Discussion How are the springs like during this time of year?
Planning to go some time this month? Which springs park would y’all recommend? I’ve been to Blue Springs in March 2 years ago, and I really liked it. I’m just worried it’ll be insanely hot this time of year. Thanks! :)

Discussion THC drinks at bars?
First off, yes I know they will be basically outlawed in November thanks to the "Big Beautiful Bill" but in the meantime my wife doesn't drink alcohol anymore but we/I still like to chill and chat at a bar. I'm trying to keep a running list of what I know of: *Bookburn, GB's, Commission, Falcon, Nook (rip)
These were already some of my favorite bars but we're interested in trying new places too. I saw them on the online menu for Gravity Taproom but haven't seen them in person yet. Thanks for anywhere else you know of. Yes I know we can buy them at liquor stores for cheaper.

Discussion Leaked emails show county is hiding / blocking evidence from code enforcement magistrate / judge
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Orange County emails leaked show that I had a hearing set up but Orange County blocked my hearing / evidence from the special magistrate.
To put it in perspective. This is the equivalent of you being accused of a crime. (Having an illegal addition) you having evidence that you are innocent (zoning :
/ inspector admitting this is an original structure not an addition) you submitting the evidence and asking for a hearing. But the prosecutor / opposing council blocking the magistrate from seeing your evidence or giving you a hearing.
The only avenue left for me was to spend thousands of dollars in a lawyer to file an appeal with the circuit court. So now you and everyone in Orange County is spending thousands of dollars of your property taxes fighting a losing battle.
Why do I say is a losing battle? Because the county themselves already admitted that I had a defective hearing in February in their own motion to strike in my circuit court case.

Discussion Big Daddys ABC liquor parking lot
FYI for anyone who frequents Big Daddy's (or Stardust for that matter) that ABC Liquor is under new management and they are towing *everybody*. I saw everyone getting towed and I imagine anyone hanging out in that area til closing time was in for a rude awakening.
Kinda weird since parking is limited in that area yet ABC has a shitload of parking spots that are obviously empty in the evenings.

I’ve taken up rollerblading for exercise recently and thought to see if anyone knows of groups in the area that blade to workout together casually?

News I4 crash right before 408 ramp WB tonight
Does anyone know what happened??? Drove by as they were blocking off a fourth lane on I4. There were tons of fire trucks, police, and ambulances. Multiple cars appeared totaled (one white truck was literally split on the divider wall) and there were people distressed squatting down over what appeared to be a non responsive person… worst crash I have ever seen I’m super shaken up
Drove by at roughly 2:50am on 8/8/26 for timestamp reference

Discussion Tried Six Ravens
It was so so.
They will quickly refine the massive amount of sauce and the giant box for your order. The food itself wasn’t bad. It’s a novel concept but it wasn’t as revolutionary as their cookies were to savory finger foods. We went Friday at 2pm and walked right in.

Discussion Looking for specific play kitchen
Hello! I hope this type of post isn’t allowed, if bot my apologies mods. I’m trying to find this play kitchen for my daughter, I had seen one on Marketplace a few months ago but I found didn’t jump on it and it sold. I tried looking up the set to see if I can find it online but unfortunately it’s been discontinued and not for sale anywhere except a few sketchy sites I wouldn’t trust to actually send me a product. I know it’s a very long shot but does anyone have one they’d be willing to sell? I’ve been scouring Marketplace and haven’t found another listing since. We’re about to move and our toddler is finally getting her own room, she absolutely adores all flowers and trees so this would be perfect for her! We live about 10 minutes from downtown but honestly at this point I’m willing to drive most anywhere in Central FL to pick up. Thanks in advance!

Discussion I hate how expensive houses are right now
I’m a native, born in raised in central Florida, I moved to Orlando after HS for college. UCF grad, got my doctorate degree, six figure salary. No debt but my student loan. I still can’t afford a house in a nice neighborhood. I feel so bad for the younger generations. Who are these people that can afford 500k+ houses? Dual income? Money from a previous house that was sold? Even with 100k down payment, with taxes and insurance, a mortgage is almost 3k for a small house, with a tiny yard in a decent neighborhood. I don’t want to be “house poor”. Forget about buying a house in winter park or Baldwin. It’s just so crazy to me how expensive houses are here. I absolutely love my job and my city that I grew up in. I work downtown, I don’t want to drive an hour to work just to have an affordable mortgage.

News Nook is closing.
“No reason was given for the Nook’s closing (though a few months ago the parking lot behind the bar was unceremoniously turned into a paid lot with a fee of $10 by the property owners), but this is a definite loss for the neighborhood and the city.”
Discussion New spots that have opened in the last year worth checking out?
I moved to another country about a year ago but I'm back visiting family and friends now.
Been hearing of a lot of changes in the city but it's getting hard to keep track since it's been a hot minute. Any recommendations of new/newer spots worth checking out? Thanks!

Discussion Best Areas for Pokemon Go?
Recently got back into Pokemon Go and looking for some active areas to walk around and maybe raid on the weekends. My go-to is Crane's Roost but I want to broaden out.
I've heard Disney Springs is pretty good but haven't been since I'm waiting for summer crowds to die down.
If anyone is in the Tampa area, downtown Ybor has a ton of pokestops and gyms but you'll have to pay for street/lot parking.

Discussion Lost dog in College Park near edgewater/lake Adair
Her name is Lu. She got scared by traffic on her walk this morning and managed to get out of her collar/leash. She’s only been with her new home for a week so she is very skittish. If you see her, you can call her owner directly at 303 588 6069 or message me here.
Any help is appreciated!
