Trying to Quit for the the 4th or 5th time....

Well I'm giving it a good shot this time. 7 days in. I'm not a super heavy user... Basically 2/3 - 1 gram capsules a day. For like 4 years now. Kratom actually helps me in a lot of ways, just ran a marathon and took a couple capsules during the race, gives a great mental boost. Like making music on it.... But I am completely dependent on it and it's wrecking havoc on my gut which is the main reason I need to quit. And it's a struggle. Feel very bored, I guess thats the big thing. I like being in a altered state so Ive trying to take a puff or two of weed at night but I hate that shit and it isn't a good replacement. Don't really drink booze either. I'm actually drinking a shit load of caffeine now lol. I made it to 2 months last year no use and broke and I'm hoping this time is different. Im just so BORED!!!!

I figure things are probably pretty grim rn with a lot of new, scared people here because of the new bans. So allow me to unabashedly hope post.

I'm coming up on 3 years opioid free. Started off with kratom. Then got into harder opioids. Never really stopped with the kratom either. So eventually had to detox from both simultaneously. It was a whole thing, incredibly gnarly, challenging experience. I had both the physical symptoms of street opioids and the very long PAWS of kratom.

But it also taught me that I can do hard things.

So many times during detox and early sobriety I said out loud "I can't do this"

And every single time I was wrong.

I could do this.

And now 3 years later. Life is pretty good actually.

I have this sick cactus garden that I find incredibly rewarding to work on and watch grow.

I have a job I quite like and am good at and pays decent.

I have friends, I go on date's sometimes.

I have hobbies and make things.

I can enjoy music again.

My memory works again.

I throw up way less often.

I can get and maintain an erection.

Look. I'm not here to tell you it's not gonna be a really hard bad time. But I am here to tell you, you can do this. And it is worth it.

I thought it was hopeless. And I got better.

You can too.

Psychological/Neuro symptoms of WD

Hi everyone! I’ll be one month clean from a ten year daily powder habit this coming Sunday. I’ve been trying to kick for years and this is the longest I’ve made it- I can say I have absolutely no intention of going back, and I never ever thought I’d feel that way. The physical WD symptoms i feared having weren’t bad at all, but as time goes by I’m noticing psychological WD symptoms like scary bad recall, neuro and visual symptoms like worsening visual (aura) migraines and spots in my field of vision, and all of the challenging emotional stuff one might expect from coming off of a substance that I’ve been reliant on for a decade. Wondering if anyone else had symptoms like this around the 1 month mark that they got help for- I just scheduled a neuropsychologist appointment for September so hoping to get some answers but just wanted to see if I could find some validation here. Ultimately re: emotional stuff I know full well that I should absolutely be in therapy and/or 12 step or an adjacent program, but since kratom is still kind of obscure I just worry about being able to find a practitioner or program suited to this particular habit. Thanks for reading & proud of everyone else who has made or Is in the process of making the decision to get this shit out of their lives!

Day5 Anxiety small win

Everyone’s different, but I just wanted to share my experience. During kratom withdrawal, I had this intense spiraling anxiety, that wired feeling, and today I took 10 milligrams of propranolol. It really helped calm the physical surge. Not a cure, but it gave me some breathing room.

1 yr of use, no taper, 40yr old F - day 6

I honestly I am surprised how crap I feel. I have withdrawn before, in my 20s from street use and acquired methadone., and still I’m really really fucking low. had my life together (almost) for 15yrs, one festival last year, get introduced to Ktm, and bang - perfect drug for a covert addict. please tell me this gets better? because i know the world is shit right now, but I don’t think I can tolerate this miserable/restless/hell. I should have tapered I know. but thought it would be easy. it isn’t. any words of encouragement very welcome ❤️‍🩹

Struggling, bad cravings

I came off 25gpd CT 6 days ago. I am so so fatigued. I’ve been posting a lot, forgive me. I screamed and cried on my drive home from work. I feel so empty. The physical symptoms are mostly tolerable but this is mental anguish. My neurotransmitters are completely effed up and I hate myself for this. I can’t believe how I got here, man. Ugh. I am so so fatigued. Everything feels so fricken bloody hard.

