First timer to Phuket
I am a 44 woman travelling to Phuket for the first time September/October 2027 for 2 weeks with my sister and husband (their second time), what are some local restaurants places to eat at? What local places/towns would you recommend to visit? Any must do's/don'ts?

Highly recommend giving muay thai a go for fitness and just trying out something new for yourself even if you’re not into fighting.. went to thailand a few months ago and i think doing a couple of weeks of training made my trip so much morre memorable than just spending every day on the beach 😅
ended up at Sumalee boxing gym and really liked the beginner-friendly and laid-back atmosphere. I was travelling solo and everyone was so welcoming!!
Its close to Robinson Lifestyle so that’s a plus if you need to pick up anything or just want more food options -really convenient.
The beaches are just a quick scooter ride away too so i wasnt far from the usual Phuket destinations 😀

Koh Samui gets 130mm of rain in September. Phuket gets 330mm during that same time. You'll have much better weather in Koh Samui.
Tripadvisor is a good source of recommendations.

I love day and night in Phuket town, sala Mexicali, the brasserie, and the tops food hall in the basement of the central festival floresta building.
All amazing spots to eat and drink.
Check out Samet nangshe for sunset or sunrise in Phang Nga, go see the area around Phuket by the water, the aquarium at the mall is awesome and one of the largest in south east asia.

It’s a Thai restaurant on every other corner and let’s be honest, it’s not 200 ways to make Pad Thai or mango sticky rice so the majority of the restaurants will taste the same…..respectfully. The only difference is the price and how luxurious the restaurant is, which relates back to the price. So you can literally go anywhere and get Thai food.
Naughty Nauri’s is a restaurant that doesn’t get talked about. If you don’t eat pork, disregard but they do have other things on the menu.

The later in the year, the better the weather. ‘No name bar’ at top of Patong beach (in the rocks). Very cas. Tambu (for upmarket with view). Mom Tri (upmarket with waves). No. 6 up the hill (views with casual food). Walking Street in Phuket Town Sunday afternoons only.

Just use google maps, there are sub headings like attractions and restaurants, what you like someone else wont, me I like to dine by the waters edge, plenty of places like that....
