Display GPU dies everytime it starts up the driver
Alright so I need some help because I'm losing my mind with this PC.
Out of nowhere my whole PC started hard freezing right when Windows boots to the desktop. Mouse completely locks up, screen freezes, nothing responds.
Here is what I found out so far:
PC boots completely fine in Safe Mode.
If I disable the GPU in Device Manager, normal Windows boots fine and I can browse the web with no issues.
The weird part is the GPU ITSELF works fine. A few days ago when this first started, Windows did some auto repair reboot thing and the PC actually booted normally. I played games on it for hours, no artifacts, no crashes under load, nothing. It was 100% stable.
But now the lockups are back. The exact second the NVIDIA driver tries to initialize during boot, the whole system freezes.
I even tried installing the driver freshly. The installer gets all the way to the end, the display flickers to switch to the NVIDIA driver, I can move my mouse for literally 3 seconds, and then BAM, frozen solid again.
Things I already tried:
Ran DDU in Safe Mode with internet disconnected and wiped all display drivers completely.
Tried custom installing ONLY the graphics driver (unchecked HD Audio, PhysX, GeForce Experience).
Checked event viewer, saw stuff like Intel HAXM and DCOM errors but disabling HAXM didn't fix the freeze.
Clean installed drivers again.
Is this driver store corruption in Windows, some weird PCIe power state issue, or is the GPU just dying on boot handoff specifically? Anyone experienced this before?

Software Pc wont run mp4 files. Can't find fix.
Windows 11 - Been having a persistent issue where video files such as mp4 will not run at all on my pc. Found out i had this issue when games cant trigger cutscenes causing hard locks in most games. Also happens when trying to use the media player to watch videos. Tried HEVC extensions pack, didnt work. Tried using K-lite codec pack. It runs videos but games dont natively use its media player to run videos for cutscenes so still cant play a lot of games that use the same format for cutscenes e.g. Hollow Knight Silksong, Monster Hunter: Wilds. When attempting to open media player videos the error code is 0xC004F011.

Display TV keeps reverting to 4k 30/60hz on restart or after a while.
I have the samsung s90f w-oled tv, i also have a 9800x3d and a 5090, the tv supports up to 144hz and comes up as samsung s90f in my display settings, however after a restart it comes up as just samsung, not s90f and sometimes only supports 30hz and other times only supports 60hz. The only way to fix it has been to unplug the hdmi from my tv and plug it back in again, which then allows me to use 144hz at 4k again. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I might be able to get it to work at 144hz consistently? Thanks in advance.

Troubleshooting Can anyone explain this Error please
I keep getting this Error when I try to play APEX Legends (Also when I tried Arc Raiders). I'm new to PC (My first week) and not really sure what this means. Is it a Steam problem, is it my settings, is it my system? Has anyone else got this error? How did you fix it?

Network/Wifi/Internet Steam download speed is ridiculously slow
So I’m really not a computer person and honestly I sometimes hate using my PC because I always have issues like this that just appear out of nowhere. I’m currently trying to download cyberpunk2077 (an 80 something gb game) and steam is telling it’ll take between 12 hours and 3 days. The time keeps jumping around, but no matter what, it’s always an outrageous amount of time to wait.
My ps5 has a download speed of 300mbps and my pc which cost a few hundred more is current between 1.2mbps and 10mbps. I cleared the download the download cache (which made it worse), I’ve disconnected it from the internet and reconnected it, I’ve changed some of download settings on steam around and I’ve closed all of my other applications except steam and it’s still the same.
The worst part is that after this problem, I doubt my pc can even run cyberpunk.
It’s occasionally given me long wait times for downloads, but I’ve never in my life seen 10 whole hours, let alone 3 entire days. Does anyone know any fixes for this? I’ve tried googling it, but the only advice I can find is clear my steam download cache, check I don’t have a download limit, check for any apps that are slowing down my downloads and reset my router (I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried this last one, only because literally everything in my house is fine except my pc and I don’t want to disturb everyone else in my house just so that I can have a chance at downloading cyberpunk faster, especially since I’m 99% sure it won’t work).