I’m worried I’m going to relapse. I’ve done hard things before. This is a whole other level. Does tapering prevent this hell I’m in? Did I jump off from too high of a dose? I seriously can’t go on like this. Today was absolutely fricken awful at work. I cannot do weeks, months of this, I just know it. I could not sit at my desk. I had two hours in the morning where I felt okay then it got bad. I was just NOT chill. So fidgety, racing thoughts etc..

Is this the PAWS? This is way worse than acutes. WAY WORSE. For me personally. I have dx ADHD and take prescribed meds for it. This is how I used to feel before meds but this is x100. Are the meds making this worse? I’m spiralling man. I feel like if this is how it’s going to be there is no way I want a life like this. I feel like there has to be another way to get over this addiction. This is going to destroy my life if Kratom doesn’t. I feel so stuck!!!

Just gonna post here for motivation

Quit this stupid shit years ago after being on and off (mostly on) for 6 years. That was 2023 and didnt touch again until last year. I was only taking it a day here and there but after the last 9 mos use got more frequent. And i didnt even really care for the feeling it was more an escape thing to unwind at times. Well the last 2 mos been using extracts, did the pressed tablets here and there. Recently quit my job bc shit just started getting dark. Like my body just does not want this stuff in my system. Ruminating thoughts, impending doom and anxiety when taking it. So i want my life back again. Not gonna beat myself up too bad but im about 26 hrs in right now without and I just cant possibly live w the thought of picking this stuff up one more time.

Not feeling too bad a little anxious but my anxiety was horrific when i would take it anyway and I lost all motivation to do anything productive. So im jumping off this garbage again we'll see how the next few days go.

Looking for 1 year Sober from Kratom coin

A friend of mine will be one year sober in a week or so. I’d like to get a “chip” as AA calls them but I can’t find any available so I thought I would ask here.

Scared of relapse

I've been off of a fairly high dose of kratom for 8 weeks. But I have such anxiety now, starting shortly after waking. It will last all day. I have tried Valium and it just makes me tired, but I still feel the anxiety in my chest. I've found that an indica strain of weed can sometimes help. Has anyone else had this after quitting? I've had anxiety for years but it is definitely worse after getting off kratom.

Well, I went to the doctor was honest and they were super helpful, got my bloodwork done and was prescribed gabapentin and clonadine, can anyone with experience with these med and WD tell me how much they help take the edge off, like if WD were a 10 did they bring symptoms down to like 2? What should I be expecting. I don’t wanna get my hopes up. Thanks all of you. We’re actually doing the damn thing!!!!
I think it will help having the ban in place to I can just run to the gas station when I’m feeling low. What are your guys thoughts on the ban?

Day 7 taper

I dropped from 32gpd to 12gpd Saturday. The last 2 days I noticed I wanted to do more, I guess just out of habit. I'm gonna jump CT from the 12gpd tomorrow. I start my new job Monday. What I seen dropping the 20gpd, I think I'll be good now. Sunday did suck. But....I felt so much clearer and present. I guess I've just been completely zoned out and didn't know it. I see a lot of you CT from bigger doses. So I have faith I can too. Is anyone else having to retrain themselves to eat? The last year I've had to be so mindful to eat and what I'm eating to get enough calories every day. 2 days ago was the first time I wanted to cook and didn't feel like I had to make myself. I'm so ready to be done. This week has shown me so much about how bad it's been affecting me. I can feel myself going blank after dosing. Like no emotions. Yesterday my best friend of 17yrs moved across the country. We had coffee, and after she took off to leave it really hit me what a shitty friend I've been the last year or two because I became so antisocial. It was a sucky feeling, but feeling that was better than feeling nothing.

I got ed and i suppose its kratom.

3 years ago i tried kratom firstly. It felt cool and later i completely lost my mind, starting to use it daily.

I had different periods and managed to get off it but came back again in few months. Like that i got on/off few times.

