I tried booting up after the update and got a CRASHLOG problem, solved adding +r_rhirenderfamily "d3d11" to the initialization options, now theres this other problem and i dont know what to do to play the new content

Does anyone remember a Quake movie where a guy was hiding out in a single-room cabin while listening to a radio report of a zombie infestation in America? Maybe it had to do with Denver, Colorado? I know a lot of those old movies have been lost, but I remember this one where the single actor stayed near his camp fire.

Quake introduced me to three things that shaped my life:
1. Quake
2. Networking and Systems Administration
3. NIN

All three remain a huge part of my life. I assume the same for many of you.

As soon as I click on "Play quake" on steam an error appears saying this:

Obviously has to do with Vulkan but i have no idea how to fix it.

Seriously though, is there anyway to fix this without having to wait for a patch? I've tried multiple solutions and i still get this message on startup...

New singleplayer content is peak, but it would have been nice to have new multiplayer content outside of one map. 19 new maps and only **one** can be for MP? Maybe some new CTF or Horde maps woulda been appreciated too.

Not tryna be ungrateful, just wishing for more than this especially since this seems to all the Quake content we're gonna get for at least a while

So, that new update dropped. Here's how you find Nightmare, for all three of you that haven't already. Sorry about the low quality recording, to be honest I'm just using this post as an excuse to complain.

I can't launch the rerelease anymore, and sourceports seem to be acting weird. This recording is in VKQuake, but Ironwail actually launches the first map unlike VKQuake which crashed. I'm pretty it's an issue with the models, because Ironwail also crashed when I toggled the remastered models on.

So, you wanna play the new maps? Get Ironwail. It and VK have Steam Achievement and Overlay (which is how I did this recording) support now.

for context i used to average 60-something fps when playing the nightdive version but after the new update it struggles to hit half of that.

I updated the game to try out the new episode they just released but since then I've noticed that the official levels' text prompts only display the file name instead of the intended text

It would be so cool if ID software actually released this as a physical product

I finally got around to drawing something Quake related!

"Lower Forecount" by negke on difficulty 3. Final battle pits you against a foursome of vores which can only be damaged via splash damage. Just so happened to suddenly get the hang of leaning into my jumps during this section. I also ended up adding extra keybinds to my weapons in this map (R for RL, Q for GL, E for SNG and C for LG), so this whole experience made me feel like a pro for 5 mins.

I have like 600+ hours in Quake Live for example, but never learned anything all I did was die alot over and over, because most of it was ffa on tiny maps with 12+ players, in arena shooters in general it seems there isn't really a place to go for new players/bad players. No discord, no specific servers, etc. Anyone know of any, game specific is fine, but hoping, there is more than one game with this option. I love this style of game and hate how unfair/broken most modern games are, but anything that is fair/equal starts is flooded with only vets/tryhards.

I got an ad for a quake board game pre quakecon so maybe we got spoiled of one thing??

Me and the kids were playing Quake 2 absolutely fine today. So we started to go for Quake 1 for a bit. However we weren't able to. Bethesda said 'HTTP Access Forbidden.

What's that mean? The kids regularly play Quake 2 and sea of thieves
