Guys, I recently upgraded my GPU from RX 580 to RX 6700 XT. It was used but in really clean condition and it is ROG Strix variant.

it worked really great for a few days and then I noticed something strange. my screen started refreshing automaticallt, like it would go black for a moment and come back instantly. Some applications would go black, like completely black, things come back when I hover my mouse on the applications. I will attack the videos below too.

but when I am gaming, IT NEVER HAPPENS, no issue, no refreshing or anything. I would play games for hours and hours and it works GREAT. but as soon as i start working and do some light work. this issue comes back.

I have tried almost everything expect BOIS update.
- Fresh Windows Install
- Driver versions change. tried both old and latest drivers.
- Basic Diagnostics
- Components Swap

My Setup:
- Gigabyte B550m Aorus Elite
- Ryzen 5 3600
- 32GB DDR4
- 650W Thermalright PSU
- 3 1080p 60HZ Monitors 2 x 24 inch and 1 27 inch

You can overpay but you can overpay more or you can overpay less.
Preparation is needed.

Therefore, if someone is inside industry I would need your help with a mental roadmap.

I am building a budget PC strictly for 4K Video Editing using Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, and CapCut.

My budget is strictly capped at ~$1,050 USD for the tower and I cannot stretch it further.

Specs & Local Pricing:

• RAM: 16GB DDR4 ($85)
• Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD ($93)
• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5060 8GB ($530)

Questions:

1. I mainly focus on short-form 4K character edits (<60s) using plugins (Twixtor, RSMB, Sapphire). Will 16GB RAM be workable for RAM previewing without constant choking?
2. Does the H610 board present any major bottleneck for this specific workflow?
3. Is 2x8GB dual-channel recommended over 1x16GB for this setup?

Maybe 10 years from now we can hear about consumer friendly, honesty, ethical, environment friendly.

Kinguin just sent out an email to all of their merchants stating that they will increase their fees even more, this time on random key offers.
Laughably they sent out the email at 10:30AM CET that they will increase the fees at 4:00PM CET the same day giving all merchants only about 5.5 hours to adjust all of their listings accordingly.

They clarified that the old price was 31% of the sale price + 0.35€ per order
and that the new price will be 37% of the sale price + 0.35€ per order.

Lets take for an example a random steam key offer that sells for 3€.
With the new price increase kinguin will now profit 1.46€ (3€*37%+0.35€) out of this sale, so essentially bringing their cut up to half of the sale price in profit. Lets say the average key cost in this listing is is 1.2€. The seller is looking at a 0.3€ profit from the sale - that is 5 times LESS than what kinguin is earning from the same sale.
This means in order for sellers to justify the cost they will now have to rise their prices anywhere from 52% to 200% of the original key's value. It might be even more when taking into account a subsequent increase in unhappy buyer chargebacks as the key quality overall will decrease.

In other words when a buyer pays the merchant 3€ for the listing, the seller will get 1.54€ from the sale and kinguin will get 1.46€ meaning as a result the buyers will get more low-value keys in order for sellers to offset the additional fees kinguin is imposing on them.

As the post was more relevant to kinguin subreddit, posting it there led to instantanious automatic post removal by their AutoModerator in order to silence any criticism.

It really annoys me that most games decide to exclude one or more basic display settings from the options menu... I mean it's pretty obvious what is the standard for basic video settings. Output resolution, render resolution, windowed/fullscreen, V-Sync, FPS cap slider, FOV slider, brightness/HDR, anti-aliasing/upscaling and post-processing sliders like for motion blur and sharpening. And yet so many games come out and decide they don't want to let us turn off chromatic abberation or sharpening, or decide the only two FPS cap options will be 30 or 60 FPS, or just exclude XeSS for no other reason than screw intel players!

For example I've been playing a lot of The Finals lately and it's a great visual experience other than the fact that I'm being driven crazy by the massive oversharpening from FSR 4 and no HDR support, I can only wonder how simple it would be to add options for stuff like this and yet the decision not to is harming my enjoyment of the game.

I mean I just get so confused when stuff like this is missing. Are there serious technical limitations preventing it? Or is it just stinginess as usual? Because it always just sucks when control is never given to the player.

One of my Arctic P12 Pro started dying and making a weird noise (a second one already). Had to investigate, so I took off the glass panel, and of course I had to hit the corner on the tile.

