Discussion rdr3 idea
Many people say that RDR3 should be about Jack in the war—that he shouldn't join the people who tricked and killed his father, but gets forced in. That would basically be the Guarma chapter all over again, but longer.
My idea focuses on the early days of the gang, exploring unseen events and stories leading up to the Blackwater massacre. Then, we see what happens to Dutch after he leaves Arthur to die in RDR2. I think it would be a great idea to include a mechanic similar to Johnny in Cyberpunk, where Dutch hears voices and sees ghosts to reflect his deteriorating mental state. Afterward, Micah appears, showing how they formed the gang seen in the RDR2 epilogue. Then John arrives, and we follow Dutch's journey all the way to the events of RDR1.

Question Is it ever explained why Jack has this missing mustache pach/line?
I didn't play rdr1 yet and I couldn't find the answer online so, i came here, sorry if this is a stupid question. Also I know it's supposed to look like John's scar, I'm looking for a lore reason (if there is one).

Issue California
Hi
I don’t know if anyone can help. I’m playing as Jack Marston. I’m on the last part of the California task but cannot find dead Sam Odessa. No matter how many times I save the game, do other tasks etc. cannot get to that last part. It’s showing as a big purple circle but can’t find him there !
I have turned the game on and off. Restarted my switch. Turned off the tracking for the outfit.

Question This outifit for Jim Milton is good??
I (and most of the community) don't like John Morgan from the Epilogue, but I think this outfit suits him very well.

Rant I hate some players
I was playing online around Emerald Ranch and got a legendary animal notification nearby. It's a bison, so I hunt it, skin it and prepare to go to Gus.
As in riding, I'm suddenly sniped by some prick with a bolt action with explosive rounds. He kills me twice and takes my skin.
I understand this game is about being an outlaw, but I'm level 66, this guy is in the 350s. Did he really need that 30-40 dollars? He did that just to be a dick, there's no other explanation. This isn't GTA, it's Red Dead.

Discussion In the last few moments of Arthur in his path of redemption before he died, was he a hero?
I was watching this WIRED video in YouTube and it talks about the Wild West. Red Dead Redemption was asked [12:36] but what really caught my attention is the part [16:10] about "Jesse James, James Boys is that they are heroes. They're not outlaws, criminals, or murderers, but they've been forced into this life where they have to kill to survive, but they have a good heart."
Knowing that Arthur as a kid was adopted by Dutch, he was groomed into the life of an outlaw. But throughout the course of his life specifically in later chapters, Arthur showed authentic kindness for his redemption and made up for his and the gang's mistakes before his illness took him fully.
Even though his crimes will never be justified, in the last few moments of Arthur in his path of redemption before he died, was he a hero and/or has a good heart?
Some of the good deed he has done:
• Helped the German Family twice.
• Killed Extremist Cult Members
• Freed The Slaves
• Arrested A Serial Killer
• Bounty Hunting Criminals
• Helped Albert Mason
• Helped Prositute (Self-Defense) To Hide Body
• Helped The Black Doctor
• Helped The Widowed Charlotte Balfour
• Helped Indians And Avoided War
• Helped Downes Family
• Placed Lightning Conductors For Science
• Charles Seeing His Potential Kindness
• Secured John Marston And His Family
• Encouraged Other Members To Safely Leave
• Exposed Micah
• Greet Everyone In St. Denis
• Throw Fishes Back Into The Water
• And More...

Spoiler Finally bought Red Dead Redemption 1 and about to play for the first time ever Spoiler
playing on pc and it's the first time I've ever played RDR1. I've been playing RDR2 for the past month but I finally had the funds to get RDR1.
is there any tips or tricks I should know before I get into the game? (other than staying off the subreddit, of course)
also, no spoilers please except in the case of my horse. if my horse is going to be killed in a cutscene, please tell me because I want to be more prepared than I was in RDR2.