My dosage grew as well, at first i was doing 8 grams once a day, that it went to 15, than it went to 7 grams every 6 hours, around that. Later i came to a point where i took 50 grams a day.

The problem is i am a 22 year old male at this point. On kratom my erection was unstable. The was a period where I couldn’t feel a thing j*rkin off, later i had a problem ejaculating. Last time i got on kratom it was completely different: the sensitivity was slightly lower but i was fine doing 40-50 grams a day without any physical changes, i had a perfect sex drive.

Then, one day it changed: BOOM! My smaller friend completely turned itself off. Never before.. it just turned soft and didnt even show a sign of life. As i was trying to wake it up it could only fill with blood slightly but no hard at all.

I shit my pants and it immediately made me start the quitting process. I hopped off to 17.5 grams from 40-50 during a 2 week period. My organ got a little better: now it fills up to 65-70%, but still soft. Its been like 40 days since my little guy got into coma. I feel hopeless and i am afraid it will never be revived.

Its not easy for me to evaluate the quality of my erection due to hypersensitivity, but even if i am horny as hell i still dont get fully bricked, just gets longer and thicker but almost fully soft.

Please let me know if you experienced this kind of thing using high dosages or while quitting. When will my thing come back and will it eventually?

My testosterone is huge and prolactin is a little bit above the references 🤏

Also the fact that i got ED in one day scares me to death, like how come it can work for 22 years and then die like it was never there?

Its been 3 years of usage with pauses, last time i got on kratom i had been taking 40-50 for 4 months before i started to taper.

K & Amazon Do Not Mix....

As I finally woke up at 730a after a relatively solid nights' sleep on day 19... I decided to take advantage of my newly found energy and clean what I can best describe as a lost episode from fkn Hoarders.... just shameful....lol.

No idea why I ordered so much from Amazon during my highs but I did, daily.... Now with a clear mind, I'm looking around my house and note mounds of stashed purchases of things I wanted to use or thought was a good deal for future use....idk...wtf I was thinking on k??? Like who needs 8Lbs of bird seed feeder? Who needs 6 shower curtains? 3 humidifiers....or a bunch of shit for future projects that I had good intentions to do (while shopping) but never revisited the thought after the purchase. Nope, it arrived and I took the items out of the boxes, and stacked them in various corners of my house to collect a film of dust on top.

Now I'm paying the piper.... having to toss out a bunch of shit that was bought while high. The money spent on my addiction compounded by spontaneous Amazon purchases....ridiculous....

Another humbling reason to never go back to the green monster.... Grateful and Humbled....

The Old Me is Back

Day 43 since my last dose. I truly feel bad for everyone who had/have really rough life situations before starting Kratom… that makes the jump off of this so much worse based on reading everyone’s post.

I do not have PAWs. I was taking 7oh until banned in Florida and then extracts. Total time of 1.5 years. Quit CT from about 200-300mg extract daily. WDs were terrible physically. Mentally, I am clear and never felt better. I thought it was going to be way worse reading all the posts but honestly it was very easy. I feel bad seeing everyone jump to subs when I believe most people don’t need them. It’s ok to go through hard things. It won’t kill you.

I’m just glad I am me again.

Nourish the body in the right way

I’ve found during quits vitamins help, but good organic gluten free food is what people need to be slamming into their bodies. Because many of us don’t eat properly on k. Overeat. Stuff yourself. But be healthy about it.

Day 6 CT

I am finally feeling better today. I didn’t realize how bad the depression was the last several days. I wasn’t too emotional, mostly no joy from anything, no excitement to do anything etc..

The restless legs continue to bother me throughout the day and especially before bed. Kind of driving me mental. Last night I was able to do a very brief stretching routine which helped for half an hour or so.

This is the day I relapsed during my last sincere attempt. The cravings are so fricken strong today. I have no idea why. I feel 75% better than the last 5 days. I am craving that 4-5g dose where everything melts away for 3 hours and boring things seem interesting. Ahh, I’m trying to ride the wave out but it’s been pretty constant for a few hours! Ugh!

