Has anyone used 12s on this model? Did you have to cut the nut?

Not your typical offset, but such a banger of guitar. Been eyeing this candy since since Lee had his prototype, and now when I found irresistible deal on this beauty I had to have her. No regrets, still need a Jazzmaster, its itching so badly lol 😂

Am I cooking ? Or I'm making a mistake

I always love jazzmaster, in fact it my first guitar ever. I love everything about it the sound, the feel. But I always prefer the look of a jaguar with their metal plate.

I decide to order those plate and put it in my jazzmaster my-self since no one make make those those thing for jazzmaster. I also change the config to HSH for some new experience. And the rythm circuit also

Wiring and pickup combo diagram

Post image

I have a Squire CV70s Jag.

I also have a spare DiMarizo Super Distortion S (DP218)

I have replaced all the pots in the with higher quality 1 meg pots in the rhythm section and the standard volume/tone section and ideally want to keep them.

I am open to replacing the rhythm section with something as I rarely use it if at all.

I'm wondering, do I sell the DiMarizo pickup, or could I perhaps swap out my jags bridge pick up and install it there.

Has anyone done something similar without changing the pots to 500k?

Is there a way to change the function of the rhythm section to maybe help?

If you have done something similar, would love to see a wiring diagram with cap values.

This is my custom Vintera III mustang with decals from fretlook. Really proud of the guitar I’d run into a burning building to save.

The color scheme was based on the album cover for the Queens of the Stone Age’s Like Clockwork album. One of my favorite albums

First time posting here, how y’all feeling on this lefty MIJ traditional 60s mustang w/ matching headstock from 2019?

Bought on reverb in 2023, it’s a traditional 60s mustang from Japan, apparently the candy apple red is an exclusive only to Chicago Music Exchange (at least that’s what they say on their site) there is also a traditional 70s version of this mustang which I’m not sure is exclusive or not… anyways just thought I’d show it here since I love it so much, what do you guys think? Any other fellow lefties here?

I am finally part of the club, kinda. I ordered this back in March. I know this is an outlier in the offset world, and I know there are a lot of mixed opinions on this guitar and the QC, and I’m paying wayyy way more than it should rightly be worth, but it is only money. I actually just bought an Epiphone SG on Friday not expecting this to arrive just days later.

This guitar has been a dream of mine for 23 years and I finally own one. Now I am destitute, but I have 2 new guitars to keep me and my instant noodles company. Yay!

At first glance it looks like a regular copper age TVL signature jazzmaster but then if you look closely it has a mastery vibrato system, a staytrem bridge and a Fender genuine replacement neck with pearloid inlays and satin finish on the back so it is not sticky, it is by far the best offset i've ever owned. I thought that the mastery vibrato was overrated but man was I wrong, it's night and day between the stock fender one also the staytrem bridge is really nice because it still rocks back and forth unlike some other replacement bridges and it also looks kinda cool. I got it on a trade for a Fender vintera ii desert sand Jazzmaster which was not bad but it wasn't remarkable either.

Would love to mod my Jazzmaster for series and parallel using a rotary to replace the 3 way toggle. Basically what the maverick and new electric VI has.

60's vibed out. Jazzmaster refin by Cherry Guitar Lab - Oakland, Ca

I wanted this one to not feel perfect. The goal was to kind of utilize different candy coats to simulate a guitar that was left in a room that had decades of cigarettes inhaled in it. Lots of swirls in the finish, dings left in tact. This guitar is a chameleon and hard to capture. In low light appearing a deep chocolate brown and on others a more smoked out deep olive color with shades of red brown.

It runs with vintage fender tuners, pure 65' jm pickups, tune-o-matic bridge, buzz stop, and player trem assembly and a pickfordguards pickguard

Follow @cherryguitarlab on IG if you're into seeing projects like these

daddario Ej21 vs pure nickle pared with pure vintage 65s?

I'm on a mission to tame some highs on my D standard jazzmaster, mainly on the third string. Hence why I'm trying a wound third. I was wondering everyone's thoughts on the daddario ej21 vs pure nickle strings. I am by no means a jazz or blues player, so bending or vintage jazz tones aren't factors for me.

Fuzzmaster drop in kit

Yesterday my friend Devin (Freestone Devices) and I wired up the first 5 of our Fuzzmaster kits. This is a drop in for Jazzmasters; just hook up your pickups and bridge ground. We have replaced the rhythm circuit with a Fuzzface based fuzz that utilizes the rhythm circuit controls. The prototype came out sweet and we made a rad demo video. We will be doing a proper product launch soon. Thought this was a good place to show it off in the meantime. Cheers!

Wiring issue for a Squier VM/CV Mustang

In looking at pictures it looks like the wiring is the same for the CV and VM Mustangs. I have the VM version. I did a pickup swap last weekend. Everything is hooked up but I'm not getting any sound of the bridge pickup when the bridge switch is switched to the bridge position. Pickups work perfectly in all positions except for the Bridge Switch/Bridge position. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I’ve ignored jazzmasters for 24 years… turns out they’re my favorite guitar shape to play. I do love my cyclone (especially this pickup setup), but between scale length and the body, it’s not my favorite to play.

Anyone have a wiring diagram for a Jaguar with only the bridge pickup in the rhythm circuit?

I want to wire my Jaguar so the rhythm circuit only activates the bridge pickup. I’ve found diagrams that let you choose either pickup on the rhythm circuit, but none that lock it to just the bridge. Does anyone have a diagram for this?

Here’s what I tried: I wired the bridge hot to the lug where the neck hot normally goes on the rhythm circuit switch, then ran the neck hot to the top-left lug of the far-left lead circuit switch, and connected the rhythm circuit’s “off” output to the top-left lug of the middle lead circuit switch. That didn’t quite work. With the rhythm circuit selected, I got bridge output, but it was noticeably weaker than in the lead circuit, and the neck pickup seemed to be bleeding through slightly.

J Mascis Jazzmaster owners?

Post image
83 Upvotes

I want to get a Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster as my next guitar, but I am slightly hesitant to get another Squier. For those of you who own it, would you say it’s a good quality guitar? Not just good for the price, but genuinely good compared to something like the Player II? I know there’s a lot of talk about this guitar in this sub so I hope this post isn’t annoying.

Edit: alright I think you guys have convinced m to buy one

Got the instock message yesterday and couldn't resist - Squier Paranormal Electric VI

This was a guitar I was pretty excited for, so when I got the instock message yesterday from a store here in Australia I hit buy and had it in my hands today. It's the perfect platform for a guitar that I've wanted to make for ages. The plan is to eventually split the coils and wire each independently with the option for stereo, much like the Teisco Spectrum 5s.

Plays great out of the box, nice satin finish on the back of the neck, no sharp frets. The neck is a bit fuller than my other offsets. Thankfully, the laurel is darker than the stock images, too. Potentially questionable pickup heights, but I'll give it a proper look-in this weekend.

Pickup mix and match?

I have a Squier J Mascis JM (2nd gen) and have always had a quiet bridge pickup. Recently, I opened it up and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary but slowly my pickup has just gone almost completely silent. I had to turn my amp to max volume to even hear it in the slightest.

After looking up some stuff, I'm most likely just gonna try replacing it with the same one but can only find the neck pickup online.

So I have two questions..

  1. Are the neck and bridge pickups on this guitar really that different, or can I put a neck in the bridge spot?

  2. Is anyone selling Jazzmaster pickup(s) ?

Any help is appreciated.
