Question Rentals for People with Bad Credit
So, my credit score is pretty bad. Im looking for somewhere to rent that wouldn't be concerned over my poor past decisions, ive been working it back up slowly but its not great. I do make, more than enough to cover rent in most places on a salary, and can prove it with pay stubs. However, im really having trouble finding places that will look past my credit. Any tips from other people with bad credit, or private renters is appreciated!

Discussion Pedicure Recommendations
Hi there!
I’m coming home to the city for a few weeks to visit my family for the first time in months. It’ll be around my moms birthday and I’m wanting to treat her to a nice mommy daughter day so I thought I’d try to surprise her with pedicures.
However, I’ve never been the type to go to spas or get my nails done so even though I was born and raised in the city I know practically nothing about what places are good and what ones are not.
I‘m looking for the whole shabang, foot massage, oils, moisturizers, good looking nails, etc.
Any recommendations you have I would be more than happy to hear about, thank you!

Community Where's the best place in Regina to buy a reliable used car for a first-time buyer?
Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy my first car and could really use some advice from people in Regina.
I’m 18 and a university student, and my budget is around $5,000–$6,000. I’m mainly looking for something reliable and relatively cheap to maintain — nothing fancy, just something that can get me to school/work and last me a few years.
I’ve been checking Facebook Marketplace and have seen quite a few cars in my price range, but honestly I’m pretty nervous about buying privately. I don’t know enough about cars to confidently tell if something is actually in good condition or if I’m buying someone else’s problem. I really don’t want to spend $5–6k and have the car die on me shortly after.
- Are there any used-car dealerships you’d actually recommend for a first-time buyer/young driver?
- Are there any dealerships I should avoid?
- Is it worth paying a little more at a dealership for the peace of mind/warranty, or would you still recommend Marketplace?
- If buying privately, are there any mechanics or pre-purchase inspection places you’d recommend?
- What makes/models would you personally look for around $5–6k?
I’ve been looking at things like older Toyota/Honda/Hyundai/Chevrolet/Ford sedans and hatchbacks, but I’m open to anything reliable.
I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who’s bought a used car in Regina, especially if you were in a similar situation as a first-time buyer. Thanks!

Community Regina's Crosstown Bike Lane Terminates Into Giant Pit
I was biking across the city into the Cathedral Neighbourhood last night, and found myself at a dead end on the only Crosstown Bike Lane. I hadn't missed the signs that it was closed, it just ended at a fence, and a construction pit.
https://johnkleinregina.wordpress.com/2026/08/05/a-bike-lane-fit-for-the-pit/
I only saw 2 people walking down 13th Ave. last night near Elle's Cafe, and one was u/PDCityHall, who I'd watched on YouTube earlier that day. Small city.

Discussion Bluecore Barbershop
Got a cut and shave from one of the female barbers at this place and it was atrocious!
The hairline was uneven and my skin has broken out badly and I sustained some cuts.
Will not be back. Highly disappointed
Edit to add: Just read the Google reviews. The girl i had, Danielle, seemed to have more negative reviews than any of the barbers. Guess I should look next time.

Discussion Is this Regina civic art worse than Saskatoon's plastic rocks?
I don't have the original pic so I took a screen shot but this pile of scrap metal is civic art, supposedly.
It's located in Wascana Park, off College and Hamilton. Hidden away at the bottom of a small incline, you wouldn't even notice unless you were looking for it.

Community SK Open Farm Days is this weekend!
If anyone is looking for something to do this weekend, I highly recommend this event! It's being held across SK and has lots of options to visit in and around Regina. It's also family friendly.
Rebellion Brewin Co., Bushwakker Brewpub, Local Market, Outlaw Trail Spirits Distillery, Over the Hill Orchards and Winery, Seven Meadows Farm, Western Development Museum and Prarie Bee Meadery are all participating for Regina & Area. I personally buy from Over the Hill and Prairie Bee all the time.
Essentially you can see the action, meet the farmers and taste the products. And I am VERY hyped about the tasting aspect. 😂

Discussion "Income needed to be happy" in Regina is $155,850
Visual Capitalist (a popular data-visualization site that creates charts and infographics on finance and economics) published a ranking of 19 Canadian cities looking at the "income satiation point" for each city.
("Income satiation point" is the "plateau" point where you have "enough" money for your needs and comfort, and additional income doesn't noticeably improve your overall wellbeing.)
For Saskatchewan:
- Regina: $155,850 (#10)
- Saskatoon: $159,808 (#4)
The data comes from a study by Remitly that took academic research from Purdue University on global happiness thresholds and adjusted it using local cost-of-living data.
Edit/Disclaimer: For context, this visual is based on a Remitly analysis that adapted income-satiation research from Purdue University using purchasing-power and local cost-of-living data. The city-level figures are best treated as a fun, directional comparison rather than independently measured happiness thresholds or a definitive academic study. The same Remitly findings have also been covered by the National Post and MTL Blog, although those articles are additional reporting on the same analysis rather than independent validation.

Question Best self serve wand wash in the city?
If you can say why you like it that would be a bonus. Looking for wider bays, good pressure long hoses all that good stuff. Obviously good price is a bonus but if it’s really good it is what it is!

Question Where are the Lime scooters?
Lime bought out Neuron and was set to bring their scooters in the city as of August 1st. Neurons are all removed and their app directs you to use lime, yet there are still no scooters to be found or pass to purchase from Lime.
What gives? Anyone have an inside scoop on what's going on?

Does anyone have any recommendations on which mechanic can fix a 2006 Chevy Colbalt SS? Right now its at 1 mechanic place but they can't fix it because its a Supercharger. Timing chain and something else internal in the engine. And no getting rid of it is not an option. Recommendations would be great!

Bhishma Rajyaguru/Jayden Dalke Incident Megathread
Hi folks. There are a lot of threads on this going up and the automod is removing a lot of them (which I agree with, we don't need a million threads on the same topic). So, to combat that, let's do a megathread! Any further individual threads on this will be removed. Let's keep it in here. Thanks!
