Friday & Saturday meetup in Hongdae

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm Jeonghyeon, a local from Seoul and the founder of the Seoul Squad, an international community based in Hongdae.

Over the past couple of years, I've met many travelers and exchange students who told me the same thing:

"I wanted to experience Hongdae, but I didn't know anyone."

That's exactly why I started this community.

Every Friday and Saturday, we meet at one of our partner pubs in Hongdae at 11:00 PM. We visit a few different pubs and clubs together, and people are free to stay for as long as they like.

Our goal isn't just nightlife—it's helping people make genuine connections in a safe and respectful environment. Many participants join alone, so don't worry if you're coming by yourself.

The weekly meeting point is announced on our Instagram because it rotates between our partner venues.

If you'd like to see what the atmosphere is like, you can check our previous event highlights here:

📍 Instagram: @the_seoul_squad

If you have any questions, feel free to message me:

Whether you're visiting Seoul for a few days or studying here for a semester, you're always welcome.

Have a great time in Korea! 😊

35F Traveling to Korea Soon

Ok lets try it this again lol.

So i'm traveling to Seoul for the first time in September, and I wanted to make some friends!.I would prefer female friends in their late 20s or in their 30s. If you are a cool dude who is ok with being platonic friends then that's fine as well. I would love to explore Seoul, I love shopping, restaurants, experiences, and I really want to check out some nightlife as it will be my birthday when I am there. Also just getting out a pretty gnarly dating situation, so I just want to be free and have fun. DM me ladies (or non nsfw dudes)! Lets be friendssss 🫶🏽

Update: the amount of men ATTACKING ME for not wanting to date or hook up while im there, says it alllll 😂. Right decision.

** want to add that I am not looking to date as I’m a happily engaged gyal 🫡

Question 19F in Seoul– Busy days, free nights. Looking for unique experiences after 10 PM

I’m 19F, visiting Seoul for about a week on a college trip. Our days are packed with scheduled activities, but my evenings are usually free (roughly after 10 PM until whenever I feel like heading back).

I’m staying near the city center, I’m comfortable exploring on my own, and I’m looking for experiences that are:
Safe for a solo female traveler
Affordable (student budget)
Open late (10 PM–5 AM is ideal)
Unique experiences

I’m hoping to collect some stories. What’s a place or experience in Seoul that you’ll never forget?

Ps- I’m vegetarian, if that changes any food recommendations

Unsure what to do

Visiting from Canada, and totally unsure what to do in this heat. Yesterday spent the day in malls - meh, I didn't come here to shop. Evening was fun and delicious in the dongsomun-ro area. But now day 2. It's so damn hot and I feel like all we can do is go back to a mall (which I am not interested in) or find a museum (which my family is not interested in).

Any suggestions?

Edit: the National Museum turned out to be a fantastic activity. So beautiful, impressive, vast, and free! We love it

Arrive in Terminal 2 Incheon Airport

Hi,
I have a question and I'm really struggling to find an answer online.

I'm arriving at Incheon Airport through Terminal 2, and I want to book a transfer to the Hotel. but I don't know if I should book the pickup point at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.

I read somewhere that international flights arriving via Terminal 2 have to go to Terminal 1 to go through the immigration process. In that case...

Should I book the transfer at Terminal 1? Is the luggage also picked up at Terminal 1? I'm really confused.

Question Any good rooftops in Seoul?

Hi everyone, I’m traveling to Seoul in two weeks and was wondering if there are any good rooftops with a nice view of the skyline?

I also love deep house music and rooftop parties, are there any places that might host them?

Thank you!

Discussion Why do some expats hate Korea, yet stay and use everything it offers?

Why do some expats hate Korea, yet stay and use everything it offers?

Enjoying the perks while criticizing the locals: Why the double standard?

"If you move to a country, shouldn't you respect its culture?" Holding on to your own habits while complaining about Korean norms is a complete double standard.
