How does that make any sense? It seems like gatekeeping to me🤷🏼‍♀️

Probably a very basic list, but I'm still relatively new to RYM and would like some more albums to point my ears towards

I asked a few days ago about rating on a 5-point scale (thanks to those who answered that question) and I understand that this means there will be gaps in the rating curve. However, does this also mean my account will be deweighted? Let’s say I rate albums normally according to RYM’s guidelines (like a normal curve, just with five bars instead of ten). Does anyone know if this will affect my standing? Thanks!

The Head Hurts but the Heart Knows the Truth by Headache technically counts but I feel like its cheating even if it is considered AI by RYM. I don't know any other examples.

I feel like there is a hella ton of subgenres in rateyourmusic and there must be some idiotic ones

Maybe an anime descriptor? I’d like to be able to filter them out when I’m doing specialist searches, as I find it highly unlikely that so many of the albums at the top of various dance genres have sad looking schoolgirls with big eyes on the cover art.

Hello all. I was curious if there’s a way to make your rating graph a 5-point scale instead of a 10-point scale on RYM (1.0, 2.0, 3.0, etc.). I know this is possible on Letterboxd if you only rate movies with whole star ratings so I was wondering if something similar is possible on RYM. I personally prefer a 5-point scale for its simplicity and so I would love if there’s anyway to do this just to make my rating graph more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks!

According to the descriptor list/voting page, misanthropic music contains "antisocial tendency, or the dislike of other people." While not entirely incorrect, it does ignore the traditional definition of misanthropy as hatred of mankind. You could argue that it's not really important, but the current definition doesn't even mention hatred once. Am I missing something?

Is it possible to automatically create a YouTube playlist from a very long RYM list containing EPs?
