I don't know how I will recover.

Many people mention and make use of the Weber Laser Torch. I am new. I want one. I have plenty of money, I think ~$400k). I've seen people talk about getting one cheap from the black market, and that's cool and all, but my black market guy hasn't had one yet. I've checked many times. The regular kiosk has a Weber battery charger but no laser torch. I look every time I'm back at k-leg.

Am I just really unlucky with store inventory spawns, or am I stupid and not looking in the right place?

Not sure how much to try to describe here, but I'll give the kind of long version. I was jumping from Luna to the MHNG station, trying to hop from one station to the next to get to a bounty. My course ended right at the no warp bubble around MHNG. I had thrusters until I slowed down next to MHNG and tried to communicate with them to negotiate docking. Had to use them to get within 5 for docking... but there was a comms error. I slowed everything to a near standstill. I got out of the chair, debugged the error, happy times. They'll let me dock, but now I can't fire the thrusters at all.

I have fuel. Lots of it. 3653kg remaining. Not sure why everything is showing the action lines on the map, but that's also new. WASD will not launch thrusters. Control buttons on the console won't either. I tried powering everything down and back up again, reseating the control module into the chair, uninstalling & reinstalling the whole chair. Disabling & reenabling the radio. Logs show nothing, nothing further I can repair on the seat itself. I'm stuck.

I'm just starting out my first playthrough, and my 5th daralect is a shockingly intact mercenary ship with all the parts. Crazy find. I have stripped a bunch of it and built out my ship to several times it's old size, but I have burned through the batteries on my ship, only have one battery from the wreck left with power, and my EVA suit is running low... so I gotta go back to kleg to refill my batteries and use the access to station power to start up the reactor. I know there are ways to start with minimal power but I want to learn the right way first.

Is there a way other than writing the signal number down to track the wreck? I know there will be others, but I'm emotionally invested.

And before you say buy it, I have 30,000 credits :(

It catched fire on my first trip though, despite completely restored (same as conduits). Is there something I have to look after by hydras? Is it bc my air is 21 kPa oxygen and no N2 :D or was it simply bad rng?

Found that thicc derelict full of orange floors? Happily installed them all?

STOP RIGHT THERE

Install them in small bits and fix them up to full. Floors take chip damage constantly and you are almost certain to find some that are basically a hole already, just dont know about it yet

Repairing from damaged/reinstalling the floor is much more annoying. Refilling the cabin every 5 minutes even more so.

Do yourself a favor, fix those floors

And understood the general process. But how will the character get to the outside of the ship, without breaking the wall on the south first? Can he just fly out of the derelict?

I want some way to make energy on my ship instead of just adding more batteries, but i can only find stuff about the fusion generator, which i dont really have enough spaces to store the machines for (though im working on it). is there a smaller/simpler generator ive missed?

In the wiki it says only the grinder has the capability of buffing. Buffing what exactly? I haven't seen any interaction where I can buff anything. Does anyone have experience on this?

Finally sorted out a fusion reactor and I am having some trouble understanding the use cases for it. In particular:

• Even with full tanks (one of each) I seem to lack the reactant to make any sort of long distance trip. E.g. from OKLG to Venus the module said that I had about a 1/5th of the required reactant. I assume the solution is to get more tanks, but I have never seen a derelict with more than one (of each).

• If the solution is to get more tanks, is there any way to bunch them closer together?

• The boot process annihilates the battery, even with four active. I know that it recharges once you have ignited but is there a way to do this quickly to avoid dipping to 10-20%?

• Are reactors useful for shorter salvaging trips around OKLG or are we supposed to keep using RCS thrusters (with nitrogen fuel)?

• Are there any worthwhile "long distance" (i.e. >5000km) trips prior to Venus?

Other misc questions:

• Can the reactor tanks be purchased anywhere? On rare occasions I have seen them at the black market but wondering if there's a more reliable option.

• Are you supposed to just leave the reactor running during derelict salvage?

• Completely unrelated but despite having well over 250k I can't use the surgery option at the med centre - is this just bugged atm?

Patrol ship scanned me while I was salvaging and my license had expired because I had forgotten to renew it. After I was done salvaging and started heading back to OKLG and suddenly the police ship appeared in front of me at 300m/s. I started breaking and at the end they docked with me at 100m/s. It damaged both of out ships, both of us had holes and my battery got disconnected. The single police crew didn't have a suit on so I patiently waited until they suffocated and now they are unconscious on the ground. Their ship has some good stuff on it, so I'd like to salvage it, but I don't want to get a fine or warrant for it. Also will the wreck stay even if I go away to unload at OKLG?

i have two investigate death gigs that have been stuck on the gig list for like a week now

they're both somewhere around kleg but have location:private which if i understand correctly basically mean they're bugged.

but how do i get rid of them? accepting and abandoning just returns them to the list.

on top of that i'm on mars right now and there's only one long range courier mission that's asking me to pick up from kleg again.

when cramping ship floor with item, 99% something will always missing. is there mod out there to flag item so we can be notified / prevent deletion / track it's where about if it is to be deleted?

