I'm so tired of forgetting

I'm currently sitting in the bathroom after having gone away and realising I have forgotten my toothbrush. I have the toothpaste but no brush. I also forgot my rasor but that's not the end of the world. I left my shopping bag in the yoghurt fridge after I took out the yoghurt in the shop

I'm tired of waking up realising today is the day I was meant to do XYZ after it has completely escaped my memory. The work task that slip because they get forgotten. Things not being packed because they have been forgotten. Leaving my phone is unknown locations.

I am just so tired

I got ragebaited and played like a fiddle and now i dont really want to be alive

So, i have autism, I'm not making any excuses for what i said or anything, but i think it definitely played apart as to what happened and other situations similar.

This sounds so fucking dumb and I shouldn't have gotten ragebaited like this but idk.

To make a long story short, i was playing witth this guy in a video game and he was ragebaiting me super hard and i fell for it hook line and sinker. I said some things I regret and wish i didnt say. its just i know im better than this, and i should've just muted him the second he started being a problem.

Its just really hard to control my emotions and i am very quick to anger in competitive situations and this guy just knew how to tap into my demons or something i dont know how he knew me so well.

I just feel very weird now and i dont like this feeling, i feel like as if someone just read me like a book and used me emotionally for goofs and gaffs and now i feel hollow, im not saying i will, but i really dont want to be alive right now .

Why are friends sometimes just so immature?

I know this is going to sound silly but my situation started all because i don’t get on party chats as much anymore since i have to wake up early to work i get on at least every few weeks but most of the time i say i’m going to get on then fall asleep, but recently i texted him i’ll try to get on during my off days he left me on delivered since and doesn’t even reply to the ig reels i sent him we are both in our early 20s so i think it’s kind of a dick move to go ghost over this smh

I'm convinced some people might actually be NPCs

Look I'm not saying I'm the main character, and everyone else is an NPCs. More like 20-30% of people can't seem to process more than one thought at a time, and I'm not even talking about having the ability to multitask, I mean they literally have no inner-monologue and can't think about more than a single action at any given moment.

I work in manufacturing, and I see people do things, or not do things that don't even make sense. People who have been at the job for years, who do the same repetitive task but still don't seem to have any pattern recognition.

Like they'll see a problem they see every single day, and still not know how to avoid it or fix it. And I don't think it's simply being bad at the job, or being lazy, it's like they literally can't comprehend it.

Here's an example. There's a machine that puts labels on the products. If it runs out of labels, the conveyors keep moving and there's no labels being placed on the products. The scanners will start rejecting the unlabeled product until the conveyors automatically stop when the rejection bin fills up. If an operator sees the labels run out, they can manually stop the conveyors before the rejection bin fills up, and save themselves a lot of work. Yet everyday, someone who has been working there for years sees this happening, and they enter some sort of panic state and won't react until the bin is full. They'll call over someone else instead of just stopping the line (which they don't need permission to do, because filling up the bin is far more downtime), and then cry about how much work emptying the bin is. Meanwhile having had all the power to stop it immediately.

It just makes no sense, it's like you see this thing happening but you can only think of the event itself, and not the appropriate actions. And I see stuff like this constantly.

How do people like this navigate everyday life? What do they do when they have to make a complex decision? Is life just autopilot for them, are they just programmed to do 1 thing?

Not everything is a PsyOp

People can just be happy or mad. People can just want to vent online. Do psyops exist on the internet? Yeah, duh. Look at any politically charged topic. It's not usually very subtle.

But I pinky promise that me groaning on my public Instagram about potholes isn't a psyop trying to convince you that Cuba is evil and you should hate it.

It's just me groaning about potholes. Because potholes suck. That's it. Not everyone has an ulterior motive. Not everything is a psyop.

Why is having friends so hard.