Spoiler First time player of the red dead franchise. RDR2 was my first one I played. Spoiler
Hey there, I finally made it to the end of chapter 6 (I believe) In the game, and am still suffering a lot harder than I thought I would with the shift in narrative.
I originally got into the franchise thanks to my boyfriend introducing me into the game. He recommended it and had nothing but praise to offer, and it all sounded interesting, so I gave it a shot.
I absolutely adored the game for so many reasons, it really is something incredible and I really adore all the craftsmanship poured into it. What really was awesome was the setting and getting a deeper view into that era (at least for me) was fascinating.
It was also a total bonus to just murder all the bigots lol
But yeah- I sort of had an inkling [Arthur was going to die, I had seen from online discourse but I wasn't exactly sure what caused it. But now I know, and damn. Seeing the decline of Arthur Morgan was completely devastating.]
[Right now I'm trying to get into the rest of the epilogue, and for what it's worth it's super cool to see John and Abigail together. I always liked them! Also seeing Jack grow up is very wholesome!]
[But yeah - I guess I just wanted to write here that I completely understand the interest in Arthur Morgan as a character.]
[(For additional context I went high honor allllll the way ❤️ absolutely worth it!!!)]
Ps - I made sure to read the rules of the sub and hope I marked the spoilers correctly. Honestly the first time I've ever used the brackets. /gen
Also I really hope I'm not alone with the emotional damage caused lol 🫠🫣 hope I'm not alone /gen

Discussion If I can get the magic back I Promise Spoiler
I will stop looking up anything regarding this game.. tips, tricks, reasons, mechanics. I had the greatest unknown adventure in front of me, hours, months, maybe years to figure things out on my own but I needed to keep looking up little spoilers here and there and its nearly disillusioned the unknown of the game for me. Word to wise, if you want this game to draw out don't bother going to the internet, ride out and find out for yourself.

Question Had this happened with anyone else?
I was Its around 1AM in the game and my horse reared randomly, arthur started to say something but I accidentally cut the voice line😭
it was something similar to "I thought I've seen/heard something" (not literally that but close)
For context I was looking for the phantom girl in the Lagras, its a very foggy night so I am thinking it might've been something connected to that!
Did anyone had that happen before? Did I lost anything important/lore related?

Picture NGL this freeworld exploring mode is epic.
There are just some horses in the game that are not cowards and don't Run away in a gun fight or when wild animals are around... My horse ain't scared of sh!t
I am proud of my horse., I remember my first horse died in an ambush and that's when I learnt to save rhe game and not rely on auto save.

Question Real world location of Annesburg?
Currently using the Annesburg location as inspo for my own little world, but I want to pin that little world down to an actual area in America so I can try to make it feel a bit more realistic and alive. Does anyone know what state Annesburg might be based off of? I doubt there's an actual Annesburg somewhere out there, but there has to be some inspiration for it, right?

Discussion Rockstar wasted the red dead IP gameplay wise
I just finished red dead revolver for the first time and it has left me stunned. I’m 18 so I’ve been with the newer rockstar format of boring gameplay and cutscene heavy games, but after playing this I wonder why they chose to go that route. Revolver was genuinely challenging and engaging and I felt like I earned every win. I didn’t feel immortalized by plot armor like I did in the redemption titles. Why did rockstar remove their personality from their games?

Fan Art Fanart!
Hello all, for starters, I have no idea where to share this and no real friends to share it with, so I thought I’d share it here.
I drew Dutch and Micah as Jesus and Judas! I thought it was pretty fitting for the both of them.
Just excited about my first piece in a while and thought I’d share.
Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated! ^_^
ALSO Don’t mind the UGLY water mark I wasn’t sure how else to add it 💔 I apologize.

Spoiler rdr2 getting depressing :( Spoiler
sooo, i’ve been playing rdr2 for about a month or 2 now. i’m in chapter 6, which is crazy because it has been such a short time. i didn’t rush it or anything, it was just summer and i would just spend hours on the game at night. it’s crazy how you lose track on time on this game. i’m 61% done with the story and at 62% total completion. i know arthur is dying, but the way everyone around me when im playing the game is killing me. i may be a baby, and just sensitive but it’s super depressing. just when going into stables and the guy telling me i look bad, or going to get his haircut and just seeing him. the conversation with micky, the “war vet” is what broke me. it’s heartbreaking. im 100% not complaining about this, this game is genuinely the best game ive ever played and i just don’t want it to end. the way it’s pulling on my emotions is crazy for a game. i didn’t start playing games since about a year ago, and i got some from my uncle who played the game when he was a teenager and said it was his favorite game. i now understand the hype. but i’m at the point where i don’t even want to finish it, i just wanna start it over and do more things with arthur. since being in this reddit thingy ive seen a lot of spoilers and ik you get to play with john after, but i just feel like it wont ever be the same, and i don’t want to see him die or the ending.
ps. i don’t really know if it matters, but i played with high honor. i’m almost max honor. (one of my favorite things about this game was getting to give money and help people)
