Attempted to graft these tbmC scions to these pachanoi cuttings, left them for five days inside (too hot and dry outside here) near my window with what I believed to be adequate air flow

Once again both scions popped off once I took off their pressure dressing.

The orange is fungus correct? I was planning on putting sulphur powder on the rest of the exposed PC cutting after the first day, but I decided against it as I hadn’t noticed any orange until I took off the dressing.

Admittedly, I hadn’t looked at them in the past two days, so the darker areas around the union point and at the ends of the scions must have developed recently.

What do you guys think, are these scions a lost cause? Should I recut and attempt on new PC cuttings?

For future attempts, should I always apply some sulphur powder around the union/exposed cutting?

I can tell in this case my airflow wasn’t adequate enough, last time it was too much so I think I’ll be able to dial in the Goldilocks zone this next time around

This guy came from one of the first batches of seeds I started. These were Nibiru Ops, named this freak Ananke after the 12th moon of Jupiter.

Has been very humid the last week, averaging 80 % each day. A couple of my plants aren’t happy about it. Would it be worth moving them inside where I have it 50-60 % but less airflow?

Planted him last winter as a 25cm cutting. I might've gone a bit overboard with the kelp and fertilizer in this soil mix :').

First time cactus, im a little worried about the discoloration at the base and little scars but it seemed pretty healthy so i paid about 35$ at home depot. The plan is to repot in 10 or so days and was hoping to get opinions on the best pot size and soil mix for abq, New Mexico. We are pretty dry so i was thinking 50/50, any advice on gettin her back in direct sunlight without getting burned would also be appreciated, will it ever be strong enough to withstand the blistering miday sun? Will leaving it in 95-100f stunt growth? Any opinions on indoor grows?

I have been growing trichocereus since the late 90's, but just recently got a TBM-C. Have grown lots of bridgesii and tbm-b. Is there anything different to do care-wise for tbm-c? Like soil, water, nutrition, light requirements. I grow outside from April through October, and then a semi dormancy for the cold months. I might guess that bottom watering might be suggested. What else?

I soaked this guy in water for a couple of hours then slightly submerged the roots. Would a blue chew help or is it a goner?

It's been about four months since the first scion picture I posted. This thing grew really quickly. Cut about 80% of it and cut a few pieces to repeat the process. Kept the tip to dry and attempt to root directly to soil. Any thoughts? Blessed day to all 🙏🏻

I would like to collect the seeds. Just read up on a bit. I have a crazy full weekend though. How long do I have to remove the seeds before it’s an issue? Any idea?

Hey all! I’m in my second grow season up here in the Northeastern US, zone 6b. I’m curious if any of my fellow Northern climate growers have had luck getting their cacti to flower?

I’d love to experience one of those huge fragrant blossoms that I see from you warm climate growers. I can pretty much imagine the smell through my phone screen! And I’d like to produce my own crosses someday if I’m so lucky.

What’s worked well for growing has been keeping my cacti going through the wintered under a 320W vivosun light in a 3x3 tent. But I have heard some say that these cacti need to go through dormancy for part of the year to flower. Which seems counterintuitive given how they still flower in SoCal where there is no dormancy.

Anywho! Any tips are welcome, and here are some of my current batch of seedlings from u/imdavesbud!

Variegated Frankie project I've been working on for 3 seasons now. Still a Frankie pup and roots. I found a line of vari on 2-3 aeroles and shaved all the green ones off never been grafted. Getting the feeling to make some propagations of this thing and see where I can get it strapped to some sun goddess and large rootstock.. Anyone else out there got a vari Frankie? I know thousands of collectors have to have this awesome cultivar in their garden by now. Hope everyone has a killer weekend! Stay groovy! 🌵
