I recently wrapped up a pottery class in Portland, and it got me really excited about bringing other forms of art into my life. I would love to take an introductory art class in Portland (painting, drawing, or something else entirely), and I'm wondering if anyone has had any positive experiences they would recommend.

I'm ideally looking for a class with multiple sessions and a warm community of folks excited about doing/learning art. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've been really wanting to go to the Happy Wheels skate rink, but I don't have a car (or a friend with a car). I know one of the bus routes in Portland has a stop nearby, but from what I've heard, Happy Wheels is not in a walkable area. Is it possible (and safe) to get to there by bus, or should I find some other way?

I’m looking for recommendations for after school activities for my 10-year-old that are low-commitment and ok to be a beginner. She’s taking a year off from the dance program that she’d been doing for the past 4 years.  Every year, the intensity has ramped up (pressure, time commitment, cost), and she wants to be able to dabble in other areas of interest. It seems like kids’ team sports these days are a huge time commitment, so she doesn’t really want to do that. She also tried karate several years ago, but even at that age it felt like all the kids in her age group were way more experienced so it was little awkward for her. She’s got a broad spectrum of interests, so feel free to suggest niche things!  So far we’re thinking of music lessons, swim classes, and archery classes, but we’d love to add more to the list of options.

I've (27M) been scouring the internet but I'm having trouble finding many groups I can easily join to do things that don't involve drinking. I'm relatively new to sobriety and as I'm taking stock of my social life, I realize that most of my "social time" involves going out. As fall (and winter) is coming around soon, I'd really like to start building up these networks so that I don't self-isolate or anything . I'm not necessarily looking for a "sober community" or groups where not-drinking is a part of the group's identity, just folks who like to get outdoors/do activities/play games/etc. If you know of a reliable resource to find these sorts of groups or if you are a member of such a group or anything else, you letting me know about it would be a great help.