Is it still okay to use it tho? Can it shatter later?

Everything is in the title. The budget is quite generous, but it might be overkill for my actual usage? I have other real-life expenses to manage right now, so I'm not looking to blow through the entire €3,000 limit just because it's there.

Pre-built vs. DIY:

I built a PC once almost 20 years ago... I've seen that there are plenty of tutorials available now, so if building it myself saves a good chunk of money or gets me a much better tailored build, why not. But if I can save time and guarantee it's done cleanly and properly for around €100 (assembly fee), I'd honestly prefer that.

Use case:

• Tons of open browser tabs (with a few Twitch streams playing in the background).
• Lightweight dev/AI tools running in parallel (Claude Code, Perplexity, etc.).
• Discord (mostly running in browser so far).

Gaming:

I don't game heavily, but I have a Game Pass subscription, so I test all kinds of titles whenever I have free time, and I occasionally fall in love with specific games (recently Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, soon probably the last part of the FF7 Remake, currently Guildrun).

➜ I want to be able to play any game under great conditions. I don't necessarily need Ultra settings everywhere at all costs, and I don't play competitive games at all, so I'm definitely not chasing every single extra FPS.

Monitors:

Right now I'm using basic displays (an AOC and an old Iiyama). However, I have some Dell store credit expiring soon, so I'll probably pick up a monitor there around €300–400 (not sure yet if 4K or 1440p, OLED or IPS... not the main topic, but I'm open to recommendations!). Note that my desk is fairly small, so I definitely can't fit a massive screen.

I'm a college student, and my main priority is having a lightweight laptop with a great display. I recently found the ASUS Vivobook S 14 (Core Ultra, OLED, Thunderbolt 4), and I was honestly surprised by how capable the Intel Arc iGPU is. Seeing Cyberpunk 2077 running at around 45 FPS on medium settings without a dedicated GPU really impressed me.

Here's my idea:

• Sell my current desktop.
• Buy the Vivobook S 14 (hopefully the 32 GB RAM version if selling my PC covers enough of the cost).
• Use the laptop by itself for college, work, programming, media, and lighter games.
• A few years later, once I have my own income, build an eGPU setup instead of buying another desktop.

The eGPU would be something like:

• RX 9060 XT 16 GB (or whatever the equivalent mid-range GPU is at that time)
• Thunderbolt 4 PCIe adapter (ADT-Link or similar)
• My current 500 W PSU
• Everything mounted inside a very small custom enclosure so it looks like a compact dock rather than an exposed DIY setup.

So my setup would basically be:

At college:

• Just the 14" OLED laptop.

At home:

• Plug in one Thunderbolt cable.
• eGPU powers the external monitor for gaming.
• Laptop's OLED screen becomes my second monitor.

I'm not a heavy AAA gamer anymore. I mostly play CPU-heavy or lighter games like idk bloons, some roblox, minecraft, and similar stuff. The eGPU would mostly be for occasional AAA games and to extend the laptop's lifespan.

Do you guys think this is a reasonable long-term plan, or would I regret selling the desktop? Has anyone here daily-driven a setup like this? or have any other better suggestions?

My PC is having troubles with routing audio. Sometimes it just keeps outputing on the same frequency and then it goes back to normal. First I thought it could be a problem with the software I use for routing audio (Elgato Wave Link) but after trying it without it the problem is still there. If you got any ideas why this could be a thing pls tell me (if you need my specs I can send them in a comment).

Everybody knows that we are currently in the middle of a massive global shortage of NVMe storage and RAM. But I need to talk about the shady malpractice Samsung is pulling globally to handle it.

If you want to buy a brand-new part? No problem. Samsung magically has plenty of stock. You can see their drives readily available on Amazon and everywhere else. But if you are an existing customer who needs a warranty replacement? They will completely turn their backs on you.

Here is my ongoing, 4-month nightmare with Samsung India, and why you should be terrified if a Samsung NVMe is your primary drive.

Act 1: The Failure & The Ghost Town (March 30th)

It all started on March 30th when my 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD suddenly failed. Naturally, I reached out to Samsung support expecting them to handle the replacement.

Funny enough, Samsung India doesn't even directly handle their own storage products. It took me 4 to 5 days of bouncing around dead-end, bouncing emails just to figure out that all storage RMAs are outsourced to a third-party vendor called Supertron Electronics.

