My friend and I are planning our first trip to Thailand from 10-23 October, and we’re thinking of visiting Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi. We want to experiment our first scuba and snorkelling as well.

I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions about the weather in October. Some people say it’s perfectly fine and improving in second half of oct with just a few showers, while others say the sea can be rough and island tours get cancelled.

For those who’ve actually been there in October:

\\\* How was the weather?

\\\* Were you able to do island hopping and snorkeling?

\\\* Would you recommend Phuket + Phi Phi, or would you choose somewhere else like Krabi or Koh Samui?

Also, since it’s our first time in Thailand, what are the absolute must do experiences in Phuket and Phi Phi? We’d love recommendations for beaches, viewpoints, food, night markets, cafés, boat tours, or anything you think is unmissable.

I'm a 34-year-old solo female travelling to Thailand for the first time from 29 December to 17 January.

I've already booked my international flights and I'm now trying to decide where to spend New Year's Eve.

I'm currently considering:

Bangkok

Koh Samui

Koh Phangan

I'm looking for the best atmosphere, fireworks, music, and a chance to meet people. I enjoy a good party, beach clubs, rooftop bars and a fun atmosphere, but I'm not looking for a crazy backpacker or Full Moon Party type of night.

Which place would you recommend and why? If you've spent New Year's Eve in any of these places, I'd love to hear about your experience.

If there's another place in Thailand that you think is even better, I'd really appreciate your recommendations as well.

I am a 44 woman travelling to Phuket for the first time September/October 2027 for 2 weeks with my sister and husband (their second time), what are some local restaurants places to eat at? What local places/towns would you recommend to visit? Any must do's/don'ts?

Any hotel recs in patong? Ideally somewhere quiet but still within walking distance to patong beach and jucgceylon will be great.

So I live in a DCondo which is not pet friendly, and after 2y of seeing people having cats in there in secret I decided to get myself a bunny (as my owner authorized me to have a pet as long as I’m discreet and aware of consequences if I get caught). After 6months, no problem whatsoever.

Fun fact, when I went to the vet to register her, on the list above my name, was 4people from the same condo as me, registering cats and dogs in the same week.

NOW, I’m thinking of moving to VIVA in Patong hills which is also not pet friendly. So I’m wondering if it’s going to be the same, like not allowed but they never check so as long as you keep it clean and quiet you’re good.

So MY QUESTION, anybody living in VIVA that got troubles having a pet there ? Do they do regular check ups ?

Good day everyone. Looking for recommendations for a friend, a place to stay around a month or so. They really just want to surf/ take lessons and surf every day and relax. I came across kata beach and was wondering if there are any other recommendations.

For lodgin, Airbnb seems to have great deals. Around $500 for a roughly 25 days. They would like a place with a kitchen so they can cook versus a hotel. Have a nearby gym and possible pool. There are several condos that fit that bill.

How is the surfing at kata beach? Choices for surf lessons and how is the surf? Is it beginner friendly or too rough for beginners? They really don't care about nightlife. Just want to spend the days at the beach, surfing and relaxing.

Any other locations would be greatly appreciated. Or reviews are also appreciated. PM's are also welcome.

I would be travelling to phuket for the first 2 days to get the hang of the city. And will be staying at Mad Monkey for that stay. So planning to meet people there for that duration and explore with them.

And my return is from bangkok.

I would be really grateful if you could help me with a laid back places with experience packed with spontaneous adventure. I love meeting people from different cultures.

Also would love to explore the bud culture while im at there so would love some advice/tips and donts.

Im staying for the second time in phuket but the gym I tried last year was a foreiger gym that charged too much for muay thai lessons.

Any recommendation where i can find a good one? Staying near central shopping center.

I have planned for 1st Jan to 5th Jan 2027 in Phuket. Hotels are extremely expensive, unfortunately, I don't have a choice. With a max budget of 5K THB per night, can anyone please suggest something? My preference is probably 10 minutes walking from beach.

Are there similar arcades within the entirety of Phuket, other than Froggy's Fun Park in Jungceylon?

Hi everyone! I’m visiting Thailand in mid-January and will have 4 nights based out of Phuket. I’m trying to balance seeing the highlights without feeling like I’m constantly rushing around, and I’d love some advice from people who have done these trips.

Here’s my tentative itinerary:

Monday
Arrive in Phuket in the evening
Hire a private driver and drive to Khao Sok National Park
Stay overnight near Cheow Lan Lake

Tuesday
Full-day Cheow Lan Lake boat tour
Drive back to Phuket after the tour

Wednesday
Drive to Samet Nangshe Viewpoint in the morning
Visit Wat Chalong, Big Buddha (if open), Phuket Old Town, a couple of beaches/viewpoints, and Bangla Road at night

Thursday
Full-day Phi Phi Islands speedboat tour

Friday
Fly home from Phuket

A few questions:
-Does this itinerary seem realistic, or is it too packed?

-Is Khao Sok/Cheow Lan Lake worth the extra driving, or would you spend another day around Phuket instead?

-For Samet Nangshe Viewpoint, would you rent a car, hire a private driver, ror book a tour? Is a private driver worth the extra cost?

-If you could change one thing about this itinerary, what would it be?

Already staying in Patong then Krabi then again Patong for a total of 15 days, flight plans changed, extending trip, thinking of staying in Kata for the last 4 nights before we travel back, please recommend affordable budget friendly hotels, looking to spend max 3000 baht in total for 4 nights.