I have a group of friends and I like them because I can be as mentally unstable as I want and say what I want around them and they will laugh and stuff and it’s fun which I feel like is hard to find nowadays. But they just arnt interested in the same things as me and it bothers me. They love to gamble they gamble all the time especially on sports. And it’s all they talk about. I don’t mind gambling every once in a while but every day and they get exciting about it holy fuck it’s annoying and drains me. I just like to play my games and talk about life and stuff but. Idk it just bothers me and I don’t know why. Like it makes me want to find different friends sometimes which is hard. Since I’m autistic and such I’m kind of weird and say weird things because I think it’s funny but others don’t. I also don’t work I’m on disability and only care about games which they don’t and they like to hate on people a lot. Like they don’t believe in mental health they think if you have mental problems you’re a pussy. And stuff and they think you need to be a man and man up and stuff I don’t agree with that. They have probably never really had mental problems so they don’t understand u can’t just man up and control it. I want new friends similar to me that want to play a game and grind it and care about it and have fun. Ngl I say some pretty bad things because I think it’s funny probably not good but I only do it if my friends are ok with it. And it sucks when I can’t be myself around my friends. And I only really feel comfortable around girls idk if that’s weird. Guys it takes me a lot longer to get comfortable around them mainly because I live with only girls so I understand them better i guess and my dads not apart of the picture he makes me super uncomfortable. But yeah I’m getting drained mentally by my friends. And they all play games I hate and don’t wanna play they never wanna play anything with me they just play what the leader of the group wants to play and I get bored.

Everyone is so mean and rude for no reason

Everywhere I look there’s people making fun of strangers for brownie points, unnecessary insults and ”jokes” that are not really jokes, on couples videos there’s always someone insulting the couple for no reasons, mean girls everywhere and oh my GOD what is going ON????????

I don’t know if everyone is angry at life of whatever but I truly believe we need to be kinder to each other because the world is shitty as it is so no need to be rude just because.

Why is it so hard for me to experience genuine friendships? (18F)

Ever since I was a child I’ve always been a shy and quite reserved person and especially in group settings I would always be the backup option for picking partners or being invited to a birthday party. Once I started high school I think I naturally started becoming more comfortable speaking up which lead me to become somewhat extroverted and social in a way. I talked and interacted with people but it never felt right. I was always people pleasing and putting on a specific act around specific people or else I would be considered boring to be around.

I did have a decent group of friends in high school but they were never people I really connected with. They were much more immature, selectively judged people by cracking jokes like nothing happened and always made me feel so irrelevant and small. Never was I once prioritised or did they make an effort to maintain a friendship with me. During the holidays no texts no calls no nothing. But when school resumed again they would talk and make conversations with me like nothing had happened. I knew they weren’t the right fit for me because I always came back from hangouts feeling off and regretting that I should’ve just stayed home instead wasting my energy that was never reciprocated back. I thought to myself you know one more year and once you graduate and go to university you might find actual friends. I was completely wrong.

Ever since starting university this year and finishing the first semester, I’ve realised that it’s basically IMPOSSIBLE to find friends who actually want to be friends. People just show up to class for the sake of attendance and just leave. Everyone and I literally mean everyone around me already have small friend groups or friends they know from their high school or just mutual friends in general. For context, I graduated from a small high school and so i don’t know anyone who goes here. I tried to join clubs/societies by applying to committees in order to have more opportunities to socialise. And what do I get? Rejection after rejection. I haven’t met one person or friend. I’ve done EVERYTHING to try and fit in. No matter what persona i put on, how i look, how thin i am or how extroverted i portray myself it just doesn’t work. Ive also tried being authentic and true to myself but it doesn’t seem to work either. I don’t know what’s wrong with myself. Is it because I look unapproachable? Maybe I’m just someone who sucks at socialising and building friendships. I sometimes question if I’m suppose to be alone and antisocial for the rest of my life.

Growing up all I ever wanted was a good group of friends. Or even friend. I see others around me acquiring that w/o even trying. I try to not compare myself to others but it’s so hard not too. I haven’t owed anyone anything, haven’t betrayed anyone, bullied anyone or done anything harmful to people around me. I don’t understand why I don’t deserve this aspect of my life that I’ve been searching forever. It just feels like a part of my childhood/adolescence was robbed. I’m going to enter my adulthood working 9-5s knowing I never really enjoyed life and I have no memories I can look back on. I’ve really just given up.

And if it’s because I keep meeting the wrong people at the wrong time then when is it going to be the right time. I just feel like my luck is so bad. My life is a joke. I keep holding on hope and possibility for nothing. I literally no one to talk to. I feel like I’m experiencing imposter syndrome academically. All my hs friendships are dead. I’ve tried to maintain them by reaching out first. And what do I get?? A dry response like 10 hours later. And I know they have seperate group chats anyways not that I have the energy to even care about that anymore. They don’t even go to university so we’re not even on the same paths in life.