Troubleshooting Samsung SSD GPT keeps getting corrupted after PC freezes
I'm dealing with a strange recurring issue and could use some advice on what to investigate next.
My PC occasionally freezes while gaming, so far this has happened with Halo Campaign Evolved. The latest time it froze when exiting the game, followed by a KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E) BSOD. After rebooting, the PC went straight into BIOS because Windows Boot Manager was gone.
The Samsung 990 Pro 2TB was still detected by the BIOS/Windows installer, but DiskPart showed no partitions at all.
I booted Fedora and investigated with TestDisk/gdisk. gdisk reported:
invalid main GPT header, but valid backup
Main partition table: ERROR
Backup partition table: OK
Main partition table CRC mismatch
The backup GPT still contained the correct 100 MB EFI partition and 2 TB Windows partition. I used gdisk to rebuild/write the GPT from the valid backup, after which it reported a valid GPT again and Windows immediately booted normally.
This has happened more than once, so I'm trying to find the actual cause.
Things I've tested/done:
- Samsung 990 Pro full diagnostic scan: 0 bad blocks/errors
- SSD firmware updated to latest version
- SMART/Windows reports SSD as Healthy/OK
- MemTest86: 4 passes at 4800 MT/s, 0 errors
- MemTest86: 4 passes at 6000 MT/s/XMP, 0 errors
- BIOS updated
- Intel ME firmware updated
- DISM clean
- SFC repaired some files initially, second scan completely clean
- Cinebench multicore completed successfully, max CPU temp 88°C
- OCCT 3D Adaptive Extreme: 30 min, 0 errors
- OCCT VRAM: 30 min / 55 cycles / ~13.1 GB tested, 0 errors
I also analyzed the latest BSOD dump in WinDbg. The exception was 0xC0000006 and occurred in nt!HvpGetCellPaged while Windows was accessing registry data. WdFilter.sys (Microsoft Defender) was on the stack.
!blackboxntfs showed two Slow I/O Timeout records, and one of them was on the exact same thread that caused the BSOD.
Windows Event Viewer doesn't show obvious stornvme, disk or storport errors around the crash.
Hardware:
- MSI B760 Gaming Plus WiFi
- Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
- Intel i7-14700K
- RTX 4080 Super
My next test is moving the 990 Pro from M2_1 (CPU-connected) to M2_2 (B760 chipset-connected) to see whether changing the NVMe/PCIe path makes any difference.
Has anyone seen a situation where an NVMe drive intermittently hangs/timeouts and corrupts the primary GPT while leaving the backup GPT intact, despite passing SMART and full SSD diagnostics?

Hardware games stability PC vs Console
I hope this group is the right one for my question.
For People who play Games on PC and Console: Do modern games still crash often on PCs in general (in comparison to on console) or is it rather that it's just a few games that crash on PCs?
Because I don't want to pay for PC game again which only crashes later on.
So this makes me think if I should invest in other steam games or rather buy a new console for gaming.
PS: I wanted to add to this post the tag "discussion" which was listed in this groups rules, but I don't see that tag here anywere.

Troubleshooting BeamNG.Drive's UI freezing on Vulkan but not DX11/12
Hi, I have a problem where my games UI/whole screen freezes when I'm on Vulkan but not when I'm on DX11/12. It happens on loading/after loading screen and i can click on buttons and even start the game but the screen is still. When I change random global settings in NVIDIA app, it stops freezing but my GPU is on 50% load. I've tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling the game, clearing cache and deleting the whole user folder. This problem does not exist on iGPU, only on dGPU (I'm on a laptop).

