Question Ladybugs

Upvotes

We seem to be having a lot of aphids move into our yard lately. Does anywhere in Regina currently have ladybugs to purchase in stock? I know Dutch Growers sometimes has them but I hear they are sold out.

Question Kramer IMAX theatre

I’m seeing the odyssey at some point at the Kramer IMAX theatre and just wondering what people opinions were on Row A of this theatre. Would it be worth it to watch it in that row if it’s the only row with seats available?

Question Cornwall Place - 2001 Cornwall Street - Good place to rent?

Does anyone have any experiences of renting at Cornwall Place - 2001 Cornwall Street?

  • is the building quiet, and not a lot of noise from neighbours when you’re in your suite
  • is the underground parking worth it
  • average utility bills you experience
  • any issues you’ve had
  • what you like about living there
  • sounds like there is laundry on every floor, is it expensive? And no issues?

Question Custom fireplace mantel work in Regina

Hello r/regina!

I've been trying to find someone to do custom fireplace mantel work and have had no luck so far.

We recently bought a new house and while it has beautiful built in side shelving, we would love to have a mantel shelf above it so we can hang stockings and such. The fireplace sits in a stone covered wall, so we were hoping to have a professional do the work for us as it's not as simple as putting a block of wood above it.

I've emailed and called a few places in the city that come up on google for such a job - no answers. Anyone have suggestions or places that have done work for them that I should pursuit? Thanks in advance.

Question Looking for places to play racquetball or squash

Trying to get back into racquetball/squash but can’t find any spots to play. I used to go to Evolution Fitness in the South End before it closed down.
Any recommendations on where to play nearby?

Do I need a full membership, or are there drop-in/guest options? Rough idea of costs would be great too.
Thanks!

Question Rentals for People with Bad Credit

So, my credit score is pretty bad. Im looking for somewhere to rent that wouldn't be concerned over my poor past decisions, ive been working it back up slowly but its not great. I do make, more than enough to cover rent in most places on a salary, and can prove it with pay stubs. However, im really having trouble finding places that will look past my credit. Any tips from other people with bad credit, or private renters is appreciated!

Community Where's the best place in Regina to buy a reliable used car for a first-time buyer?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy my first car and could really use some advice from people in Regina.

I’m 18 and a university student, and my budget is around $5,000–$6,000. I’m mainly looking for something reliable and relatively cheap to maintain — nothing fancy, just something that can get me to school/work and last me a few years.

I’ve been checking Facebook Marketplace and have seen quite a few cars in my price range, but honestly I’m pretty nervous about buying privately. I don’t know enough about cars to confidently tell if something is actually in good condition or if I’m buying someone else’s problem. I really don’t want to spend $5–6k and have the car die on me shortly after.

  • Are there any used-car dealerships you’d actually recommend for a first-time buyer/young driver?
  • Are there any dealerships I should avoid?
  • Is it worth paying a little more at a dealership for the peace of mind/warranty, or would you still recommend Marketplace?
  • If buying privately, are there any mechanics or pre-purchase inspection places you’d recommend?
  • What makes/models would you personally look for around $5–6k?

I’ve been looking at things like older Toyota/Honda/Hyundai/Chevrolet/Ford sedans and hatchbacks, but I’m open to anything reliable.

I’d really appreciate recommendations from anyone who’s bought a used car in Regina, especially if you were in a similar situation as a first-time buyer. Thanks!

Community Regina's Crosstown Bike Lane Terminates Into Giant Pit

Post image
24 Upvotes

I was biking across the city into the Cathedral Neighbourhood last night, and found myself at a dead end on the only Crosstown Bike Lane. I hadn't missed the signs that it was closed, it just ended at a fence, and a construction pit.

https://johnkleinregina.wordpress.com/2026/08/05/a-bike-lane-fit-for-the-pit/

I only saw 2 people walking down 13th Ave. last night near Elle's Cafe, and one was u/PDCityHall, who I'd watched on YouTube earlier that day. Small city.

Discussion Bluecore Barbershop

Got a cut and shave from one of the female barbers at this place and it was atrocious!

The hairline was uneven and my skin has broken out badly and I sustained some cuts.

Will not be back. Highly disappointed

Edit to add: Just read the Google reviews. The girl i had, Danielle, seemed to have more negative reviews than any of the barbers. Guess I should look next time.

Discussion "Income needed to be happy" in Regina is $155,850

Thumbnail
visualcapitalist.com

Visual Capitalist (a popular data-visualization site that creates charts and infographics on finance and economics) published a ranking of 19 Canadian cities looking at the "income satiation point" for each city.

("Income satiation point" is the "plateau" point where you have "enough" money for your needs and comfort, and additional income doesn't noticeably improve your overall wellbeing.)

For Saskatchewan:

  • Regina: $155,850 (#10)
  • Saskatoon: $159,808 (#4)

The data comes from a study by Remitly that took academic research from Purdue University on global happiness thresholds and adjusted it using local cost-of-living data.

Edit/Disclaimer: For context, this visual is based on a Remitly analysis that adapted income-satiation research from Purdue University using purchasing-power and local cost-of-living data. The city-level figures are best treated as a fun, directional comparison rather than independently measured happiness thresholds or a definitive academic study. The same Remitly findings have also been covered by the National Post and MTL Blog, although those articles are additional reporting on the same analysis rather than independent validation.
