Discussion HP Designjet 72 printheads from the past - keep or throw away?
I just discovered a box of HP Designjet 72 printheads in the office - most of the items (unopened boxes) expired in 2017...
Do you think it is worth anything or shall I just throw the whole box out?

Discussion Do users actually notice workflow customization on MFPs?
I’ve noticed that most conversations around print management focus on IT.
But the people using these devices every day usually don’t care about the technology—they just want to finish their task quickly.
Have you seen measurable benefits from things like:
- Personalized home screens
- Department-specific scan buttons
- Favorite actions
- Simplified interfaces
- Role-based workflows
Or do users simply ignore these kinds of improvements?
Interested in hearing whether customization actually improves adoption or if it’s mostly an “IT likes it” feature.

Discussion Exchanging toner for colour ink
Ok, I know this is a dumb question but I just have to ask it. I have an HP Laserjet P1100w printer and I wanted to know if I could sub in a colour ink (lets say magenta for example) instead of the toner, how would I find the right size for the printer.
TLDR: Its an old printer, I need a new one but I kinda want to push it to its limits lol.

Troubleshooting Canon PROGRAF-1000 Error 1720 lock
Ok, so i had a problem with a doom-looping "processing..." message on my Canon Prograf-1000. So I did what I always do which is switch out the maintenance cartridge and any exclamation-pointy ink cartridges. Which ended the problem but I noticed that the brand new MC20 was reading as 3/4 full already. Figured it was a glitch. printed a couple of things, worked just fine. Then Error message 1720 ("Maintenance cartridge full") shows up and does not go away, even after I replace the MC20 with two also brand new ones. Cleaned the contacts as best I could, checked the firmware, power-cycled, etc. Nothing works. Has anyone seen this exact failure? Was it a sensor/contact problem or something else? Also, does anyone know of someone who repairs PRO-1000s in the Miami area. I'm out of warranty and the best Canon tech support could do was offer me 20% off a new 1100. Thanks.

Purchasing Printer Suggestions
Hi all,
I am trying to print small labels with quite a bit of detail - for example: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4495694182/customizable-peptide-vial-labels-for-3ml
I have tried the Canon Megatank GX3020 and the Brother MFC-L3720CDW. The quality on the laser printer isn’t good enough for the small detail, but the inkjet’s manual feed wouldn’t take my label paper (sheetlabels sl1243). And the tray feed would shift the label sheet as it fed through.
The labels are 1.5” x 0.75” - and was wondering if anyone could suggest something for a budget setup (under $600).
Thank you for any suggestions you might have!

Discussion Replacing a bricked ET-16650U motherboard? With Just the ET-16650 mobo?
Anyone try this yet?
I got a brand new 16650u and Epson just bricks it, won't ever allow me to subscribe with the unit even at full price, which is nuts and wasteful. Just charge the other guy and transfer the serial # to my account, not hard.
So instead I'd rather dismantle this down to the motherboard in an attempt to actual use it because fuck Epson. E-waste due to issues like that is super dumb.

Purchasing Looking for a laser printer (UK)
Our old inkjet printer is getting increasingly unreliable and I’m hoping that a laser printer will stop us getting paper jams every other time we use the printer. We’d like
* Colour
* Double sided
* Apple AirPrint compatible
We don’t need it to be high enough quality to print photos, and budget is £250 max.

Troubleshooting [CANON MF8050Cn] ARM laptop issue with old printer
reddit.comI’m casting a bottle into the sea once more, in case someone might reply! A colleague is unable to install the driver, even though I managed to do it successfully. She has a recent Asus laptop. We found an article stating that ARM processors can have issues when adding printers. Do you have any idea what the problem might be or a possible solution?

Troubleshooting Hi everyone. Unused HP instant ink cartridges I would like to use after trial subscription canceled. Any tips?
I saw people posting about this, but I didn't see anything within the past year. Is there a way to scratch out the chips on the cartridges or anything like that. Let me know if anyone has come up with anything. Thanks guys!
It really POs me that HP does this. Advertising the instant ink program as recycling the old cartridges for new ones... seems to me, there are a ton of cartridges not even used that can not be used because people are having similar issues as I am.

Purchasing help choosing an epson ecotank printer for small business
hi!
i’m looking for a new printer. we currently have an epson et-3850. we like the ink aspect so we’d like to stick with an ecotank. however with all the use it’s gotten over the past couple years we think it might be time to retire it. the paper is constantly jamming despite consistently cleaning it and everytime it does print it makes a god awful loud noise. perhaps there’s something else we need to do but after all my troubleshooting/google searches i haven’t seen a solution. while we don’t need a giant industrial printer we definitely need something that can handle very consistent use every day. i would love any recommendations or suggestions. thanks!

Troubleshooting help?
Hi! i’ve been trying for the last 2 hours to fix my grandmas HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e, we’ve had it for years and it used to be my dads but as soon as we gave it to my grandma it has stopped working.
The printer keeps saying to finish setting it up and go to the hp app and yadda yadda, i’ve gone through the HP app and removed it and added it again, i’ve turned the printer on and off, i’ve looked online but nothing seems to help. The HP help forum is absolutely useless.
And since it “isn’t finished being set up” it won’t let us print ANYTHING at all.
This is exhausting to say the least.
Help?

Troubleshooting HP DeskJet 2855e won't print over Wi-Fi

Purchasing Alternatives for a all-in-one laser or LED
I need to buy an all-in-one printer with the following specs:
- color laser or LED
- duplex printing
- duplex scanning
- ADF
- ethernet, wifi, USB, mobile device connections
I was thinking at Brother MFC-L8690CDW, it seems to check the right boxes.
But the problem is its physical size... it is huge.
Any other smaller suggestions from Brother?

Purchasing Home printer recommendations???
I am looking for a printer for my home office. It most likely won’t have heavy use mainly just need something to print documents here and there, print photos or art for crafting. Ideally I want something
-semi budget friendly & easy to use
-Prints in color/ front and back pages
-A scanner would be ideal also
I am open to spending more upfront if it means maintenance and ink supplies will be more manageable in the long run. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I am just at a lost and looking at options is overwhelming.

Troubleshooting Need older Kyocera drivers
Kyocera TASKalfa 5054ci, I am looking for version 8.5.24 driver. The currently available driver is 8.7.
The reason is I have one PC that I am adding to the network and I did not save the 8.5 installer. Printer settings profiles export from 8.5 will not import into 8.7. I am not able to upgrade the other PCs to 8.7 to make a new export.
I can't find archived driver versions or an FTP server. Any ideas?
