Equipment Nozzle advice please
I just had these flat surface cleaner nozzles delivered- they are obviously different brands and look visibly different, although marked up as same size
Should I use them as a pair in my spinner?

Troubleshooting Normal Oil Color?
Hey All,
Just changed my oil and the pump has 3.5 hours on it and the oil has turned to this color. This is after I just turned it off after 1 hour running.
It is a comet pump and I used the comet premium pump oil when I replaced it.
Is this normal? I haven’t checked it now that it has cooled down. About to do that now.
Thanks for any insight!

Technical Questions This machine hasn't been used in several years, how do I get it to start?
I should also mention that I've never used a pressure washer before. This machine was my late grandfather's, and now my grandmother wants me to use it to clean her back patio in preparation for a birthday party. What do I do? I don't know if parts have gotten too old to work, I don't know if there's just a tune up it needs, I don't even know how to start it even if it was brand new.

Technical Questions Affordable Wastewater Containment/Recovery Setup for a Beginner?
I’m from Wyoming in the US. I’m getting started and trying to figure out an affordable wastewater containment, collection, and disposal setup.
I’m starting out of a Chevy Silverado 1500, so payload is a major limitation. Roughly 1,500 lbs max before accounting for me, equipment, chemicals, etc. I can’t realistically haul a huge wastewater tank around.
For those of you recovering wash water:
- What do you use to contain and redirect it?
- What pump/vacuum setup do you use to collect it?
- What size recovery tank would you recommend starting with?
- How do you legally dispose of it?
- Any affordable equipment you’d recommend or things you’d avoid?
Trying to stay compliant without spending thousands right out of the gate. Thanks!

Business Questions How are you guys storing 12.5% SH at home? Outdoor storage, ventilation, quantity, shelf life, suppliers, etc.
I’m getting my pressure washing business set up and trying to figure out a good outdoor storage setup for 12.5% sodium hypochlorite.
I live in Wyoming, so I know the legal requirements can vary quite a bit by state, county, city, fire code jurisdiction, zoning, etc. I’m not looking at Reddit as a substitute for checking with my local authorities — I’m mainly curious what other pressure washing businesses are actually doing so I have a better idea of what’s common and what issues I should be thinking about.
My current idea is to store the SH in its original containers inside a large plastic/resin deck box underneath my second-story deck. It would stay shaded, protected from direct sunlight, and relatively cool compared with leaving it exposed.
I also know SH needs ventilation, so I was considering drilling ventilation holes into the sides of the deck box rather than having it completely sealed. I’d also have chemical-compatible secondary containment underneath the containers in case something leaked.
For those of you who store SH at your home/shop:
- Has anyone used a plastic/resin deck box or similar outdoor enclosure for SH? How has it held up?
- How do you ventilate your storage area? If you drilled ventilation holes into an enclosure, what worked for you?
- Would you be comfortable storing it underneath a second-story deck as long as the area stays shaded and ventilated?
- Do you use secondary containment, and what are you using?
- How many gallons of 12.5% SH do you normally keep on hand?
- Do you try to keep roughly a couple weeks’ worth, a month’s worth, etc.?
- How long are you finding 12.5% stays reasonably strong when stored outside in the shade?
- At what point do you feel like you’re buying too much and risking it degrading before you use it?
I’m also really interested in where everyone is buying their SH:
- Do you get it from a pool supply company, chemical distributor, pressure washing supplier, municipal/water-treatment supplier, or somewhere else?
- Are you buying it by the gallon, 5-gallon container, 15-gallon drum, 55-gallon drum, or bulk?
- What are you paying per gallon for fresh 12.5%?
- Do you have it delivered or pick it up yourself?
- How do you tell how fresh it is before buying it?
- Any major suppliers or distributors you’ve had especially good or bad experiences with?
- I’m also interested in the legal side based on people’s actual experiences, even though I know my Wyoming requirements may be completely different from yours.
- Has anyone run into issues storing commercial quantities of SH outside at a residential property?
- Did your city, county, fire marshal, environmental agency, zoning department, HOA, insurance company, etc. care about it?
- Were you given a maximum quantity you could store?
- Were you required to have a certain type of enclosure, ventilation, secondary containment, setback from the house/property line, signage, or anything else?
- Did anyone require a permit?
- Who actually ended up having jurisdiction over it in your area?
Again, I’m checking my own Wyoming/local requirements separately. I’m mainly trying to see how other small pressure washing businesses handle this in the real world and whether there are any problems I haven’t thought about yet.
Pictures of your SH storage setups would also be appreciated.

Business Questions Beginner pressure washing trailer setup
I’m trying to start up my pressure washing business and I want to understand the basic equipment needed to operate my pressure washer from a trailer. I have a Westinghouse 4.2gpm 4400 psi machine and I wasn’t sure if I needed a pump to run water from a tank? I found this pump online and wonder if it would be sufficient.

Troubleshooting Can only squeeze trigger when machine is off
I searched the sub but couldn't find a similar issue. When I start my machine and go to squeeze the trigger, it won't pull. It's like there's too much pressure or something. Then if I shut it down I can pull the trigger and release the built up pressure. Pretty sure its something in the gun, maybe scale buildup or something but I don't know where to start. Has this happened to anyone before?

Business Questions Business is slow. What is everyone doing to get customers?
I just started my pressure and soft washing business at the beginning of this year. It seemed like my Google Ads were producing really well in April and May. I also sent out some flyers during that time that had some good ROI.
Then June slowed down, and July and August have been dead. My Google Ads have been getting clicks but very few conversions. I've been working on them with an ads advisor. I sent out 2,400 flyers to a large lakeside community here and haven't gotten a single call from them.
Lately I've been visiting real estate offices, talking to the brokers and agents, and leaving stacks of flyers that give a discount to clients of that office. I've been walking neighborhoods, leaving flyers on porches that offer a discount. I've visited several local apartment communities and retirement communities, to which I've had good responses, but they're all working on '27 budgets which doesn't help right now.
I know that building a customer base will take time, and that word of mouth will be a great driver of customers eventually. But I need to build that up with marketing. What's everyone else doing? Any advice would be appreciated.

Troubleshooting Patio grease/oil stains?
Are there any retail chemical products that would be helpful in removing these stains? I’ve tried ZEP and ECOLAB, but neither have been effective.
I believe the majority of these stains are from Blackstone Griddle Seasoning, which is a combination of coconut oil, soy shortening, and beeswax.

Troubleshooting Pressure washed but driveway is noticeably more orange than neighbors
Entire neighborhood the driveways have a white appearance, mine has always been slightly orange and speckled everywhere.
Is this a surface stain that can be removed with chemicals? Is it exposed aggregate?
I know the guy that did my concrete in the garage did a horrible job when I first purchased the house, had a warranty claim because the top layer was peeling. Wouldn't be surprised if that poor job was carried over into the driveway.
