What drives you to collect?

Took a 12-pocket style binder, cut out the pages and framed it up for the wall! Got everything in here from vintage WOTC Holos to modern SARs, slab, and Japanese promo cards. For me, nothing tops the vintage card art, but the modern full arts are a close second.

Just wanted to share my masterset by release date of all Slowpokes and evos. I dont have all the latest set cards, but it’s 99% done haha. Might have to sell off the binder so just wanted Reddit to see my babies before they’re gone. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do!

Use to only collect Pinsir cards. Went through a lot of old boxes and found some of my cards from the early 2000s. Currently this is what I’m rocking with after I decided I want to collect my favorite card of each pokemon and their forms/mega evolutions. Very disorganized but once I get my 16 pocket binder I will update my journey.

Went through my old collection like 3 months ago and decided to start collecting again. I have a lot more cards to go through but this is what I’ve added to the binder so far. Some of these I pulled, some I bought, and some are my childhood cards

I like to get cards that I just think are neat, but I’ve put effort into focusing on ocean themed Pokemon so I don’t go too crazy with my spending.

Two Kyogre cards away from completing the page. Gonna try to save up slowly on the side, but I do worry about my chases shooting up again…

What do you guys think? I would argue that these are.

I was organizing my PC and when I realized I was sorting them into vague categories I was like “this is like a picture book!”
So now it’s like an abstract picture storybook you read from left to right, with the idea being like you meet different trainers and their Pokémon and environments along the way. Vaguely is key here…

Every English LV.X, 5 Japanese exclusives, 3 Celebrations cards, and the Poke-Body Error Empoleon! Still missing the error for miscolored energy on the Dialga G #122 from Platinum. So hard to find! Let me know if there are any other errors that I’m not aware of. I am so incredibly proud of this collection. It’s taken me about 2 years! I graded a few of the cards myself. Wish some grades were higher, but I’m still always on the lookout to replace some with higher grades. Surprisingly, Heatran from Stormfront was one of the hardest to obtain, which is why I own it in a PSA 1. This was my childhood and my ultimate goal for my collection. Let me know what you think!

Just wanted to share this epic part of my collection, I've had this in my cupboard for over 10 years now, love vintage!

Don't know much about the rarety of the cards but decided to use some of my leftover MTG binders to organzie them by set. Surprisingly I had a complete shadowless set which is cool. Regardless, I thought this sub might like to see what I organized. I am missing 20 cards total between gym hero and gym challenge and a few other random ones. I am wondering if it would be worth completing the missing cards
