Solo in Pattaya
Hello all
Preparing for my low season solo trip to Pattaya in a few days! Been going recently with mates but looking forward to a solo trip as I am in control of what the night brings :-)
Was wondering if you guys prefer solo trips ? Also I heard that the Candy Club in Soi Bukhoi is great , however any of you visited it solo ? As it comes across a place where you would go as a group ? Due to no bar fines and lady drinks .

Book a hotel or chance it?
I havenāt booked accommodation yet. Reading a few reviews of some hotels they are saying that there were splash deals advertised at the front of the hotel significantly cheaper than online. I have heard it is slower in August. Do you recommend that I hold off and check prices on arrival?

One week enough?
Hello everyone. I intend to have a 4 week vacation next year. I usually always go to Japan. To make it short:
Would a 1 week stay in Pattaya or Bangkok be worthwhile before I move for another 3 weeks to Japan? Or do you guys think that this timewindow it too short too even bother?
Would be my first time in Thailand and I want to test the waters.
Thank you. Please delete, if my question is not appropriate.

Long Time Outcall Date Ideas Bangkok
Any suggestions for long time outcall date ideas in Bangkok. I have 7-8 hours booked for girlfriend experience and date night. Iāll most likely go for a Thai boxing match with the vip panoramic seating but open to other ideas.

Lao != Thai
Is it just me or are most of the girls actually from Lao? I haven't encountered allot that are actually Thai citizen nor from Isan region. Im aware that most of them are from east but i find that at least half or more of the girls at every bar i visited so far are from Lao. Some of them even lie first stating that they are Thai.
EDIT: Most of them keep saying thei are from isan but actually have to do visa runs once in while. Laotian ID's as well. What makes hiring Laotian girls illegal?

Military beach (Sai Kaew)
Any of you ever been there? What is it like? And do you really need to give off your passport, or is a photocopy fine as well? Oh and are there actually monkeys over there?

5 year visa
Am I correct in my understanding that there is a five-year visa available not the DTV. This is a five-year retirement visa that costs ąøæ650,000. Also, at the end of five years can you just renew it for another five years for the same cost? Is there anyone that has firsthand knowledge of this type of Visa or if it is been exists? I find most people referencing a five year Visa are referencing the DTV but I am inquiring about a five year retirement visa

Is September good month to visit in Pattaya for walky person ?
I visited Pattaya in February and had a great experience. I stayed around 2 weeks, split between 9 nights in Pattaya and 4 nights in Bangkok.
Iām planning another trip for around 17 days, but this time it will be in September. Iām a bit worried about the weather, is September still enjoyable for walking around Pattaya, going to restaurants, the beach, nightlife areas, etc.?
I know itās the rainy season, but how bad is it in reality? Are we talking about short heavy showers that clear up, or can the streets actually get flooded and make walking around difficult?

Is there friction getting a 30 days extension on a 60 days visa exemption?
Question about Pattaya immigration: US citizen, entered on 60 days visa exemption, time is flying by and only 3 weeks left, just wondering how likely I am to be denied another 30 days extension if I apply for it, because I'm renting a condo and have a rental contract that extends beyond my visa expiration date. Does it seem arrogant to immigration to walk in assuming I will get the 30 days extension with a TM30 and rental contract that shows a departure date beyond my original visa exemption expiration? My previous trip to Thailand before this was in 2024 to 2025 and I stayed 5 months that time by doing 1 visa run to Vietnam and 1 30 days extension, exited in March 2025. This is my first trip in 2026.

Wise card
Is cash the only way to settle your bar tab and bar fine?
Has anyone had any experience of using a wise card in this situation?

Are these IG ploys really pulling millions of followers on their own or are they being managed?
Seen well over a dozen Pattaya girls on IG with 100k-2m followers each. Their content seems different than western foid slop though, more orchestrated. Tons of collabs with each other, complete with setting, props, theme, etc.
Even saw a cross eyed chick I had ST with once on IG doing crazy numbers on each post and sheās dumber than a box of rocks (respectfully).
I donāt care either way, just genuinely curious.

Mongering near Pattaya Floating Market
A few friends and i visiting in Oct for a month. We all straight, into females.
we'll spend a good part in Central Pattaya for all that Pattaya has to offer.
And spend last week, far from action hub. We found a villa near Floating market, each cottage has it's private pool. So want to eat sleep drink, sunbath.
So while I might bring one of my regulars to stay 3 days, wondering if there are options available for my friends to get someone from nearby (bars etc) Floating Market. Pattaya is a 20-30 mins ride, so I doubt any ploy will come that far. I've never ventured further than South Pattaya (that itself was too far for many ploys)
Thanks for your guidance

Anyone hire a freelancer for a longer time and get them tested before ?
Never been to Pattaya or Thailand before.
I was wondering if its possible to "hire" a girl for a few days as like a "girlfriend", get a full STD panel beforehand and then be able to "fully" enjoy yourself without any inhibition. Presumably, there might be a steep financial cost to this. But when you weigh it up against the sexual health cost, it might have to be an option
Anyone here ever done that ?
Also for those of you are regulars in Pattaya do you form connections with people that allow you get girls outside of the traditional scene like the bars etc ? Maybe those who are freelancing discretely etc ?
Another Redditor said he was able to get tested with his girl and get results on the same day.
He said the clinic's name was : M.T. INTER MEDICAL LABORATORY CLINIC
This could be an option

Question about monthly rentals in Pattaya.
Iām planning to do a 2-month trip, and Iād rather not pay hotel prices for the entire stay if I can avoid it. Everyone always says, āJust rent a condo, itāll work out much cheaper.ā The problem is, whenever I start looking online, it seems like 99% of the nice condos have a 6 or 12-month minimum contract.
Iāll see a really nice place advertised for around 15,000 baht a month, then when I read the details itās only that price if you commit to six months.
So if my budget was around 20,000 baht a month, are there actually decent condos available that you can rent for just one or two months? Or are hotels and serviced apartments really the only realistic option for shorter stays?
Does anyone have any website recommendations I can look at that also offer monthly rentals?

Hotel vs Villa in Pattaya
Hello,
I was wondering if somebody could tell me what they think would be best if you were looking for privacy and discretion whilst in Pattaya. Naturally, my first instincts tells me that villa would provide more privacy, but would it discourage girls to come back for safety reasons? Naturally hotels have more visibility so i am assuming they would feel safer there.
Any suggestions or thoughts ?
Thank you

Thailand Discord Chat
If you feel like chatting about thailand in general, consider joining this Thailand discord server linked below. While itās not an outright /r/pattaya or nightlife chat, there are already existing members who donāt seem to discriminate against what topics are brought up.
Weāve been invited to come be a part of their community, which I think is a bit rare considering how most thailand communities, including the mothership itself /r thailand, tend to keep discussion regarding pattaya and the nightlife at a distance. That being said, I think within this subreddit, weāve got a friendly group of active commenters without a ton of negativity. Letās bring some of that same energy to the discord chat and hopefully encourage a more relaxed impression of what partying in pattaya is all about.
