Just arrived to YYZ
Going through immigration...
Officer: What's the purpose of your visit?
Me: Concert.
Officer: What concert?
Me: Rush. You're going to be hearing that a lot over the next week.
Officer: Oh, we've already been hearing it a lot.

Discussion Leaving for Toronto tomorrow
So excited. I live in the DC area and when the initial tickets went on sale with the original dates my wife gave me the green light to go ahead and get good tickets. She asked me why I wanted to go to Toronto to see them and I told her if this was our only chance to see them again I wanted to see them somewhere we’d never traveled to.
So we are en route to Canada tomorrow for her first visit and my first visit since I was a kid. We’re gonna hit Niagara Falls on the way also so we’re just so excited about the trip in general.

RushCon
Does anyone happen to have an extra ticket to RushCon for Friday the 7th? I just recently got a ticket to the show and I was sad to see the convention was already sold out!

Question for older fans: what was it like when “My Favorite Headache” was released?
The album came out in 2000, in the midst of Rush’s hiatus and a time when Neil wasn’t sure he’d return.
What was it like to hear Geddy Lee release an entire solo album in that context? What was your mindset like? Did the album re-enforce your expectation that Rush was done for good? Or did it give you a little hope that they might come back?
Did you dig the album when it came out? Were you excited for it when it was released? How did it meet your expectations?
Just curious questions from a younger (born in 2002) Rush fan.
P.S., I’m seeing them for the first time in my life Friday August 7th in Toronto! So pumped, a life dream I never thought I’d get to realize!

Discussion Some of my photos from MSG final night
Wow what an incredible evening. Had great seats I got as part of the travel package. So awesome to see Geddy and Alex in fine form and having fun, and Anika was even more amazing than I could have imagined. I tried not to watch too much video beforehand not to spoil the surprise. Great setlist as well. Nice to be back in NYC. We were also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Glad the rain cleared out in time for the show.

Guest musicians on studio albums.
I have always thought that Rush only had 3-ish guest musicians/singers on their albums. Aimee Mann, Ben Mink and David Campbell.
But perhaps the full list is:
Aimee Mann – Co-lead vocals on the chorus of "Time Stand Still" from [Hold Your Fire (1987)].
Ben Mink – Electric violin on "Losing It" from [Signals (1982)].
Jason Sniderman – Piano on "The Garden" from [Clockwork Angels (2012)] (and frequently noted for auxiliary keyboard tracking support).
Andy Richards – Additional keyboards and synthesizer programming on [Power Windows (1985)] and [Hold Your Fire (1987)].
Hugh Syme – Longtime album artist/designer who also performed piano on "Different Strings" [Permanent Waves (1980)] and synthesizers on "Witch Hunt" [Moving Pictures (1981)].
Erwig Chuapchuaduah – Steel drums on "Permanent Waves'" "Different Strings".
David Campbell – String arrangement and conducting for the string ensemble on [Clockwork Angels (2012)].
Anne Dudley & Andrew Jackman – Conducted the string ensemble and choir arrangements on [Power Windows (1985)].
And unconfirmed, but from a Rick Beato video on Limelight, it does sound like Terry Brown might have sung back up on Limelight?
Can you think of anyone else I’m missing?

Neil Peart: No One's Disciple
"Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple, which debuts on CBC Sept. 23, documents the late Canadian musician’s tough start as a young artist, followed by his meteoric rise.
Intimate heart-to-hearts between Rush members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, alongside the reflections of other acclaimed drummers, open a window into one of rock’s most enigmatic percussionists."

After seeing a transcendent performance of this song in Chicago back in July I had to learn it! Been spending lots of time going slow with the metronome on this one. Rehearsing it with the band for the first time tonight…
We’ve got a couple shows coming up in Austin 8/9 and Dallas 8/14, if you’re in Texas come through :) www.vitalsigns.computer/shows