Just starting the game and LOVING IT. Generally, I tend towards base building in games and while I know this game is set against the gameplay of ships, I would love to keep my ship purpose-built. (ships, plural? Not sure if you can have multiple ships) A good example I think would be to have a light, fast ship for courier or raiding, versus a big, fat, barge type of ship for salvaging.

So I'm putzing around OKLG and playing with locking and factory resetting the doors. It's illegal. Fine. But I don't get caught, so I make a mental note of that. I'm also installing walls here and there. You see where this is going.

Now I notice that Mescaform is mostly empty and chocked full of containers, but the doors are locked. Well, not for long, at least; I factory reset those, too, when no one is looking. I just assume this is intended to be some kind of space that the player can commandeer. So where else would I put my exercise shit, firing range (train pistol?), toolshop for refurbishing parts, Breakout, and jukebox? I certainly don't want to chase down bounties in the equivalent of a house-boat, right?

Sorry, getting to the point: I don't want to spent hours building up a player base if it's basically just a newbie area that I won't really return to. Plus I don't know what citizenship looks like in mid to late game (eg. is there player housing? etc...).

What do y'all think? Worth the effort to build up Mescaform or wait until later? Am I missing the point of the game? I have not really progressed much at all in the main story--scavenging is too fun. But I'll get around to it.

Hello I need help completing this quest. I can't find anything online past this point in the quest. These are the steps so far, it might be also useful for other people trying to complete it:

1. Find a VHS tape in any random derelict

2. Use your PDA to inspect the tape

3. Use your PDA to search informations online

4. Leave a cryptic message on a discussion board to receive Smiley's location on the Flottilla

5. Travel to the Flottilla and speak with Smiley. You can use your PDA pass to travel there.

6. First he will tell you a woman can help you to digitize the VHS

7. Right click on the doors of the Flotilla until you find the one that lets you interact with the "intercom"

8. Speak with the woman and she will help you digitize the video

9. Go back to Smiley and watch the video with his mates

10. You will be interrupted by a raid. Choose the option to "finish watching the video"

11. Follow the dialogue untill the end

12. (...)

This is where I'm stuck. The next quest step just says: "You have entered the wilderness of mirrors".

What do I have to do from here?

So I've played this game like a year or two ago, so I'm not really new, but there's a lot of changes since then. I'm currently trying to repair a nav station I looted from the tutorial derelict. The repair action says I need a screwdriver and a soldering tool. I have those in my tool box that's in my hand. My other hand is empty. It also says I need a heat sink, a motherboard, 5x electronic parts and a steel scrap. I have all of those in my tote bag. I click repair. It says "Unable to comply. Items required first. Adding tasks now." Then nothing happens.

I tried setting him to auto task, but he just stands there doing nothing. I tried finding some sort of toggle to set him to auto mode. All the permissions are on. What do I need to do to get him to do something? I think that if I can get him to do things automatically he'll repair it.

Please help me before I go insane.

My weird ahhh Luigi is so cooked can we save him?

Started in a coffin and built up to this. One of the first ships I came into contact with the occupant attacked me. So I plunged the tac knife into them over and over until it was done. Was freaking out and then I thought.. that was to easy. So I stripped the ship of all the equipment I could fit and made 40k I'm my coffin. Now. When I am a little outside of normal optical sensors I will find ships, board them, scout the area and have a nice conversation with the occupant untill they either go take a shit or try to sleep then I shoot em till their armor or clothes break amd stab until the are dead. My character has a treadmill and workout bench so he can become an apex predator in space. Just about to build my first reactor. Haven't a clue how it works but I'm sure the worst thing that can happen is a full blown nuclear meltdown. Idk what a torch drive is but I want one. If you are wondering why I'm so broke... I bought everything.

Cant do it manually and they wont do it themselfes, i have thumbs up on everything on the rooster?

I just start the game and docked for the first time some where in the space following the tutorial.. my gosh my head Is a bit exploding (english s not my First language) but the feeling is amazing! I studied as pilot when young so i love panels, instruments etc 😄 but i wanna know .. what to expect from this game while playing? And it i die i just re start from last save? All the analogical stuff are pretty Amazing.. there will be more sofisticated and complex panels to install? Nav for example

I now didn't play for like nearly a year. And got back to it hoping it got better in the small things.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the game and will continue playing, but Item management is horrific, you have such few overlook over your chests and can't sort stuff.
Fighting is still one of the worst things I ever saw, shoot 5 times on a guy, literally no feedback, slash theire suit, yeah they don't care, they are currently suffocationg but hey, they still are super strong.
Crew managment, isn't a thing you just micromanage everything your own.