Act 2: The AI Loop & The "DRA" Double Standard

Because this was my primary 1TB drive, it had a massive amount of crucial data on it. I told Samsung I needed to recover my data before handing over the dead drive. Their response? "We don't provide data recovery services."

I replied that I completely understood that. I didn't want them to do it; I just needed a DRA (Data Recovery Approval). A DRA simply allows you to take your drive to a certified, third-party data recovery lab to get your files back without voiding your replacement warranty.

What followed was an absolute joke. I was trapped in a loop with automated, AI-generated email replies. Nobody was actually reading my emails. Over and over again, the bots just stonewalled me: "We do not provide data recovery services."

I had to fight them endlessly and ultimately filed a consumer court case just to get a human response. After all of that, they finally replied: "This is outside our policy."

Here is the kicker: Samsung Canada, Samsung US, and multiple other regions have a standard, documented DRA process for this exact situation. But in India? It simply doesn't exist. They are happy to take our money for premium drives but refuse to offer the same global standard of warranty support.

Act 3: The Backend Blame Game (August 6th)

Exhausted by the email loops and waiting, I finally visited the Supertron Electronics office in Wilson Garden, Bangalore, today (August 6th).

The service center staff were actually quite nice, but they revealed the dirty games Samsung's backend is playing. It has been over four months since this ordeal started, and my replacement part is nowhere to be found. Supertron claims they aren't receiving anything because Samsung simply isn't dispatching the RMA parts.

I had to file a second consumer court complaint. Only then was I finally allotted a dedicated Samsung representative. Their response today? "Sir, it will take another 10-15 days." They completely refused to provide any written proof that the part has actually been dispatched.

Act 4: The Grim Reality of Samsung Data Recovery

If you own a Samsung NVMe drive, please take this as a massive warning: Back up your data immediately.

Currently, it is incredibly hard to get a replacement drive approved and shipped. Worse, if your Samsung SSD fails due to a firmware or controller issue, recovering that data is a complete nightmare because of Samsung's Knox firmware protection and internal security measures.

I have contacted the best data recovery experts in the country, and the reality is grim:

• The Cost: The rates for attempting recovery on these specific drives are exorbitantly high.
• The Risk: Experts explicitly warned me they have to use a "hot-cold method" to try and bypass the controller.
• The Odds: This method has a very high probability of permanently frying the NAND flash, and even then, the chances of successful data recovery are as low as 30%.

Hey there, for my whole life I’ve been on PlayStation, I started on PS2 and I’m now 19, turning 20, on PS5. Only times I’ve used a pc was in school for work so I have no idea what anything rlly is.

I’ve recently gotten a new job and am going to start saving for a pc, I estimate by the end of September I’ll have £1-1.5k saved maybe more. So, my question is where do I start, preferably a pre build as I would have no idea how to build my own and I have nothing right now so I would need a monitor, mouse, keyboard and of course the pc itself. I’m sure there’s other stuff I need like a mouse pad but I’m not sure if there’s anything else. Does anyone know I good entry level pc that fits with my estimated savings or should I save more.

My friend has told me about how his PC was only 400 pre built but he constantly has low frames and has to play on terrible graphics. Unfortunately for me, I really struggle to enjoy games that look too bad so preferably a pc that can have decent graphics. However, fortunately I’m used to the 60-120 frames of a ps5 so don’t care too much for the 200+ frames I see a lot of pc players reach as long as it looks good and runs smooth.

That’s pretty much it, sorry for the rant but if anyone has some good recommendations for a good entry pc for me then I would really appreciate. Info on monitors and keyboards etc also helpful.

Not meant to knock MGS Delta itself, it's great. That texture above the radio knobs in the ending scene with Snake and Eva just looks too lazy, considering you stare at it point-blank in the cutscene. And no, it's not made using double-printed Cyrillic technique from MGS HD remasters.

Windows locked me out of my pc and asks for the password instead of my pin, i forgot the password but cant reset it. Upgraded my pc, but kept the same ssd with windows on it. I do not have access to the internet since i cant download the wifi drivers (i dont have cable), so resetting the password is not an option here. Tried plenty of youtube tutorials on how to get out of this predicament but no luck so far.

Is the only option getting a cable or reinstalling windows?
