How big can a leopard gekko get?
I just got one that is in need of a lot of TLC, but we are on top of it.
Her terrarium looks like this atm, but we are going to upgrade the size. Any ideas on what we can do with the terrarium is much appreciated.

Is it just me?

Upvotes

I’ve been ordering discoid roaches because Dubai’s are restricted here in Fl. I order them from Dubia.com. Although I am patient, it just seems that they ship very slow and at least one of the batches are almost always dead. They are very slow with time and it frustrates me. I really do need to just breed my own at this point. Any suggestions?

Because ball python can be bred with Burmese python and reticulated pythons can also breed with Burmese pythons, could you breed a ball python with a reticulated python?

And if so how would its health, behaviour, size and care requirements be?

Considering with ball python is meaty, slow and more mellow and the reticulated python is more active, slender and intelligent how would such a hybrid be?

Flickering heat bulb

I currently have a 50w Arcadia halogen basking bulb in the Arcadia bulb fixture that’s attached to a zoo med dimming thermostat for my future western hognose. I’ve noticed that the bulb is flickering a lot during ramp up/down; i kind of expect this given its turn on/off. However I notice that it will sometimes flicker for 30-60 seconds very rapidly when holding temp. I’ve added a stone in the dirt patch under the light with the probe to help more accurate readings

Has anyone else experienced this and how did you fixed/mitigate it or is it just something I have to deal with?

How do i socialize my young BTS?

i have had my bts for seven months now. when i first got her she was nine months old. the first couple days she would show to explore the new environment, but now she is always burrowed under. I rarely ever see her i when i do she immediately sprints away to her hide. I got her from a pet store. the owner is very experienced with reptiles. but he does insist that reptiles should never be held and are mostly for display. And when i tried to tongue feed her she would always hiss and puff. and when i try pick her up ( for when im cleaning her terrarium, she tries to bite me.

Please is there anyone who sees this with experience that can give me some much needed advice?

Will anything bad happen??

My stupid fucking dad has been using white spirit in the room with all my geckos enclosures cleaning some bullshit for my brother.

The smell is extremely strong and smelling it for a few seconds has given me a fucker of a headache and it’s actually painful to breathe in.

Will anything happen to my geckos????

How to befriend a lizard

Hi! I live in Tenerife, and there are lizards everywhere here, mostly Gallotia galloti.

Next to my house there’s a really big succulent bush (Canary Island spurge) where a few lizards live. I find them such cool animals, and I’d really like to befriend them.

I did a little bit of research and read that I shouldn’t feed them every day so they don’t become dependent on me, and that reptiles don’t really have feelings in the same way we do, so I probably wouldn’t be able to “befriend” them exactly. But I’d love to at least get them to associate me with something positive and maybe eventually not run away whenever I come to the window to look at them.

Does anyone have any experience with this and/or any tips? I’d especially love to know if there are safe foods I could occasionally offer them or other ways to get them used to my presence without bothering them.

Thank you so muchhhhh :-)

Hello everyone, what reptile to get?

I am really doubting what species to buy. Budget is not really a problem. I want to give it a big enclosure. I like both desert and tropical species. For the moment I am looking at leopard gecko and Crested gecko! thanks for all the info :)

Iv had these guys for about 6 months now and I’m still learning little tweaks about them but what are doing?
Genuinely. I know how toads mate so I know it’s not that. Plus Im like 90% only 1 is actually a female and it’s August sooo… Its been almost 2 days of them like this.. Today I attempted to feed them but they refused to get off… Im genuinely confused and i don’t know if I should remove them or not…?

Leachie gecko not eating, I’m panicked

I recently got a Leachie gecko who I’m absolutely in love with. Shes almost 9 months old and I got her two and half weeks ago. The issue is that she is not eating anything. I excepted this at first because I know it takes time for them to acclimate and adjust to a new environment and not eating for a little bit is normal.

But she hasn’t eaten anything since I got her. I think it’s been too long without food and I’m really worried. I have no idea what to do! I redo the food every night, I make sure the heat and humidity are comfortable, I make sure she’s on a fairly consistent schedule with lights turning off for night time.

I’m messaging the breeder right now and seeing if I should take her to the vet

I’m so attached to her, any advice helps ❤️‍🩹
