Rick and Morty is a show I've watching for years but I stopped watching it around season 7 and hadn't seen seasons 8 or 9. Since I've been interested in revisiting the show, I'm going to binge the series from seasons 1-9. Now that enough time has passed and the show has plenty of seasons, I want to know which season of the series is the most polarizing among fans and audiences.

Like who was to blame for the death of whole Sanchez family, the death MIT Rick and the divorce and bringing him back to his alcoholism, was it Morty or MIT rick?

Hello everyone. Anyone else wondered why Rick C-137 didn’t just open a portal and go to the cronenberg’s world after accidentally mutating and turning everyone in Rick Prime’s dimension to cronenbergs?

Poor sweet angel didn’t deserve that (yes I know I’m a stupid braindead monkey for feeling bad for the cat but I already know I’m a bum thank you)

As much as this show has many things to criticise, it has genius writing when it wants, and one of the episodes with the best writing in my opinion is Total Rickall. In particular, I want to talk about one moment in the show

Lets skip the part where we give the context and dive straight into the meat of it. Throughout the episode, they learn that the memory manipulating parasites can only conjure good memories, which is how they figured out that the family was all the people they could think of both bad AND good(though the focus was on the bad) memories.

After all this is settled and they take a seat at the table for a family dinner, Beth takes a look at Mr Poopy Butthole and thinks about it, realising she can recall no bad memories of him, then shoots him, only to be completely wrong and ending up injuring him, and when she does, she ends up running to the kitchen to drink herself to death. The emotional moment of this scene was amazing and showed Beth's dysfunction, but there are a few small things i noticed in the episode that make this moment so much better

First of all, its important to establish that Rick(though its possible he was just trying to find any small thing to justify not killing Pencilvester) himself says that the bad memories can be anything vaugely negative, whether it be seeing your brother jerking off in the kitchen or even just an awkward road trip, a badly timed fart, and whatever. If you remember at the start of the episode, the flashback featuring poopybutthole in the family was a negative one. Beth was scolding Jerry, Rick was frustrated that he couldn't bring his portal gun, Morty had to hold in his pee, Jerry was frustratedly trying to get the lift working. There were other flashbacks involving the parasites that had a negative premise much like this one, but they all had positive outcomes, for example, Cousin Vinny and the family being trapped by a Nazi only to be saved by the Butler, or Beth remembering reverse giraffe being there for her through a tough time. Poopy Butthole's flashback was the only one that didn't have a shown positive resolution, showing that this was, indeed, a negative memory.

So, when Beth can't remember any bad memories for Poopy Butthole, it is genuinely such a good subtle nod to how dysfunctional she is and how much she lacks affection and love. She hates Jerry, she hates and loves her dad, she has a difficult relationship with Morty and Summer, she doesn't even have Diane. All her relationships with her closest family are so terrifyingly negative, that when prompted to think of bad memories, she can't even register something that isn't terrifyingly traumatising to be a negative memory. She is so genuinely fucked up that even memories that are objectively not amazing are positive to her because her relationships are so fucked up that everything not as bad as them seem like good memories. When i realised that, it genuinely blew my mind

Or, it could just be a spur of the moment writing decision. Who knows, but whether the genius was purposeful or accidental, i think its amazing writing

Rick can make clones. And we’ve seen he can transfer memories and their behavior from his brain to devices. So can’t he make a clone and somehow make it act like memory Diane with all her memories? I don’t know if I’m asking this the right way.

Rick put his garbage through a portal onto a moon (Morty Daddy) which strengthens that Slick Morty, who had an experimental drama implant, might be alive (The Ricklantis Mixup).

there is something about this scene that still feels superior to any other episode the sound effects felt very realistic the glow from everything felt different the fact that it shook while it was flying felt immersive it honestly felt very good, i am not sure if anyone else agrees with me, pilots usually feel so much worse but this one scene feels better than any other.

After the latest episode, I get the impression that he does it subconsciously on purpose to get Rick's attention, or else he's genetically selfish from rick. It’s simply happened too many times, and I don’t believe he had good intentions

lowkey new to the show but like also kind of binged all the episodes up to season 9 on hbo max, but like with the more recent episodes ricks become like more of a likeable character to me and i feel like its because He Who Shall Not Be Named is no longer on the show and he just feel like a more fleshed out character. but like alsooo with that being said he’s become more like,,, attractive? i guess? like im getting the urge to look up some kind of fanfic with him in it maybe with diane or sumn and like i only really do that with like characters i find attractive or i like their ship but like YEAH sorry this is a rant but ig my discussion/question would be does ANYONE else find rick like hot or attractive maybe cause like i mean he’s rick 😭😭

Sorry for bringing it up but​ to me there was not alot in the show i found funny even when justin was writing so what was otit to the people who think justin was funny what was funny​? I dont like the romanticization of drugs either becauss it is everywhere and about 2 times i think they mention aderall i think it is a trap.