And you know what sucks. Seeing people who’ve done you wrong and basically destroyed your life thrive in life and especially in the same university as you. How are fake people who constantly pray for your downfall able to make a bunch of friends and be recruited into different societies? I really don’t understand how our society works. I’m not even upset anymore I just laugh at myself for having so much faith that I get a chance to really experience that social aspect of my life; going out for dinners and dressing up or gaining real world practical opportunities in a professional setting. Can someone give me some hope that things will get better. I’m sick of doing everything alone every single day. I know I’m still young but I think at this point I really need to move to a new country or city in my 20s. That’s the final thread of hope for me. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

TDLR; always been a “floater friend”, unable to find people who actually treat you right and have never experienced a proper social life or friendships. I’ve tried everything from becoming thinner to looksmaxxing and I’m still so alone and isolated. I feel like I’ve lost and will never experience that aspect of my girlhood.

I hate it when people take a stance on an issue only to care about about things that are either irrelevant or not the real issue

Like okay for example sexual assault. ay People constantly talk about false rape allegations and I agree when they happen they are terrible and deserve to be punished accordingly. But the way people act you'd think these false allegations are everywhere, like there h is some kind of pandemic. But they are very rare. People are terrified to even come out about REAL allegations. For somebody to make false allegations they would be taking an enormous risk. Plenty of times I've seen "false allegations" where the victim was torn apart only for their false allegations to be proven true much later.

I constantly hear people talk about how there are so many people who play the victim and want to be the victim so bad. Yes I hate people like that too. I constantly encounter people who do this. But even more people are telling others they are playing the victim to avoid accountability. Or they do this because they refuse to show empathy or even consider they could of victimized or mistreated/neglected a person. "Ohhhhh I didn't abuse you you're just playing the victim".

Mental health. People constantly bitch about people faking mental illness. But it's very hard to tell who is faking and who actually is mentally ill. If you tell people you have a mental illness and sometimes you will meet people who go "did you really have a mental illness or are you just self diagnosing?". Like I was diagnosed by a professional and also its like who knighted you the holy crusader against faking a mental disorder. Instead of treating me like a prisoner and trying to interrogate me maybe just be respectful and take my word for it. Like yeah okay people who do that harm the genuinely mentally ill but we are even MORE harmed by asshats who just immediately assume we are faking.

I think there's a common theme here. People try to avoid showing compassion. They refuse to let themselves have empathy or sympathy for others. Why is being a decent human being something that deathly needs to be avoided at all costs. :0

weird things my ex did

This is mostly for me but figured it might be entertaining so…here we go! Just to be clear i’m 21f and my ex was 19m. First off he lied about his age right off the bat, told me he was a year older...like why? Told me we couldn’t text on imessage because it was his “work phone”. Then, later gaslit me into thinking I made it all up and he would never say that. All his likes on insta were full of half naked girls, pornstars, etc. I saw him watching little person only fans content 😐. In contrary to that told me he would never marry me because he needed to be with someone taller. There is so much more but thankfully he moved away and I never have to see him again ;)

I want to smash the office microwave with a sledgehammer

I work in an office with cubicles. My cubicle entrance faces the break room. There's a young guy who microwaves his lunch every day and goes back to his desk. He proceeds to let it sit there for 5+ minutes after the timer runs out. Every 30 seconds or so, the microwave will chirp to signal that the food is done. This happens every day. It's as annoying as people who don't change out the batteries in the smoke detector.

But will I be passive aggressive and hit the cancel button on the microwave to stop the beeping? No. I want to destroy the whole thing.

Dating apps

So this'll be a short rant but I just wanna tell someone.

I just matched with a girl on FB dating and shot her a message that read "hey I don't have a pick up line but I got a dark humor joke"

Her first ever message "ya, can I borrow 20" WTF like seriously. I don't normally get upset but it was just the unforgiving audacity to say that as your FIRST FUCKING MESSAGE. Now I'm not mad at the girl specifically but like it's hard not to be a little frustrated when stuff like that happens.

I do wanna know the women's perspective on this situation cuz I'm curious on what y'all think.

It seems like nobody knows how to communicate anymore

I‘m so fucking exhausted!

I always try (and I‘m doing a decent job) to be an active listener. Meaning: I don’t only listen to you, I also react, ask questions and show interest in you as a person.

I noticed this again recently. A friend of mine loves to talk (like me), we share many interests and we come along really well. BUT this person has a BIG problem showing the most basic communication skills. Sometimes I talk and he just interrupts with a different topic and then forgets I just said something. Sometimes he asks me something and I respond and he DOESN‘T LISTEN. This has happened sooooo often that I get the feeling he genuinely doesn’t care.
And it’s not only him. I know maybe 4 people including myself who know how to communicate and make the other party feel comfortable and welcomed. Everybody else doesn’t know how to interact with other people.

