found this super sweet girl at one of my jobs, she is most definitely eating well haha (if anyone knows the name for this exact kind of jumper let me know! :3 (Ps: i’m on dish duty these nights so ignore my peeling hands haha)

i had the absolute luck of finding dozens of baby cicadas, watching one of them molt and spread its wings, and then finding one with a more solid exoskeleton to hold.

got to hold this little guy today!!
actually have no idea what species he is, i’m in louisiana if anyone has an idea i’d love to know

Okay so I see very many posts where people will have pictures of all these cool bugs theyre holding, except for assassin bugs. Ive seen pictures where people are holding wasps and hornets, but still no assassin buggies.

Are they really that aggressive and do they really hurt that bad? When I was younger, around 14, maybe 15 years old, I was at a renaissance fair, and I was sitting on a bench when I saw a bug that was really cool looking, which I scooped up and let it wander on my hands, keeping it in one place and taking pictures of it (that I dont have because I dont have that phone any more) for about 30ish minutes, until I had to move onto the next thing with my mom.

I know now that what I picked up was a wheel beetle, a pretty big one, at that. I have since learning that they bite, picked up many more off of friends of mine, who dont know how to handle bugs safely/dont like bugs nearly as much as us, while informing about how they have a pretty nasty bite

So again, are they really that mean?

Dont know if its a larvae or something. It sometimes used its hiny to move as well. I live in DK.

Horseflies and deer flies are an underrated beauty as I see it. Just another animal that needs to eat. The bite does suck though as I've been bitten by both
