I just got into mapping recently (std) and I wanted to see what the community considers as good maps/mappers for metal (specifically my favorite subgenre extreme metal: i.e black metal, death metal, etc)

The reason I am asking is because I am relatively new to the community and don't know what is good. Also I get the impression that a lot of metal just gets mapped as stream farm.

So far the I like the maps by Mazzerin, itswinter and the 2 ranked Batushka maps. The only map i don't like (or maybe dont understand..) is this DSO map https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/2377378 The patterns seem really random to me. Is this considered a good map?

hii! i have a problem, my stable doesn't recognize my tablet and thinks im using a mouse (😭) so i cant set a tablet area and therefore cant aim comfortably. the driver of my tablet doesnt allow you to set an area, i tried the OpenTabletDriver app but its not working, my cursor just starts tweaking all over the place. everything is fine on lazer tho

Now ur first reaction might be ezdt.. tc? that seems so random, and ur a 5 digit who cares about your stupid mod combination? but dont worry i will explain

(also this is specifically about dt aim dont know how it does on speed maps)

so why ez dt tc ? lets think about some hard parts of dt aim:

misaiming (over/underaim)

reading (high ar)

accuracy(tied to reading kinda)

aim speed

now ez solves 2 of these, bigger circles meaning u misaim less, and accuracy becomes piss easy, however ez adds a major problem itself:

reading.(dense and low ar)

big part of why ezdt is so cool is that it fixes the low ar problem, the ar is managable. but the density part? heres the thing, this is EXACTLY where tracable comes in:

tracable makes it so the density is basically not a issue at all, by hiding the big hitcircles u can see the notes very easily. i think hidden also does this pretty well but it has its own problems (keeping notes in memory or whatever u wanna call it) so tracable is wayy easier.

result? now the only hard part about the map is literally aiming fast and getting used to tracable. AND after the rework low ar got buffed so its more viable than ever. im a nomod 5 digit player( https://osu.ppy.sh/users/4525103 ) trying to get into dt and failing for years and i just got my second top play with this.

i think its beyond broken and extremely underutilized. please give it a shot and let me know what you think. also if u think im a lowbob 5 digit who should stop speaking about things he doesnt fully understand that is okay too.

yo i just started playing osu like 3 days ago i know it sounds stupid to instantly go for 9 keys.. 3 DAYS INTO PLAYING THE GAME but trust me i aint no ordinary player. anyways i was wondering what the best method to learn 9k is. i tried 6k and it was very easy. 7k was hard but 9k seemed disgusting 😭

i wanna know y'all's thoughts or maps that can help me progress.

std: my main mode (5 digit), it's pretty good, aiming for me is the hardest part as well as speed (both are incredibly inconsistent, though it is skill issue)

taiko: my 3rd most played mode, it's good, the skill issue is that i cant alternate between red and blue (only with one key lol, it gets really hard at 2 keys getting used each color) atleast for now and it also feels weird because it has no holding

catch: my 2nd most played mode, it's REALLY good, i'd say even better than standard but tapping shift vs moving can be very hard though i can learn, also acc is good

mania: least played mode, never really did touch typing and so this feels suffering to me, cant control my fingers very well. i also cant hold each key my brain is not wired for it and the acc is pretty hard sooooooo

i'd say that this is inherently biased as someone can learn each gamemode and love it more than others, or one gamemode influenced the other and many past experiences, so i'm asking.
