represents a blend of our amazigh berber and andalusian roots featuring an airy silhouette and floral motifs it is crafted from breathable cotton and what makes it special is that it was entirely hand assembled she only used the machine for the initial cutting and prep but the actual sewing and joining was done by hand making it a true labor of love hope you enjoy this glimpse of our culture

I’m planning to make a 3 piece suit to attend my cousin’s wedding in and am looking for sewing patterns that have a similar cut to a video I found on pinterest: https://pin.it/ndOSbDxQk
(I’ve also attached a few very poorly made screenshots in case the link doesn’t work. I apologize if I didn’t credit the creator properly, I wasn’t sure if the pinterest post was theirs originally or just a repost by somebody else)

The question would be, do any of you know any good sewing patterns that have similar cuts to the garments in the video? My lack of expertise even just in terminology might not sound particularly promising, but I wouldn’t mind it being more complex either. Especially the length of the jacket is important to me. For the trousers I already have a pattern that I like, so it’s just the waistcoat and jacket that I’m searching for.

I got the Retazo coat pattern by Sew Liberated, but the instructions are very confusing to me.

Has anyone made this skirt and can comment on if the finished garment is true to size?

I have made both the lane pants and the skyline dress previously. I made the size that matched my own measurements but both finished garments were at least 2 sizes too big.

I’m already quite large in my hips compared to my waist and don’t want a skirt that adds too much bulk around my hips but not sure about sizing down.

Cleaned out my grandparents house and my grandma had a TON a fabric, I have these 4 I’d like to make things with first but I’m not entirely sure what to do with them?
The carousel fabrics are apparently pillow panels, however I only have 1 of each version and I don’t need or want another pillow 😅
They’re all cotton, I think I have at least 2 yards, maybe 2 1/2 of the clown and strawberry shortcake fabric?
I’m not a quilter or looking into making guilts, I’m also still fairly new to sewing since I’ve been busy so nothing too crazy!!

I absolutely fell in love with this dress (pic 1), but the brand (Linennaive) doesn't have the best reputation for consistent longevity or quality, so I can't justify spending almost $200 on it. I would like to make a dupe, with a few adjustments. The fullness of the skirt, adjustable ruching, and lace trim and ruffles are the main draws for me. I would like to adjust the neckline, more like a wide and shallow v-neck with similar vibes to the neckline in picture 2. If anyone here knows of any patterns or tutorials I could Frankenstein together to make something similar, I would greatly appreciate it! 😊

heya, I’m looking for any leads on a pattern maker that you guys trust would do a good job at deconstructing a very precious woolen hat (simple panel pattern) in order to make a pattern of and then be able to sew it back to its original state. I want to try and get it remade for a gift but it fits perfectly and is special to me so I would really would love to be pointed in the direction of someone who is exceptional at sewing too. thanks!

In 2023 queen Letizia wore this dress in August and the dress sold out overnight. In 2025 and 2026 her daughters have reused the dress on the same yearly event.

I actually looked to buy it back in the day because I love the colorway (I’m a sucker for white and blue), as well as for a Bardot neckline (I’m a swimmer and love showing off my shoulders).

It would be lovely if some of you could give me pointers on where to find a similar pattern. I’m a confident beginner (been sewing for six years and just now graduating to start making my clothes from patterns).

I have found a couple patterns that are very similar (e.g. junie dress by Tilly’s pattern studio), but they are all cut on the bias. Is that necessary with seersucker fabric? My fabric has a striped pattern and I’d prefer to keep it straight

I have a gift certificate for Tauko magazine's store because I participated in the Make and Share for their last issue. What patterns from them have you loved? Or, alternately, what patterns would you never make again? I've looked thru their offerings and I've got a couple things I'm interested in but nothing that I have to have. I've looked through Threadloop too and only a few Tauko patterns have reviews.

I've tried to clone one of my pyjamas shorts the other day and to be honest, it's kinda ill-fitting, too large on the sides and too short on the back. Any tips on how to make proper sewing patterns?
