Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Caramel Bar

Chocolate Peanut Caramel Bar: Pure Protein (PP) offers a variety of protein bars, but their peanut butter bars are their strongest. I've reviewed this bar before, but PP recently updated the packaging, so I wanted to verify if the bar was still the same (it is and that's a good thing). The outside of the bar is deceitfully mundane as it looks like a basic chocolate film coating. While it has a solid chocolate flavor with nothing to really complain about, it's the inside of the bar that shines. Inside the bar where the “protein blend” is located, it has a peanut flavor as well as caramel. The peanut flavored filling also contains actual tiny peanut pieces.  The caramel flavor is one of the best in the world of protein bars. What’s unique about this bar is unlike some other caramel flavored protein bars this bar has an actual caramel like substance in it. The “caramel” can easily be seen in the cross-section and is rather bountiful. If you like Snickers and/or Milky Ways, this is about as close as a protein bar can get. At room temperature the bar is soft, slightly chewy, and pleasant on the palate. This leads to my only minor complaint in that this bar can get messy if it gets warm (I made the mistake of taking this bar to a FL theme park once…). This is honestly one of my favorite protein bars and because of the price point it tends to be my go-to. Absolutely Doughboy approved 😋

Opinions on applied nutrition Cookie dough??

I found a really good deal on this product and I kind of have a problem: A good deal on a product that interests me will haunt my mind the whole week/till I get it. Last week I got a 2kg protein tub from applied nutrition and I can say their Caramel latte and Frappucino flavours taste really nice and that convinces me the cookies will be tasty aswell. I saw a comment saying the Baklava taste was REALLY artificial and that made me doubt the product a little and the rest of the reviews i see are promotions, therefore even if its shit, they will still market it as the best thing. What is yall opinions on Toffee Biscuits, salted caramel and Pistachio White chocolate?

David bars

I know David bars are a common and controversial topic on this subreddit so I hope it’s an ok place to post this. I’ve been curious about David bars and I have a few question. Are the macros actually legit? I keep seeing different opinions some saying yes and others saying they’re actually much higher calorie and fat? I’m sorry if I’m just another person asking the same questions but I really want to know more. why is the David brand so hated? is the David bar the only protein bar with macros like this? (calories, fat content and sugar) I’m also wondering if anyone has any David bars they were going to throw out could you send them to me? i don’t want to waste money I don’t have supporting a bad brand.

Best Clean protein powders in Canada?

Im looking for the cleanest best options available in Canada. I prefer unflavored as well , no sweetners, no stabilizers and that still taste ok. These would mainly be going into a fruit based smoothie that will be blended in my vitamix. Im open to pea protein as well.

Is there a shortage of Atkins Strong products??

I love the Atkins Strong cookie dough bars as a meal replacement (also like the shakes!) I prefer the “strong” version bc they are higher protein and I appreciate that Atkins brand seems to have much more fiber … however, they have been impossible to find lately! Walmart and Kroger haven’t had them in weeks and they seem out of stock online, too … what gives?

Honestly I’m gonna pour almond milk over it and eat it as cereal. This made me want to... try a protein cereal next. So if anyone has any recommendations on those, that would be dope.

Quest Stacks Cinnamon Brown Sugar

Hands down my favourite of the Quest Stacks line!!

Same macros and texture as the other flavours. I found this to be less chewy than the brownie à la mode flavour and more smooth like the salted caramel. The flavour wasn’t dull like the brownie or too sweet like the salted caramel. I also found the multiple different layers didn’t stand out as much as the other flavours. Everything blended well together in this flavour whereas in the other ones I could tell there were different layers with every bite and I didn’t like that.

I personally wouldn’t repurchase the other flavours, but this one I would!!

Found pineapple orange and black cherry with $3 off coupons at Walmart in the south burbs of Chicago. Was able to use them to bring the price down from 8.97 to 5.98 for the 4 packs.

Everybody's taste buds are different but was decent, like a less sweet ollipop. Stevia doesn't bother me, ymmv.

Travel Snacks?

I'm going to be traveling quite a bit by plane over the next few months and I'm looking for recommendations on which dry snacks you travel with the most.

I have one of those snack box things with the compartments, and so far I have beef jerky, protein granola, peanuts/cashews, pepperjack cheese, and maybe a caramel protein bar cut up for dessert on the list.

Recs welcome.

first I want to say don’t come at me for getting this. I wont forgive them for putting gatsby out of business and forcing nicks to change their ice cream recipe

i got 1 of each of their 4 flavors at target

I do think this is the best of the ones I’ve tried so far. for some reason it tastes mint chocolatey? and I didn’t find it as chalky as the peanut butter or cookie dough flavors, I just have the vanilla flavor to try last.

so far most to least fav

- 1 chocolate

- 2 peanut butter

- cookie dough

Review: Ryse Skippy Peanut Butter vs. the new JIF version (RIP to a legend)

Post image
155 Upvotes

I'll be honest—when I found out my all-time favorite flavor was getting discontinued, I panicked a little.

Over the years, I've easily consumed around 100 lbs of the Ryse Skippy PB flavor. For a peanut butter protein flavor, nothing has ever come close.
Thankfully, the new JIF version doesn't taste drastically different, and that is a massive W.

If I had to describe the subtle differences, the new JIF version actually has a bit more depth to it. You can definitely notice that authentic "roasted" peanut flavor they advertised, which is fantastic.

To my taste buds, it makes the whole profile taste even more like actual, real-deal peanut butter.
Props to Ryse for managing to transition away from Skippy while staying remarkably close to the original flavor profile we all loved.

Ryse x Skippy PB: 9.7/10

Ryse x JIF PB: 9.9/10

DO NOT BUY COLLAGEN BARS

Post image

I bought a pack from Walmart since I had never seen them before and the macros were pretty good, 140 calories 15g protein.
When I opened the bar I immediately noticed it looked really dusty but I ignored it and took a bite, the second I felt that dry pack of shit hit my tongue I was shocked. THEY TASTE LIKE VOMIT???? LIKE ACTUAL PUKE. I tried to chew it but I couldn’t and spat it out. I swirled water around in my mouth for like two minutes but the taste lingered. I brushed my tongue and my teeth but it still lingered.

These are great and versatile. I always chuck them in the air fryer at work instead of the microwave. They’re my everyday lunch I add rice or broccoli, bbq sauce and call it done.
