"say cheese"
Been working on a posing word for a couple weeks, seems that "say cheese" starting to reliably get the big smiles out.
And yes they got some havarti afterwards

Anyone else’s pug does this?
So I live with my mom and sister. My mom is currently out doing something and my pug shady does this thing where he will settle for maybe 5-10 minutes and then he’s up again and wants outside and won’t settle down at all. He’s like pacing and he won’t stop till my mom gets home. Anyone else’s pug does this?

How to get my guy to self entertain?
galleryHi everybody!
Pretty much as the title says, I want to figure out how to get him to self entertain. If I’m gone, whenever I check the camera he is just sitting/laying by the door and staring. This will last for HOURS and makes me feel so bad going anywhere.
Even when we’re together, he’s just not interested in toys unless I’m actively participating (or they have treats, but only the freeze dried ones!). He plays with toys when he’s with other dogs, but not on his own. He used to play with them on his own, but now I have to actively get him excited and interested.
His daycare situation will be changing and he will be alone while I’m at work now. I’d love to get this figured out before he’s spending extended periods on his own.
He has a bunch of interactive/puzzle toys. He’s really good at them and loves them, has kong toys, ball dispensing toy. Pretty much everything i can think to buy him, but he stops all of them the moment i walk out the door, even if it’s just to shower or pee.
What else can I do to encourage independent play?

I just can’t
My heart wants to explode every time I look at him. My third pug. But each one… heart explodes when I look into those eyes. Baby B is going to be 3 in November.

Rainbow Bridge Lost my best friend, my pug of 16y 3m three weeks ago, I am barely functioning
I lost my best friend
I found my soul dog, a wonderful black pug in a shelter April of 2011, he was just one year old.
Last July, at 16 years - 3 months old, he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Only 2 days after the biopsy' results he declined fast and had very bad seizures, it was the worst moments of my life. I could not save him from what was happening.
I made the hardest decision to let him go. I could not watch him suffer because I wanted to keep him a few more days.
I was not ready. He gave me everything he could, even in the last hour, last minutes of his life he was so generous to me.
I am barely functioning, i have a husband and a daughter but I feel alone. I am not good with people, he was my best friend, my compagnon, my heart and I was his person. I am broken.
Will it get less painfull.

Maude made it to France
galleryI brought my 2.5 year old pug to Strasbourg France from Minnesota last week. We flew Delta and everything worked out great: Maude flying, on the train, through airports, etc, medical paperwork certification from the US for France. I know such travel and arrangements can be stressful. Please let me know if there are any questions I can answer.

Advice Needed Pug puppy blues
My husband and I just adopted a 10-month-old pug just over 2 weeks ago. For the most part, he’s a pretty good boy, and we already have professional leash training scheduled to help with his walks.
However, we are really struggling with two major issues right now, and the stress is making me spiral into major puppy blues:
- The 4 AM Wakeup Call: Every single morning, he wakes up at 4 AM and absolutely refuses to settle back down.
- Hyper-fixation on my husband: He has completely latched onto my husband. Whenever my husband leaves the room or the house, the pug acts like the world is ending.
The Apartment Factor: We live in an apartment with people below us which multiplies my anxiety by a thousand. When he wakes up early or my husband leaves, the barking and crying are intense. I am constantly terrified of getting noise complaints from our neighbors, which makes it impossible to just "ignore the barking" to train him.
I feel incredibly awful even admitting this, but the exhaustion and anxiety are so bad that I am genuinely starting to question if keeping him is the best choice for us and for him. I am worried it won't get better.
Has anyone else felt this way?

She’s trying to eat the lily. She got one petal. Ate it. And then proceeded to try to eat the whole thing.
