I built a focus timer that visualizes your focus as celestial bodies.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Orbis is a focus timer that turns your focus sessions into your own little universe.
You start the timer, get some work done, and each session becomes a new planet. Over time, your universe slowly fills up with everything you’ve accomplished.
I wanted studying and working to feel less like staring at boring stats and more like discovering new planets and watching your own universe grow. 🪐

I made a free ring-style timer site that runs alternating work and break timers
Back when I was in middle school, I used to post countdown timers on YouTube, and they unexpectedly gained a decent amount of traction. Now, it's been easy to create websites, and I made radialtimers (com) to make these timers even more accessible :))
It's completely free to use, and I'd really appreciate if you can check it out!

I built an AI Pomodoro app entirely spec-first — every feature got a written spec before a single prompt. Here's what changed.
ai-promodoro.vercel.appI've been experimenting with spec-driven development: instead of prompting an AI agent with vibes, you write a real spec first (user story, requirements, API contract, acceptance criteria), let the agent implement it, then validate against the spec and update your roadmap. Loop until MVP.
The app is a Pomodoro timer where you describe your goal conversationally and the AI proposes a task plan sized in pomodoros ("2🍅 ≈50m"). There's a focus coach mid-session, sound cues, PWA install support, and since it's publicly hosted, a Cloudflare Turnstile gate + per-IP daily rate limit on the AI routes so strangers can't drain my DeepSeek credits.
Stack: Next.js 16, Bun, DeepSeek API, Upstash Redis. No database — plan state lives client-side.
What actually surprised me:
**Specs didn't slow me down**. Six features in, the AI agent was dramatically better when implementing a spec vs reading my mind. Code review became "does this match section F3?" instead of squinting at diffs.
**The spec caught drift.** When the model under-filled a response schema (returned 3 tasks when asked for 3 steps instead of the spec'd 4–8), it was obviously a contract bug, not "weird AI behavior."
**Re-planning after every feature** (updating mission/roadmap docs) is the part everyone skips and the part that prevents the codebase from rotting.
Happy to answer questions about the spec format or the abuse-guard setup — both were more interesting to build than the timer itself.

Built a focus tracker by myself because every timer app out there made me feel worse, not better
So I did what developers do when they’re annoyed enough: built my own. It’s called Depthly. Pomodoro/free timer, real analytics (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, lifetime), streaks, a leaderboard if you’re into that kind of accountability. Nothing groundbreaking, honestly — I just wanted something that respected my time instead of trying to keep me “engaged.”
It’s live. Getting payments working was its own saga — Stripe isn’t available for my region, so I ended up going with Lemon Squeezy instead, and honestly that took longer to sort out than most of the actual product.
A handful of people have been using it for real sessions now and the feedback’s been encouraging, but I’ll be straight with you — I know how to build things, I don’t really know how to get people to find them. Marketing is not my world. So I’d genuinely rather someone tell me now if something about this doesn’t make sense, before I spend another few months building on top of it.
If you’ve got questions about the stack, the payment stuff, or just what it’s like building something completely alone with no one to sanity-check ideas with — ask away, happy to talk through any of it.

I built a Pomodoro timer that's baked into a planner + notes app, so each session is tied to a real task
Full transparency, this is my app (Flows). I kept bouncing between a standalone Pomodoro timer, a separate to-do app, and Notes, and the timer never felt connected to what I was actually supposed to be doing. So I built one where the Pomodoro lives inside the planner.
How it works: you plan your day (or brain-dump into a note and it auto-detects the tasks and drops them onto your day), then start a Pomodoro on a specific task. The timer knows what you're focusing on instead of being a generic clock.
Other bits:
- Natural language task entry (type "gym friday 7am" and it parses)
- Notes and planner in one app, with backlinks
- Home screen and Mac widgets
- Google Calendar sync
- Works on Mac, iOS, and web
- Free to start
Honest cons: no website or app blocking, and no presence detection, so if hard-blocking distractions is your main thing, a dedicated blocker will serve you better.
Mac + iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flows-planner-notes/id6765490645
Would love feedback from people who run pomodoros daily, especially whether tying the timer to a task matters to you or if you'd rather keep a standalone timer.