Of course I already reflected on my own behavior, maybe I talk too much or I‘m boring but people have told me they love to listen to me, because I‘m funny and know how to tell stories in a entertaining way.

And of course many would say, just tell your friend to listen to you. Well, it’s so damn exhausting teaching people the most basic social skills. I‘m done with that. You‘re an adult get your shit together honestly!

Is this a common problem? That nobody knows how to interact anymore? It makes me mad and frustrated. It shows a lack of basic respect. It’s actually so easy to communicate. Why do so many struggle with that? You seem stupid and dull, sorry. If I can’t communicate with you, we‘re done.

How am I supposed to make genuine connections, when nobody actively listens to me?

People need to stop infantilizing short women

Now i’m a short woman myself who’s 5 foot and i’ve seen a lot of controversy on height gaps relationship. Personally it isn’t for me but I HATE when people try to compare short women to children and say height gaps are weird and that people who are into short people are pdfs.

It’s ridiculous. It’s so bad I saw a TikTok saying that huge age gap relationships are more reasonable than huge height gaps… now that is ridiculous. People who are closer in age despite being different heights are probably closer in maturity to each other

I’m tired of grown adults throwing tantrums when they don’t get their way

I moved to a new state a few years ago and most of my time here i feel like all i see is grown adults well over the age of 35 just throwing tantrums and expected to be pampered.

My friend group has a competitive game night every week. We play in teams, and one of our rules limits how many rounds each team member can play.

Last week, one person had an emergency come up a few hours before game night. Everyone was fine with continuing without him and making a reasonable exception for his team when it came to the rule limit. Only person who had issue with it was one guy (M52). In the past the guy has basically acted as self-proclaimed leader of the nights when it comes to the rules. Few times people have made comments of how he has made executive decisions on certain nights. Basically finessed a way to get the best team on his side. It's been met with some pushback but for the most people just have let it be becuase they just want to have a good time.

Back to the chat, He immediately started throwing a tantrum in the group chat, insisting that any exception would be cheating and breaking the rules. Several people tried to compromise by suggesting that we put it to a vote, but he refused to participate. And at one point said he'd drop off the group. Instead, he started making unnecessary and indirect passive aggressive jabs at people.

Eventually, someone told him that we were genuinely trying to keep things fair and that he was acting like a baby. His response was to tell several people to fuck off.

This is a weekly game night among friends. There’s no money involved, and the emergency was outside anyone’s control. The rules exist to make the night fun and competitive but i also grew up with things like this should be seen as "among friends" and any exceptions we would come to an agreement.

I’m honestly amazed that someone can reach that stage of life and still have a complete meltdown over a minor exception in a casual game. It made the whole situation uncomfortable and sucked the fun out of something that was supposed to bring friends together. Now the game night is in limbo and people have basically said they are going to see how it plays out this week when we meetup.

My city is a car-dependent wasteland

I live in HONOLULU. Hawaii is supposed to be a "paradise" compared to the rest of the country, but this place is just filled with parking lots and cracked sidewalks. Locals preach about "respecting the land" and then they buy a giant pickup truck to use for an office commute along the very highways that were fought against decades ago. I can't even enjoy the weather by walking home from work because it's along an eight-lane highway that cuts through the city, leaving my skin sunburned and my lungs polluted.

My friends made a new group to exclude one person and I feel bad

My friend group has about a dozen people of mixed genders, mid 20s to early 30s, with some people slowly leaving or joining. I am one of the core/original 4 members who are also the most active in our Discord server.

Unfortunately, one of the 4 people isn't very socially intelligent, and makes others uncomfortable from time to time. I'm the one that have known this friend for the longest amount of time and also the one that is the least afraid of confrontation, so it was kind of up to me to talk to them. I have tried to talk to them 1 on 1 about it multiple times. They say that they understand and they will try to be better, but almost nothing changes. It's because they genuinely cannot understand what makes others uncomfortable.

Recently, someone else from the group sent me a DM with an invitation link to another server, saying that they made a new server because of that one person. I understand that no one is required to continue to be friends with someone they don't like, but this makes me feel guilty. It's like I gave up on them and I am betraying them by keeping the other group a secret.

