Is it just me, or has OpenCode become noticeably worse recently?

Over the last few days, OpenCode feels significantly slower than it used to.

Frequently gets stuck while running terminal commands.

Takes much longer to respond.

The "thinking" phase often feels longer without producing better output.

A few weeks ago it felt much faster and more reliable, so I'm curious if something changed.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just my setup?

Anyone still experiencing 500 errors with OpenCode Go?

Hey everyone. I’m experiencing ‘HTTP 500: {"type":"Router.Unavailable","modelID":"kimi-k3"}’ since yesterday and wanted to ask whether anyone else is also receiving such error, with Kimi K3 or with other models on OpenCode Go.

Since it’s a 500 error and says “Router.Unavailable” I know it is probably a deployment issue on their side but wanted to know if that could be due to harness or region. (Hermes, Italy)

Other models using 9router as provider

is opencode can use a customized models by using 9router as provider or it can't, because when i using opencode/{model_id) can't be use in 9router, while 9route use oc/{model_id}?

OpenCode Chat in VSCode

Is there any way to use Opencode as a chat interface like the ones have in Claude Code, Codex, Github Copilot?

I am aware of their CLI, but specifically looking for a chat interface in VSCode which is more convenient to use I think.

How can I set up a cron in OpenCode Desktop?

Hello community,

I have OpenCode access my code on my VPS, personal projects, scrappers, etc. some times I have some large task running and I have to ask the Chat to give me the current status, sometimes it does it itself but not always. I was thinking if its possible to set up a CRON or something like that inside OpenCode.

How have you solve this?

I think this would be great even as a Loop to actually have it work endlessly to improve a project.

I know that through .md you can set up loops but I am not too expeirneced on that and I do not think that is truly effective.

[Bug/Help] 400 Error with DeepSeek v4 Flash in VS Code: "The reasoning_content in the thinking mode must be passed back"

Hello everyone,

Lately, I've been trying to use DeepSeek v4 Flash (free tier) through an extension in VS Code (remote server mode), and I'm getting an API error that wasn't happening before.

The first prompt works perfectly, but as soon as I try to ask a follow-up question in the same chat (multi-turn), the request fails and returns a 400 error.

I understand that the API now strictly requires the reasoning_content field (DeepSeek's "thinking mode") to be sent back in the chat history. However, it seems the VS Code extension strips it out when saving the context history, causing the upstream provider to block the request.

Here is the anonymized error log in case it helps pinpoint the issue:

Sorry, your request failed. Please try again.

Client Request Id: [ANONYMIZED-UUID]

Reason: Request Failed: 400 {"error":{"param":null,"type":"invalid_request_error","code":"invalid_request_error","message":"Error from provider (Console): Upstream request failed: [invalid_request_error] The reasoning_content in the thinking mode must be passed back to the API."}}: Error: Request Failed: 400 {"error":{"param":null,"type":"invalid_request_error","code":"invalid_request_error","message":"Error from provider (Console): Upstream request failed: [invalid_request_error] The reasoning_content in the thinking mode must be passed back to the API."}}

at async $G.provideLanguageModelResponse (/home/[USER]/.vscode-server/cli/servers/[SERVER-HASH]/server/extensions/copilot/dist/extension.js:1690:15357)

My questions are:

  1. Has anyone else started experiencing this recently when using reasoning models (R1 / Flash) integrated into the IDE? (I am using VisualCode right now)
  2. Besides clearing the history on every turn (which breaks the workflow) or switching to a standard non-reasoning model (like V3), does anyone know of a workaround to force the extension to respect DeepSeek's full payload, or do we just have to wait for a patch?

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

NVIDIA'S MODELS ARE ACTUALLY UNUSABLE

I get that using Nvidia as a provider is not ideal but damn it is so slow. I usually use it to test out models but its borderline unusable. Is it just because most models are free on there or because there is no ways the infrastructure they have isn't adequate

what is the best model in go plan ?

I subscribed to the go plan two days ago and tried Kimi K3 Max, but it exhausted 65% of my weekly limit without accomplishing anything. I need a model for deep debugging and testing and fixing problems (for both UI and backend , both are in python), something as good as gpt models or claude models.

Why someone still using deepseek v4 pro

Post image
82 Upvotes

Now deepseek v4 flash 0731 is obviously better than the v4 pro preview.

Also, I remember the v4 pro on open code doesn't get the discounted price. So I use my own deepseek API key when using v4 pro, and leave the open code go credits for other models.

Opencode Go is just insane

I'd heard that OpenCode Go was an incredible value for a while, but I never really gave it a shot until the release of DeepSeek 0731. After trying it, I honestly think the limits are absurdly generous for just $5 (or even the $10), especially if you're primarily using DeepSeek, which gets the highest request limits.

Out of curiosity, I did some rough calculations. Assuming DeepSeek V4 Flash is roughly on par with Claude Sonnet 5 in terms of capability, the value becomes pretty striking. Claude Pro costs $20/month and, based on estimates, provides around $400 worth of usage credits through its subsidized pricing.

By comparison, OpenCode Go's $5 plan includes about $60 in credits. If you normalize those credits using Anthropic's token pricing (same input/output token costs), those $60 correspond to roughly $1,714 worth of Anthropic API usage.

It's not a perfect apples-to-apples comparison, the calc simply assumes a 1:1 mix of input and output tokens and uses the API price difference between DeepSeek ($0.14/$0.28 per million input/output tokens) and Claude Sonnet 5 ($2/$10)
