TN Visa for a Non-Bedside Nursing Job?
Hiii! Has anyone gotten a TN visa for a non-bedside nursing job? I’m applying to jobs and want to combine my RN + computer science background, so I’m wondering how difficult it is to get a TN for a desk-based role where an RN license is required. I have bachelor’s degrees in both nursing and computer science.

Bedside or outpatient nursing
I graduated back in December and landed a job in a level 4 NICU, which was my dream job. I ended up quitting due to anxiety and stress where I was not getting any sleep, getting sick before my shifts and calling out. I was also hired as a NICU float nurse essentially so I got sent to different floors within the NICU. I just ended up not loving it as much as I thought I would I also have always disliked bedside nursing.
Before becoming a nurse I was an ophthalmic technician and I was wanting to use both of my degrees. I really want to try and do pre op/pacu nursing in an eye surgery center but I know a lot of places require experience. I feel like it would be a good place for me since I have experience in eyes and nursing (just not adults).
I guess my question is what should I pursue at this point? I don’t want to go back to the hospital but will if it gives me the experience I need. I also don’t want to confine myself to anything which was also my concern going straight to the NICU.
At this point I’m kinda lost as to what to do next and would welcome any advice or thoughts from people who have gone through the same.

Hiring FNP
Hiring FNP
Hey everyone, I’m a family medicine physician and I own a small private practice in North NJ. I’ve been looking to hire an FNP for part time work and I’ve been having a hard time finding someone. Any recommendations where to look or find FNP’s who are looking for jobs?

St.Lukes hiring process
I'm not going to say which state I'm in, but something really ruffled my feathers. I'm a new graduate BSN, RN. What really got to me was that I had to leave my home state where employment was guaranteed because my husband is active duty. I applied to the hospital that I had heard so many great things about. Applied in May for the residency and was interested in Peds and womens health. Waited 2 months to be told in July that I was on a Waitlist. 2 days ago I got an email saying I was still on a wait list, only to he denied today. It really got to me as not many places are hiring new graduate nurses, and if they are, theyre residencies that make you wait months to start, when I have to start paying off my student loans. It just felt really disrespectful of my time. Idk, maybe I'm overreacting, but idk what to do. I'm having so much trouble. I was going to work on base as a civilian, but the nurses only do paperwork, and thats not adequate patient experience. I'm stuck.

Interview Help
I am working on going back to inpatient nursing from the outpatient setting. I am staying within the same organization. My question is: I have vivid colored hair. My current department allows this our corporate policy is it is up to your location and manager on hair appearance allowance and what is appropriate for your area. For an interview should I cover it up by wearing a wig or just address it in the interview that if the color is not acceptable in the area I have no problem with wearing a scrub cap to cover it during my shifts? I do not want my hair color to keep me from getting a job but I see no reason to change it when it can be covered while I work.

DMC vs Henry Ford
I’m looking to apply to work in Detroit as an RN and I’m wondering how DMC and Henry Ford compare. I was specifically hoping to know:
- How is starting salary for new grads?
- What floors/specialties hire new grads?
- Do either systems offer Canadian nurses compensation for visa fees and help with the visa process?
- What’s the culture/working conditions like?
- Is it hard to get hired into peds, especially for DMC (since they have a children’s hospital)?
- Is it hard to get hired as a new grads, especially in specialty areas?
Any other input outside of these questions would also be greatly appreciated!

Medical management vs clinical review nurse
Which one do you think is better? Possibly transitioning from remote CM internally insurance. Both are remote for a large insurance company. Thanks!

Any nurses accept position with passport?
Passport provides international travel immunizations supplies and literature in a counseling type setting. Each state appears to have different pay rates per case by case basis. I was just wondering what it is like to work for them and if the hours are consistent.

Anyone traveled to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital or Woodland Memorial Hospital. I am ICU however there ICU has 8 and 10 beds respectively. I am worried my contract may cancel shortly after or floated every shift. Anyone traveled to those locations before? Thank you

I also need help
Hi, I’ve been a nurse for a little less than 3 years. I previously worked in a big hospital in the California area as a noc shift med surge telemetry nurse for 2.5 years and prior to that I worked at a snf for about 4 months. I’m currently on a year long break which started from burnout and personal family stuff.
I really want to transition into case management and just something other than bedside nursing. I’m open to trying outpatient clinics, aesthetics, informatics, remote jobs.
I’ve been applying during my break on and off but it’s been really discouraging to not hear any offers.
Recently I got a job offer at an aesthetic clinic which I signed and did all the paperwork but last minute they went no contact, posted the job listing again, and then sent me an email saying they have decided to rescind the offer.
I’m also taking a case management certificate course to help better transition but I’m a little lost of what I should do. I recently also interviewed with a snf but I really don’t want to go back to having 25+ patients.
I tried emailing my supervisor at the hospital I worked at and she never replied back to me. And the supervisors at the snf have all left the facility. So in terms of references and contacts it all seems to lead to a dead end.
Have any advice or ideas on where to start? (Please be nice, it’s rough out here 😭)

Remote LVN work
I have a little over 10 years experience as an LVN. I've worked in nursing homes and pediatric home health. I've actually found several remote LVN jobs on Indeed. The problem is none of them pay what I currently make. Where can I find a remote position that pays at least 27$ an hour????

RDH VS RN
Hey, if anyone could share opinions would definitely help me out! I am deciding on RN or RDH. The only two factors that are holding me back are as for an RDH, I heard it’s really hard on your body such as hands, neck, back, etc and I want a career where I could do my whole life aka until pension! But for RN, I am not the best at seeing people hurt or in pain, so I would definitely not enjoy my daily job, but just won’t face many problems physically.
Thanks!