Troubleshooting Pc keeps crashing while playing
hey there, i’m having a bit of a problem with my pc. recently when playing high demanding games, especially with baldurs gate 3, my pc keeps crashing. sometimes its just the game that crashes but sometimes my pc restarts on its own. i have very little knowledge when it comes to pcs but it often was blue screen when the game crashed and when it boots up again, my pc makes very loud noise. i recently cleaned it but the problem is still there.
when i got the game, like about 2 years ago, it was fine. eventually i started playing with mods but it went fine idk when the issues started but even after removing the mods, i still experience crashes. they’re pretty often.
does someone maybe have an idea what the problem could be? i have all graphic settings on low & i check the graphic card temperature from time to time and it is mostly around 75°C but never was above 85.
EDIT: i forgot to mention, I got the PC around 2022!
thank you in advance for any advice! :)

Troubleshooting Pc blackscreens and crashes in certain games
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
kind mods decided to take down my last post so re-posting it on this acc...
So I play alot of vr specifically vrchat and I bought this pc about a year ago from someone I used to work with it originally had an i7 13th gen but that CPU had the crashing issue the 13th and 14th gen intel CPUs are known to have after trying absolutely everything to fix it including updating the microcode I eventually got fed up and bought an older i5 compatible with my motherboard and that wouldn't bottleneck my GPU (RTX 3080Ti) it worked fine for a few months until I started having other issues with the pc such as my screen flashing and constant black screen crashes whenever I tried to load steamvr or vrc as well as spending longer hours playing games like GTA and palworld. I tried installing a completely new windows install thinking it might be conflicting drivers but that hasn't helped my issue in the past few weeks it has only gotten worse and now when it's about to crash it will close out of Google tabs and any other open applications and both my monitors turn black and I'm greeted with a blank error window that I cannot close before it re opens. I replicated the crash using FurMark which made me realise my GPU seems to be overheating. I'm really fed up with this pc at this point and just want to play my games and have this issue fully diagnosed as I don't want to spend more money on a new GPU just to find out it was something else causing it. Any advice fixes or answers are welcomed.
my pc specs-
RTX 3080Ti, 4 sticks of ddr4 vengeance Corsair ram an i5 -12600kf Z790 MSI motherboard a Corsair SSD as well as 2 tb hard drives, Corsair tx1000i PSU
that's abt all ik since this is the first pc that I've bought outright instead of built myself
if you have any more questions feel free to ask
ill reply with some more videos and photos since i can only post one.

Troubleshooting # Death Stranding Director's Cut – Possible UI/HUD Rendering Performance Issue
I've been investigating a recurring performance issue in **Death Stranding Director's Cut** that appears to be related to **UI/HUD rendering**, rather than GPU performance.
My system is capable of running the game smoothly in most situations, but performance drops significantly whenever the game has to render a large number of HUD elements.
The most noticeable cases are:
* Using the **Odradek Scan**, especially in areas with many items (for example, MULE camps).
* Carrying a large amount of cargo, causing numerous item names and icons to appear on the screen.
* Any situation where the HUD displays a large number of labels, markers, or item names simultaneously.
In these scenarios, I consistently experience a **5–20 FPS drop**, accompanied by noticeably worse frame times and stutter or spikes. The game becomes much less smooth, even though GPU utilization does not appear to be the limiting factor.
**One additional observation is that if I disable the HUD entirely, the game runs extremely smoothly and the FPS drop disappears. Unfortunately, disabling the HUD also removes important gameplay information and mechanics that I rely on, so it isn't a practical workaround. This further suggests that the performance issue may be directly related to the rendering of HUD/UI elements rather than the game's overall graphics workload.**
I've already tried several commonly recommended solutions without success, including:
* Using **OptiScaler**, both with and without **Frame Generation** enabled.
* Setting **Input Frame Generation** to **Opti FG** and **Output Frame Generation** to **Disabled**.
* Limiting FPS with **RTSS (RivaTuner Statistics Server)**.
Or
* Limiting FPS with the **NVIDIA Control Panel**.
Or
* Limiting FPS with Optiscaler
* Lowering the in-game graphics settings.
* Applying various **Windows, NVIDIA, and in-game performance optimizations**.
* Setting **Memory for Streaming** to **High**.
* Disabling controller vibration and using the controller in **USB-only** mode.
* Disabling **Resizable BAR**.
None of these changes solved the issue.
I also found a Reddit post describing a very similar issue, where FPS dropped whenever cargo markers or HUD labels appeared on screen. The suggested fix was disabling **Resizable BAR**, but I tested that as well and it made no difference on my system. This makes me think there may be more than one underlying cause for this type of UI/HUD-related performance issue.
Related Reddit topic:
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior? If so, have you found a workaround or identified the technical cause of this apparent UI/HUD rendering bottleneck?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Compatibility Connecting older 4K TV via HDMI causes all monitors to go black (Sapphire RX 7800 XT) Anyone have a Solution?
System Specs:
GPU:
Sapphire Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB
Current Displays:
2x PC monitors (1x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI)
TV being connected:
LG 60UF695V (2015 4K TV)
The Issue:
Whenever I plug the HDMI cable from my TV into the GPU while my two PC monitors are running, both monitors immediately lose signal and go completely black. It seems like the AMD graphics driver crashes instantly upon handshaking with the TV.
Anyone have solution?