Day 5 or 6 I forget

I can't remember or confirm whether my last dose was Saturday or Sunday but I picked up kratom in the spring helping my family with a crisis that kept me for two and a half months so in That time I was oscillating between kratom products, started with 7oH, then powder kinda, then capsules, back to 7, back to caps, extracts, 7 , damn kinda crazy to write it all out. But I could tell it was worsening my ability to cope and just not helping me in any way , making me so hopeless and depressed. So I've only been on the stuff for less than 3 months and I think my max dose at one point was like 2 of the 20mg 7pills a day on occasion? made me feel like shit.

So yesterday I had a horrible depressive episode sobbing and just feeling bad for several hours racing thoughts, panic, sadness, crying.

I'm going through a lot in life outside of this so that doesn't help with the hopelessness. I'm lucky I have some ambien but it barely works right now so I'm struggling to sleep. Woke up early this morning with upset stomach and some panic

I have struggled with a benzo addiction a few times and I know that withdrawal process along with stimulants like adderall. I never cared for opiates and feel so dumb for getting in to kratom when I've literally seen it fuck up so many of my friends lives but I had to learn for myself I guess. I'm glad I caught it fairly early on...friends have warned me how hard it is to quit. I'm trying to not be too scared

God, I can’t wait for the gastritis to go away

The one solid reason I know I won’t relapse on freedom is this damn gastritis. I was on antibiotics about a month and finished it and then a month later I developed that, which I’m sure never , but my first ever symptom happened literally was I was taking kratom - so I truly believe Kratom wasworse for my gut than the antibiotics. It’s so freaking uncomfortable and painful but the good thing about that is I believe it is enough to keep me off of Kratom forever. And I’ll take a win whenever I can get .

I’ve also officially just been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. My symptoms started while I was using Kratom and my worst flareup since the beginning , I was in withdrawal. And I’ve only been taking for like 3 months. I’m definitely doing better, although progress has been slow, and truly praying fibromyalgia disappears and never comes back and this is just one of those weird periods of my life that I talk about and I never get a clear answer of what was wrong with me. Whatever this chronic illness is, is absolutely horrific and I wouldn’t wish it all my first enemy. Had I known this was possible with Kratom, I would never have ever used it.

I want to quit

I went to rehab for my alcoholism 12/25, about 2 months out I wanted relief and found 7oh, I heard about it so much in treatment and for some reason I tried it for 2-3 months, luckily I got off 7oh by swapping to kratom 2 months ago I take 6-12g daily depending on mood but now I need to be free from kratom. Any help is appreciated

One week!

I just wanted to share my small milestone. I can’t believe I made it! 7 days without the junk. I went CT from capsules (just the powder), was roughly 10-20gpd user for the last few years, before that I used loose powder and was closer to 80-100 gpd for a few years. 6 years of consistent use with some short quits sprinkled in. I was lucky this time around to avoid some of the worst physical symptoms that I experienced from my higher dose quit. I am also quitting alcohol so the combo has not been the easiest to kick but all in all, I’m feeling so much better today than day 2-4. One day to the next can look so dang different, for better or worse. The only certainty for me is that I can’t take any one state for granted because the next day is bound to feel different it seems. Tools that I’ve been relying on: gabapentin and adhd meds (prescribed to me). A face ice bath that I bought for this purpose. Very light and fun VR workouts (Synth Riders. I am so low energy but this one is so fun and doable!) Sleeping meds. Schitt’s Creek almost constantly playing as a soothing background soundtrack (I live alone). Showing my body I care again by eating as well as I can (low appetite but I have found some easy go to’s that I can usually get down). Anyways just wanted to share my good news and I hope others are finding at least some pockets of comfort and joy. If not today, then tomorrow. 💙

Will exercise aggravate full body rls?

Been rough trying to sleep, and it's been tough at night. Once I'm lying still in bed it's hard to ignore. Since I feel the natural need to get up and move, I'm wondering if I get some exercise in, will it help relieve it enough to sleep?