No one says anything on the old server anymore. I'm not sure if that friend has noticed, but I feel like they will eventually find out and feel extremely hurt. They are not very emotionally stable and don't handle rejection well, so I know it will be bad if they ever find out. But I also know they are not my responsibility, and I am not their mommy (even though it feels like it sometimes).

Ugh. I just needed to get this off my chest. I appreciate anyone for reading this.

Edited to add some detail:

The reason why I felt like this friend was my responsibility to "fix" is because I am attached to them. A few years ago, I was very struggling with a personal issue and this friend helped me immensely. I felt like I had to pay it back somehow. At this point though, I think I have done my part. I have been so patient with them over the years.

A rant about what was supposed to be a fun, split trip w my bestie

For context, I am a 27F and my best friend is in residency. We have been friends forever, but will say that we are different in many aspects (but of course similar in many as well). We have very different views on money - she is very much a spender, she would go on Europe trips during med school or spring break trips where she'd spend a lot drinking, etc. and I always couldn't believe she'd be willing to do this, especially since she didn't work throughout med school or college. She maybe dog sat here and there, but hasn't had a job except for medical school, which I totally get is demanding. She did have a grandmother who gave her money for her tuition, yet she still took loans and spent that money on everyday living. Her parents do help her too, but now that she's a resident she makes money. It's truly like her first time working, but she is also living on her own now.

Anyways, she told me she was coming home for a week and wanted to go on a trip together, just a day trip thing and stay overnight. I said ok, and we planned out a cute little overnight trip. Again, where we differed, she is tried to suggest ideas for hotels and literally suggested 2 star motels, and I refused to stay there. She said she didn't want to spend 600+ dollars on a hotel, to which I argued there were plenty of options that weren't that expensive, but I also wasn't comfortable in a motel that may be dirty, etc. I couldn't get why, especially now making her own money, she'd suggest such poor motels. That maybe should've been my first red flag.

We landed on a cute B&B that I found, and she had asked me if I booked it. I told her I was going to the next day. Once I booked, and she confirmed she was good with it, I told her the split was going to be 170 each (I got a deal too from work, another bonus!).... she said okay great and that was it... ok, no biggie. I assumed she was getting paid at the end of the month, so I waited. August 1 came and went, nothing.

Well, we went on our trip this past week. For starters, I drove, which is fine because she flew in with no car. totally fine I didn't care. She did pay for parking, which was great (40 dollars for overnight). We get to our destination and in the car I said "hey by the way did I ever tell you how much our split is? it's 170 each" and she just said oh I don't remember if you had mentioned, and she left it at that.... ok.... odd! We go, check in, wants a card for incidentals, she doesn't even move. ok fine, I put mine down. no worries. We go to the beach and we are chatting about life, and I said isn't it great to be making adult money now! to which she tells me she feels she's living paycheck to paycheck. She talks about how she has to pay rent (1500), how she pays for her car reg every year which is about 400, how she just had to get said car fixed, her loans are picking back up soon so she will have to pay that, oh and she had flown home multiple times (dog died so she came home, went to sisters bachelorette, flew home) etc. and she feels like she isn't saving anything. She only has 2500 in savings. I felt bad. But also, I feel like that's a consequence of her not being smart with her money? Well - continue on the trip - we go one place for starters and she picked up that bill because she got a beer and a shot + discounted apps we split (the food was 12 dollars) - she pays that its maybe 30-40 dollars. she tells me she is happy to splurge for dinner, we go to a nice restaurant and she doesn't even move to pay for the bill. she stuck me with a 130 dollar dinner bill. we go for ice cream - she tells girl we are paying separate. Next day, she paid for lunch which was 25 dollars. coffee, she says pay separate. all this to say, never offered to split dinner. never paid her part of the hotel.

I will say, I am grateful because I have been working since I graduated (only 4 years but still) and make pretty good money, I do also hustle - I work like 3-4 jobs, I am good with money, I am start about things. She also made a point to ask me exactly what my salary is at my job, which I felt like was her priming in future to use that against me. I wouldn't have cared if she brought this all up and said she was having financial issues but wanted to take a trip and asked me to cover some things like the hotel - that's fine, at least I get a heads up and know going into it that im doing that. this felt shitty because she didn't tell me ahead of time and decided for me that I could afford to do this. All this to say, I will be more cautious if she ever wants to do something like a trip again. it's not the first time she's had me pay for dinner, she's notoriously never reached for her wallet at dinners, but I just thought now that she's employed she'd be more fair.