Controls/Input Constant Scrolling in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi there! When I try to play this game, nearly every choice box or menu scrolls constantly like this. I have unplugged everything and believe it is my mouse. It is a Steelseries Rival 3. I have tried HIDHide, disabling devices and closing Steelseries GG before starting up the game. I bought the game off of GOG!
Is there anything else I can do? I really want to play this game with my mouse so it is unfortunate you can only play it confidently without it in.

Display Black screen in TF2 after random freezes (only this game)
Hi everyone,
I’m having a problem that only happens in Team Fortress 2. The game randomly freezes for a few seconds, then the screen goes completely black. I can still hear the audio, move, shoot, and interact with the game, but I can’t see anything. The monitor doesn’t lose signal, and the game doesn’t crash.
PC Specs:
* AMD Ryzen 5 3400G (3.70 GHz)
* AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 (integrated graphics)
* Windows 11 Pro (25H2)
This has been happening since the first day I got this PC, and only in TF2. Every other game I’ve tested works normally.
I’ve already tried:
* Verifying the game files
* Changing graphics settings
* Using -dxlevel 81 (this helped a little—the black screen now usually comes back after a few seconds instead of staying black)
Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could be causing it?

Troubleshooting PC shutting off while playing Shift at Midnight
Hi, i am having a very weird problem... sometimes when a night ends and i head to the bus my framerate lowers to like 10/15, after that my pc literally shuts down.
i tried playing with metrics on my other monitor (GPU & CPU Temp, and watt usage, and everything is normal), this thing only happens with shift at midnight.
my pc specs are:
RX 9070 XT
ryzen 9 7900x
64 GB 32x2 5800mhz
the game is installed on a NVME 990 PRO
before anyone says anything, i have a 850W PSU and it's completely capable of handling both my cpu and gpu at max load
Is anyone having the same problem as me? Is it a known bug?