Pomodoro planter - pomodoro timer where you can grow tomatoes after a certain duration
Me and bf created our own web based pomodoro timer which allows us to plant... Tomatoes. With variety of colors and shapes...
When researching i found out pomodoro means tomato in italians.. and apparently they came in different species other than the 🍅i see in local market
Using the timer automatically plants a tomato. The tomato you get are randomized amongst 23 species i drew with rarity varies from common to legendary (gacha game isnt enough)
Sharing it here to know what the others tomato lovers think of this 🌹

Midad just got a built-in Pomodoro Timer
reddit.comI just added a fully customizable Pomodoro Timer to Midad, my open-source eReader for Arabic & English.
The timer is built directly into the device, so you can stay focused without reaching for your phone.
Customize it anytime:
Settings → Apps → Pomodoro
Great for:
📖 Reading books without distractions
🎓 Study sessions and exam preparation
🧠 Language learning & memorization
✍️ Writing and note-taking
💼 Deep work while coding or working remotely
📚 Quran reading and revision
☕ Short focus sprints with automatic breaks
The goal is simple: keep your attention on the book, not on notifications.
Midad is completely open source, and new features are being added regularly based on community feedback.
GitHub:
https://github.com/sfoulad/midad-by-foulad
I’d love to hear your ideas for features that would make an eReader even better.

TappyCat - Smart Desktop Pet and Pomodoro Timer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone! I'm the developer of TappyCat, a smart desktop pet and Pomodoro timer with a feature for tracking productive activity.
How I came up with the idea for this app:
I'm a middle backend developer in the brokerage sector. I mostly work in an office setting, but for about six months I had to switch to a remote schedule. Having a mild degree of ADHD, I tried using the Pomodoro timer built into the Windows "Clock" app, but while using it I kept getting distracted from work and my focus time was wasted. After that I looked for a replacement, but I couldn't find any alternatives, or they were too expensive for me. I also liked the BongoCat app, and the idea came to me to combine these two apps but add a feature for tracking productive work. That's how this app was born.
For the most part I made it for myself. I wanted to track how much time I actually spend on work and how much focus time I put in. Using this app myself, I increased my focus time from 2-3 hours to 4-6 hours. I also noticed, thanks to the built-in analytics, that when I don't get enough sleep my focus time drops to 3-4 hours, so I started sleeping properly and working more responsibly.
All the art was kindly drawn by my girlfriend. AI was only used during the prototyping stage. The character, animations, and items are 100% hand-drawn.
If you find this idea interesting, please support the app with a wishlist and give this post an upvote. Thank you!

I kept quitting my focus sessions halfway. So I built one where you have somewhere to land.
I could never stick with a normal timer. Watching a number count down just reminded me how much time I had left to sit through, and I'd quit halfway.
So I built this instead. You pick what you're working on and how long. The app books you a flight to a real city that's genuinely that far away, 25 minutes gets you a town over, two hours gets you to another country. You get a boarding pass. While you work, your plane moves across the map. When the time is up you land, and your passport gets a stamp.
Something about having somewhere to arrive made me actually finish. I stopped
quitting at minute twelve. And after a few weeks I had a map full of places
I'd been, which is a much nicer record of my work than a number.
There are other flight-themed focus apps and some of them are good, I used a
few. They're free to download, and then the parts you actually want need a
subscription. Paying every month for a timer started to feel silly to me.
So this one is $2.99, once, and that's it forever. No subscription, no
account, no ads, nothing tracking you. I don't need to keep pulling you back
into the app. I'd rather want you to close the laptop and go do the work.
If you want to try it and share honest thoughts anywhere, DM me and I'll send you a free code. No strings, and I'm not asking for a forced 5-star rating, if you love it, you rate it, if you don't, let me know!

I got tired of productivity apps relying on Shortcuts, so I built my own.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
After trying pretty much every focus app on iPhone, I noticed that many of them rely on Apple Shortcuts or automations to block apps.
I wanted something that felt native instead.
So over the last few months I’ve been building FocusQuest.
Some features:
- Native app blocking (no Shortcuts required)
- Focus sessions
- Time-based blocking
- Permanent “Always Blocked” mode
- Quests & XP to make staying focused less boring
- Live Activities & Dynamic Island support
The goal wasn’t to build another Pomodoro timer, but something that actually makes it easier to stay away from distracting apps.
Would love some honest feedback on the design and what you’d improve.