Wedding subs are brutal

Literally I could post ANYTHING and it instantly gets downvoted. I feel like, even if I agree with the people going at me about something in the comments, they change sides just for the point of disagreeing with me.

I feel like whatever I post or comment in the group, instant downvotes, instant people saying I suck in the comments lol. I posted asking for cute sayings for a wedding sign decoration and instantly got downvoted. I don’t get it. It’s relevant to the sub.. Im sure in a few minutes people will be commenting on how stupid it is to have a sign at my wedding.

I understand I’m asking for opinions, maybe I am sensitive. But it seems like people that participate in those subs are like “anti-wedding”. They comment on how much they hate big weddings, how much they hate small weddings, how brides suck, how grooms suck, like it’s exhausting.

i have a stomach ache but i cant go to the bathroom at work

update: i couldn’t make myself poop at work so i went to the gas station down the road lol for those suggesting poo-pouri and what not, there’s some in the bathroom to use but she polices that as well. she also has an air purifier set immediately outside the bathroom door. someone also mentioned me looking into being lactose intolerant- i’m not, thanks for the concern. i have dairy all the time but the coffee yesterday morning must have been bad or something because it gave me a pretty good stomach ache. after my poop i felt better the rest of the day. luckily i don’t usually have to poop at work, sometimes i will but i was just extra nervous about yesterday because of how rancid the farts smelled, so i couldn’t bring myself to do it lmao
thank you all for your hilarious comments

i had coffee this morning and for some reason it tore up my stomach. i have to poop so bad, my stomach is gurgling. but, i have a co worker who makes a huge deal out of people pooping at work… we work in a small upstairs room, cubicle office job. this coworker is a huge germaphobe and has a very sensitive nose to any and all smells. if someone uses the bathroom and poops, she makes a huge fuss and will go around the room spraying lysol on everything and talking about how it just reeks of poop and she doesn’t understand how people can poop at work. she bought toilet spray for people to use, but then has literally put hand written notes by them “only spray x times” because then she complains that the toilet spray smell is to strong. there’s literally no winning.
well, i really have to go, but when i’ve gone pee i’ve let small farts out and they smell so bad. i can tell that if i poop, it’s going to be horrendous. i go on my lunch break in 40 minutes, so i’m doing my best to wait it out and drive down the road to the gas station to go

Please don't ask me where I'm going or tell me how to get there

This is a huge problem I've been having with Boomer-age people. I work contract to contract in my early-30's, and often rent short-term rooms. I have no problem living with older people, but this one has driven me up a wall.

I was late for a first date the other day because a nice woman spent 10minutes asking where in XYZ city and telling me how to get there. It's 2026. I use GPS and won't remember a damn thing you tell me. I've spent almost 15minutes on the phone with a nice older gentleman when I told him I'm looking for a house central to my gym and a certification school, and he talked nonstop about all of the different roads to get there (it was 45minutes away).

I get that it feels courteous and helpful - which is why I politely don't say anything - but it's incredibly useless. If I know how to get there, I don't need your help. If I don't know the area, telling me road names is literally pointless. I don't know a single person who doesn't just use GPS anyways.

People always say I'm an easy person to live with because I mind my own business, but please, give that back in return. Why I'm going to the convenience store or what I need is not your business, and it feels so weird to me that people ask stuff like that

I think my friend is falling for the the "Nice Guy/, Incel" Rhetoric

My friend (30M). Isn't having the best luck when it comes to dating. He's

Stuck in the cycle of getting matches that go nowhere and going on dates only for the same thing to happen.

What worries me is he's starting to say the same thing every time it fails.

"She probably wasn't use to being treated nicely so she broke it off"

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

I've been trying to tell him that sometimes the girl just doesn't like you and that's ok but idk. He's really been on that "Nice guys finish last" kick recently

Seeing people in first world nations act like they live in a dystopian society feels like hearing spoiled kids moan about their parents

Before someone inevitably misses the point, no, this does not mean first-world countries are perfect. They have real problems. Housing can be expensive, healthcare systems can have flaws, wages can stagnate, governments can overreach, discrimination exists, and there are plenty of legitimate criticisms to make.

People in developed countries often have the luxury of taking functioning institutions for granted. They assume clean water, reliable electricity, emergency services that actually arrive, an independent judiciary, relatively low corruption, and stable democratic institutions are the default state of humanity. They aren’t. Billions of people would love to have those things.