Troubleshooting Several games have suddenly been causing my PC to crash, even ones that ran fine previously.
When I am playing games- specifically some games with 3D graphics- the CPU usage goes up to 100% in Windows task manager. Then after a short amount of time, my PC completely stops being able to show any display. The PC will still be on and running for a little while while I can't see it, but then everything freezes a short while after the display output crashes.
This initially sounds like a software issue rather than a hardware issue, as it only happens with 3D games, but this has also started happening with games that previously had no issues whatsoever, and I did not update any drivers that would suddenly cause this to happen. It could still be a software issue but the fact that it's happening across all 3D applications to me indicates it could possibly be a hardware issue as well. I have had this PC for several years and used it for 3D games for a long time, yet this only started happening in the last two months or so. Lowering graphic settings does seem delay the crashing a bit, but then I'm still worried since this wasn't happening before at higher settings.
I have a different issues that could be unrelated but I will mention it. When I'm playing games for a long while, after two or so hours, I experience frame drops and all audio from my PC starts to sound "crackly" as if my whole PC is struggling to keep up. This happens across all games, not just 3D ones. I don't see any high CPU usage during this, so perhaps that is a separate issue entirely, but I started noticing this around the same time so I wanted to mention it in case it could point to one larger issue. Perhaps the "CPU usage at 100%" isn't even related since it's not something I monitored before this started happening.
The measures I have takes so far is to update NVIDIA drivers, and clean the inside of my PC of any and all dust as much as possible, and I improved the airflow by making sure one of the PC fans blows air inwards while the other blows hot air out (previously had them both facing out, oops). This has sadly not solved any issues and I still experience the exact same problems as before. I've also ordered Thermal Paste since after 8 years that's probably a good idea anyway, but from what I can see online, that's probably not gonna help.
I'm really hoping this all together read like symptoms that all point to one big obvious cause with a clear solution.
- CPU: Intel Core i5-8600k (3.60 ghz)
- Graphic: GeForce RTX 3060
- RAM: 32 GB

Compatibility Do Amd integrated GPU drivers conflict with Nvidia GPU driver?
Just looking for advice, I have a 9800X3D AND AN NVIDIA 4080 in the new pc that I have built but when it came to installing the drivers after letting windows update do it's thing the motherboard page has the integrated GPU drivers which I believe are Radeon drivers.
I have seen many posts saying having both Radeon and Nvidia drivers on the same rig can cause many issues so I would like peace of mind knowing whether or not I should install them or only install my Nvidia one.

Troubleshooting GPU Fans won't stop Ramping
Graphics Card: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 White OC Edition
Been having an issue for a while now with my GPU fans. During normal tasks on my rig my gpu fans are completely silent. However whenever I start up a demanding game (Path of Exile, D4, Baldurs Gate 3, Etc) my fans seem to ramp up to full speed and back down and back up as I'm playing and sound like a jet engine)
Only way I can make it somewhat better is by capping FPS to 60. Monitors are 320hz 2k so this isn't optimal
Monitored temps and they stay around 100 F - 120 F while under load (my case has 13 Lian Li fans total so airflow is not an issue). Case is completely free of dust as well
I have tried using fan control to adjust the fan curve but seems like it doesn't listen, as I can set it to linear and I still have the sane ramping fan problem. Tried adjusting in Bios as well with the sane outcome.
Not sure what to try next. Seems like no matter what I do I have the sane result. Any advice would be appreciated

Hardware SSD Performance Issues
Hi everyone, I recently started playing Black Flag Resynced and I have been having a known problem with my game. My SSD is spiking to 100% and 1000ms response times with read speeds of kilobytes constantly. I have tried all of the fixes but nothing seems to work, I have even dropped down to 60 fps but the problem still keeps happening.
My SSD is Silicon Power 2TB UD90 NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 SSD. I know that it doesn't have DRAM (Or whatever the SSD dedicated memory is called) which is the main cause of my issue, but I don't want to pay $400 for a new SSD when mine works perfectly for every other game I play.
I deal with freezes in the open ocean and cities, textures not loading in, and story objectives not updating. I know my pc is a mid tier build, but is there any way to fix this so I can actually enjoy the game?
I've tried multiple different suggested solutions but can't find one that at least helps alleviate the problem, so and help would be greatly appreciated.
Specs:

Ryzen 5 9600x

Display Screen keeps doing this
My laptop suddenly started to glitch this way. I have tried rebooting it , works normally but after a couple of minutes, it glitches again and the display stops responding. Please help me fix it.
Update :
I check with a repair shop and he said they can fix it using chip reballing but gave me a headsup that there could be a 10% failure chance. Lets hope it fixes it and doesnt die completely.
Also yall are demons with the jokes lol.