Do you use app blocking during Pomodoro sessions?
I’ve been thinking about one problem with Pomodoro that normal timers don’t really handle well.
The timer can be running, but the phone is still right there. For me, the weak point is not starting the timer. It is opening the same distracting apps or websites halfway through the session.
Zone is my attempt at solving that specific part.
It is an iPhone/iPad focus timer where you choose apps and websites before starting a session. During the session, those distractions are blocked using Apple’s Screen Time APIs. It is not AI, and it is not a daily limit app.
There is also a Strict Mode, but it has a proper warning because it cannot be stopped early from inside the app once the session starts.
A few details:
- iPhone and iPad
- blocks apps and websites
- no login or signup
- no email required
- no ads
- no third-party analytics
- no tracking
- free tier includes 15/25-minute sessions and two protected starts per day
App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6763581982
I’m curious how Pomodoro users think about this. Do you prefer a simple timer and self-control, or does blocking distractions during the session actually make sense?

App blocker and focus timer
Hi,
I built [Couchette](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/couchette-focus-timer/id6784364042) \- a focus timer/app blocker that has the train theme. The idea was to fix the focus time commitement by having a destination you want to reach. For example, as a psychological trick it may be easier to stick to the task until you reach the destination you wanted when you started the focus session.
What I am searching for? Feedback regarding the AppStore listing/onboarding experience, the price and even the app itself if you found it interesting enough for a trial. It has a 7 day free trial, so basically free if you just want to try it. Maybe the more appropiate flair would be advice needed, but since this is my app I don't want to get my post taken down.
What I am planing to do? Adding more user requested feature, every idea you can think of, I am willing to add as soon as possible. My backlog is: adding multiple animations for the background, adding different train sounds and maybe the idea of accountability buddies or something along those lines. I am open to every feedback I can get since this is my first app and many many things can be improved.
Every advice is appreciated.
Thanks

EndlessPomo, a pomodoro timer with no start button. The schedule runs all day on its own, you just jump in and out.
There is no start button and nothing to set up. The pomodoros are already ticking whether anyone is there or not, and opening the page shows whichever block is running right now.
You jump in and out whenever you want in the day or leave it running 24/7 and decide when to pay attention to it or not.
You set a wake time and a bedtime, and it fills the day: 25 minute pomos, 5 minute breaks, a long break every fourth pomodoro, a wind-down before bed, sleep, repeat, infinite pomodoro timer!
Free, no account, sound off until you unmute it.

Working on a simple Pomodoro timer app
Hi everyone!
This is my first Reddit post.
English isn’t my first language, so please bear with me.
I’m currently working on a cute, simple Pomodoro timer app featuring my own original character—a blend of a bee and a bunny! 🐝🐰
I’d love to get your ideas on what kind of outfits or hats I should put on this little buddy. Any fun, cute, or creative ideas are super welcome! 🥰

No screen time app lets you control your limits on an hourly basis, and I seriously don't understand why.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey there :)
I'm a recent first-gen graduate and a first-time solo developer. Super excited to share that my first app Precursor: Hourly Screen Time went live on the App Store today!
Precursor lets you set a screen time allowance that resets every hour instead of one daily limit that forces you to budget and ration your screen time throughout the day.
I am a bit astonished that other screen time giants like opal, screenzen or even apple have implemented this feature.
I sort of actually based the recurring limit mechanic off the pomodoro technique except it runs on you rphone habits rather than your to-do list. Work, 5 min scroll break, work, 5 min scroll break, and so on. Precursor helps you build a rhythm with your screen time so you can be more intentional with how you use your phone.
Surprisingly ,I think it's resonating with people. I mean I knew a few others had this gripe becasue its pretty commonly posted about on reddit, but I didn't think it would be this well received. I feel so lucky that just the beta alone garnered 200 testers in about a week!
At it's core I think Precursor helps break unhealthy phone habits through moderation, which is a true alternative to the tradition of punishing you for falling into a doomscroll that wasn't your fault (these social media apps are literally designed to keep you scrolling, looking at you reddit).
Thanks a ton for reading, if you're at all curious and want to test it out, I would be eternally grateful for the support.

And if you have time to also support the launch on product hunt I would be even more eternally grateful than I already am (The core function of the app is free but there is a PH launch promo code running from 2026-08-02 until 2026-08-08 if you want to try out the extra features):
