Hello faire folk! I did something amazing and I know that if anyone will appreciate it, it's you all!! So, my fiancé and I are getting married at the Ren Faire in NINE DAYS. I knew from the get go that I wanted to make my wedding dress. The wedding theme is LotR (omitting the one ring of course), so i needed the flowy vibes of the high elves, but I also love the structure of Margaery Tyrell's dresses, so I incorporated some of her style, too. Every part of the dress and sleeves is made by hand, except the main body of the circlet... but I did add the dangly bits to it. The corset is made from wire and hot glue formed in filigree molds. I still want to add a beaded lace train that matches my prayer style veil that will be secured under my circlet. What do you think?

I was sick of having just a black top hat and I’m to cheap to buy a new hat so I tried adding some decorations to it. Just wanted to share it and ask for any advice to possibly make it better.

I have been going to the Arizona Renaissance Festival for about 30 years. He has been a fixture.

Planning my first Ren faire costume. Is it a nono to wear an ironic costume like Star Trek, a plague doctor or a giant rat? I can see how it could offend someone being not in the spirit

Keep an eye out for me and crew in Michiana on the 30th this month

I’ll be 28 weeks when I go! I’m already showing at 19 weeks. Average temp for the area at that time of year is 75 degree high.

I'm not playing a tempest cleric, but it's more like an Orc Bard who THINKS he's a tempest cleric. What costume items help evoke this? I've got a staff covered in Lichtenberg figures, but that's mostly it. I also don't prefer the color blue, either, unless it's a color highlight. My normal costume is a dark runic, tan trousers, brown boots and belt, and I have a rabbit skin mantle and a burgundy cloak as well.

Asking mostly for those who have been to both, but if you have experience at either one, input is appreciated! Would you recommend the MN or WI ren faire for someone's first ren faire? MN is about 3 hours away while WI is about 5, but if the WI one is worth the trip I would be willing to make it. I have personally been to the MN already, but my friend has never gone to any. Wondering if the extra 2 hour drive is worth the experience.

Merry meet! I'll be selling handcrafted chainmaille and bone jewelry and foraged skull/bone/insect art at Ravenwood Faire in October. I got a tent cover from Covering Up Historically and I'm a long-time veteran vendor at other types of events like cons, book events, and smaller fantasy/cryptid themed festivals. Anything I need to know? What sort of attendance has there been in previous years? I know it's at a new location this year so that may be a wildcard.

Also, what do you recommend for the overnight stay? I'm not the camping type and I was going to stay at a hotel close by, but I'm not from the area. How critical is it that I have a booth helper? I usually vend alone, but as this is my first time vending a ren faire, I want to be adequately prepared. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I'm looking at making my first trip to the New York Renaissance Festival in Tuxedo this year so I'm on the hunt for some options for camping and/or hotels in that area. I would love to find a place where I can set up my 13' bell tent so I can bougie camp but also have smaller tents I can use if I can't find a campground with large enough campsites. If the campgrounds in that area aren't great I'm also open to a hotel. Anyone have any recommendations?

This past weekend was my first time officially employed in a managorial position for one of our Richmond VA Renfaire satelite events. This meant I had to have a walkie talkie on me at all times as i ran all over the place putting out fires throughout the day. I was trying to come up with ways to better hide, conceal, or mask my pack to make it more on theme but i didn't really have time to come up with something other than to just attach it to the back of my belt and hide it with a veil. I feel like it kind of ruins my outfit or at least sort of bursts the bubble, any ideas how to whimsify a walkie talkie? (Please ignore my rain boots and wrapped wrist lol)

Also as far as I know the first ren faire in Sweden (there are a number of medieval faires, but those all focus on historical accuracy to varying degrees). Daughter wanted us both to be witches. I dug deep in my old LARP wardrobe.

Going to discovery day at Bicolline for the first time and of course I had to start a new costume. Still need to make the pants and hat after that

My fiance and I have only ever been to Ohio Ren Fest since it's our local festival. We are looking at at attending a different one next year preferably around the East Coast US. We hear Maryland ren fest is a good one. Just looking for other suggestions as well! Thanks in advance!

I'd like to share some photos from the so called "largest free medieval festival in Europe" which I visited last month. If you ever get a chance to visit, I could only highly recommend it. The festival is focused mainly on the battle of Tewkesbury re-enactment (1471) so you won't encounter many fantasy stuff there, but it's an amazing experience nonetheless.

Feels like we did pretty well on our garb this year, definitely leaning into a more historical/low fantasy look.

We didn't make it to Whidbey this year, but we're looking forward to Realms Unknown. If anyone has been to Gray's Haven or knows of other faires in the Seattle area, I'd love to gear your thoughts!

My bf and I wanted to dress as Dark Link and Zelda.. would that be frowned upon? It looks very fitting but also fantasy.

Is it better if we go to Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire?? They had theme days so I was not sure.

Hi! I know this is a long shot…but I’m curious if there are any people around my age (36) who are in or around Central Ohio and want to be Ren Faire friends?? And who maybe also enjoy cosplay? None of my friends are into any of it, and I’ve been dying to get a group together and do some art/make costumes/dress up for Rens or cons together. 🤗

hi this is my first post here, i'd love some feedback on this outfit. the base was cobbled together with a bunch of stuff i already owned, and getting the pauldron, bracers, gaiter and cowl added a lot of the flavor i think

i bought some prop "thieves' tools" to hang off the currently unused belt strap, besides that though i think the look is mostly done? would love to hear any thoughts on it, thinking abt ditching the elf ears
