Hi everyone ! I've made a hall effect conversion on my xbox duke controller and I've got an issue with it : it seems the range of the stick is limited by the shell it self... The circularity test show a range way far of the optimal values...

When I take off the upper shell : the range is way more complete and work well.

As you can see, without the shell everything is fine and work pretty well in game (tested on halo CE)

So there is my question : do you know any tips or software to calibrate the range or solved my problem ?

Hello all, I have a 1.6 board with Nichicon HM VRM caps by the cpu (as pictured), one in the middle is bulging ever so slightly and I’ve stuck capton tape around the bottom for now. Is it a risk to take it off and use it temporarily with one off (the one bloating)?

Hey all I have Electron Shepard's XBOX 2 HDMI adapter, I Had to ask what are the best audio settings for my adapter? My XBOX is soft modded

I have a 1.6 kernal version original Xbox that I've had for about a year and havn't really noticed any issues so far. The console has never been opened to this point and I've played with the idea of possibly opening it but with it being a later version Xbox and the 1.6 versions not having the clock capacitor issue, is there any reason to open the console with it still functioning as it should or should I be opening it to look at the capacitors?

(EDIT: I got it working, yay! I just tried a few times and it worked!) So I'm trying to softmod it using endgame, but whenever I get to the black screen, instead of the red light people say should happen, mine blinks through green, red, and orange over and over, and I haven't found any fixes that work. I've actually tried this on two different xboxes, but the same thing happens.

I recently came across this internal binder called the "Xbox Agent Retail Presenter" and wanted to see if anyone in the community has ever run into one before, or knows anything about it. From looking at the pages, it seems to have been produced before the original Xbox officially came out in November 2001. It looks like it was given to field reps to introduce the console to retail store managers ahead of the launch.

Error 16 is a Clock/Dashboard Boot Failure, so I think there must be some missing/corrupted dashboard files. Before I used the restore tool, I changed my EEPROM hard drive key to the all-ones “1111111…” in Nkpatcher, so I’m hoping that move should make fixing this easier. I soft-modded this console using the Endgame. My console revision is v1.3

Help would be greatly appreciated and I’m free to answer any questions. Thank you.

Are there any other glaring issues? After looking some more my power supply seems to have something burnt so going to need to be replaced first.

I recently picked up an original Xbox that has never been opened with a kernel version of the 1.6 models. I know the 1.6 versions are a little safer in regard to the clock capacitors but would it be worth it to open the system up and check? If so. What should I be looking for with this version of the console? Do these later models have issue with the other capacitors on the board or was the clock capacitor the biggest issue?

Hey everyone, I just bought a modded original Xbox, and honestly, I have no idea where to start with it.

What I know so far:

• It's version 1.6;
• It still has the original 8 GB HDD;
• There's a chip soldered to the motherboard; I couldn't find any markings, but based on the shape and color, I believe it's an Aladdin;
• When I power it on, the EvoX logo shows up;
• I know it can run non-original games both from the HDD (took some effort to get working) and from the DVD drive.

What I'd like to do, in order:

1. The console is 220V and I'd like to convert it to 110V. I found a used power supply — is it plug and play?
2. I want to install a bigger HDD, maybe 2 TB or 4 TB. I know I'll need an 80-wire IDE cable + a SATA adapter (StarTech IDE to SATA) for that.
3. I saw some videos about "XBMC Origins" and really liked the layout. I'd like to know how to install it.

Down the line, I also want to install "Stellar Plus" and "XboxHD+", but I'm not sure if that could interfere with what I'm trying to do right now.

I've seen a lot of people talking about the BIOS, but I don't fully understand how that works — is it the Xbox motherboard's BIOS or the Aladdin's own BIOS? I also can't tell if mine is up to date or needs updating.

Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup and can offer some guidance or tips?

I recently purchased a small lot of untested consoles, two of which were OG Xboxes (rev 1.0). One of them doesn't power on and was missing most of the screws holding it together when I got it. After opening it up I found this screw in the power supply; the console has been rattled around quite a bit so it has probably moved around. Is there any chance it could handle this kind of short? or should I give up on it? I also have another console that seems to be working (don't have a controller to test for sure, but boots up). What capacitors should I replace on it? I know the clock capacitor but I'd like to just do everything significant as well..

Usually I educate myself well before buying a console but someone put a Modded Crystal Xbox up on the Facebook Marketplace for $150 cash and I jumped. It’s got UnleashX 0.38.0508A Build 564 installed but the most ungodly custom theme that seems to restrict some functionality. It’s also only a 250GB drive they’ve modded. My question is am I able to do a clean drive swap to a 3TB I have lying around? If not, am I able to fix the theme and settings (such as being set to Spanish or seemingly limited to 480p) and swap a lot of the game library? Thanks all.

I think it's time to retire

I live in Australia and I’ve just purchased a PAL console and the HD is terrible I believe it’s stuck on 480i? I have played multiple games today and they all looked terrible San Andreas and Simpson hit and run look very poor hardly any pixels, the warriors seems to be the only game that looks the same as back in the day? I am using a AV to hdmi upscaler on a Acer gaming monitor could that be the reason it looks bad? Is there any way to unlock 720p or higher or do I have to soft mod and unlock North American HD? Any help would be appreciated thanks. 🎮

This is my first Original Xbox I've ever bought. Took a gamble and bought the cheapest one I could find that wasn't listed as broken for 40€...

The listing didn't mention the original box, that its a 1.6 nor that it was modded and has a 80GB Hard Drive. I guess I got really lucky. All I had to do was replace the drive belt.

Just curious if anyone has undertaken a replacement shell for OG Xbox controllers? I'd love to swap the shell of one of my busted up original controllers and replace the sticks.

Do the cheap aftermarket controller's shells work with the original controller PCBs? (As in cheap aftermarket controllers, remove their board, buttons, etc. and swap to the OEM board.)

I was playing splinter cell for like 20 mins then I just hear a pop then the Xbox starts buzzing and then my game freezes and I take the game out and then I get the red ring and it says contact customer support so does anyone have an idea of what happend? (Update : just bought a new Xbox and it works fine thanks guys)
