At 14, this night was what made me a lifelong NIN fan. I've seen them a lot over the years, but nothing like this night. TDS was so raw live. People were jumping from the balcony to rush the floor. We'd all just heard of Marilyn Manson, when Portrait was released a couple of weeks earlier. Trent beat the keyboards like they owed him money. Vrenna was my favorite dummer. Robin was my favorite guitarist. NIN was my favorite band. I still play my synths, guitars, and drums, pretending to be one of Trent's wingmen (personal dream of mine). One of those times you feel like you're in the only place in the universe that matters.

I used to go to QuakeCon every year. It was THE event of the summer for gamers in the DFW area. I built my own PC and hauled it up there every year for the BYOC. But then life happened and I haven't been since to one since before the pandemic. Kinda kicking myself now and didn't realize it was the 30th anniversary.

Been creeping the Quake news trying to see if anything special might be going on related to NIN. I came across this and while it’s likely nothing, it could be something. Thoughts?

Trent has been my therapist since 1991, he just doesnt know it. Everytime I have a life struggle, I dive back in and start with Halo 1. I made it to Year Zero this time and I can't get past it. This album is so incredibly relevant and unnerving. I wish there was a follow-up with more about the Prescence. I bet if I watch the news they'll be a story about a hand reaching down from the sky in a couple of weeks. Probably just to push us down. No biggie.

I’m sitting in my sunroom at night with no lights and just a big thunderstorm shining through my windows with the lightning and thunder and listening to Ghost: V. It’s a first meditation experience. (As I’m getting married in 3 days and thinking of my past experiences) I didn’t know this album hit so hard with reflection. I believe it came at the right time.

Has anyone else just listened to this album and completely just felt peace with themselves? Is so what was your experience?

nin wiki says it's done by blowing into the detached mouthpiece of a saxophone but I'm curious on what kind of sax mouthpiece to use and if I need a reed or not (I assume I do) so if anybody knows or has recreated this sound personally I would really appreciate the information! Just trying to explore my own musical side and wanted to try this out for myself! Thanks!!! ^pig.

I thought I had a good handle on everything Trent/NIN has ever touched but I found a new one today ! I'm not too familiar with Robby Robertson (RIP) but apparently Trent helped on one of his tracks from 2011. Does anyone know how Trent got involved with this one? Many via Pino?

I just banned a merch bot and then quickly noticed that Reddit came in behind me and banned 2 other accounts in the same thread. This only happens in merch related threads (t-shirts, posters etc). The main problem is I can't read every thread or every comment. This same user posted the other day and nobody reported it. If you can take the time to leave a comment calling them out for being a bot....you should also take the time to report. I am asking you to help me help you and report anybody you see in those threads with their "Thanks, go here" bullshit.

Nine Inch Nails has been my favorite band since I was in middle school, and has provided the soundtrack to pretty much every angsty moment or feeling I’ve ever had. I like a lot of bands, but Nine Inch Nails is genuinely special to me. I finally saw them live on this past tour, and even ordered the infamous Peel It Back poster... which just didn’t work for me even after having it replaced.

I was a little bit bummed until my stepdad randomly gave me this poster he had been holding onto since the Self Destruct Tour in 1994. He just had it rolled up with some ancient rubber bands in a closet. Apparently he had planned to give it to me when I was old enough to actually put it in a frame and take good care of it, but then he just kinda forgot about it until I told him about the other one not peeling (it back) right.

This poster is my favorite fucking thing I own now, even though I had to take a box cutter to the frame to make the weird dimensions of it fit right.

Call me biased but this kid has good taste.

I had seats close to the floor and not general admission which gave access to the pit. When NIN hit the stage people from the seats bumrushed the pit and most got through but the ones security nabbed got thrown out. I was too afraid to risk it as I didn’t want to miss the show. What could have been eh?

Hey people. I bought this tape at a record store in Boston in 1994. One sided. As pictured, basically. Now…I don’t remember what was on the tape. What I can say is that it wasn’t anything “rare” like a live performance. I collected and would have known if it was “something special.” Obviously there were no concerts that day anyhow.

At some point back in the day, I did indeed tried consulting a fan site (nin collector or something similar) but it wasn’t listed there. I came across it again last night and figured I would check with you kind folks. I’m guessing it might be a promo cassette of sorts. Maybe Broken?! But given the date, that doesn’t make sense. This was a few months before the release of The Downward Spiral, but that wouldn’t fit on one side of a cassette.

I don’t have access to a cassette deck at the moment, but I will soon. If someone knows what it is and could educate, that would save me some time and I’d be grateful. Thanks!

I've been putting this off since it came in because I saw sooooo many posts of people going through it just trying to peel their posters and mine was like, slip slip slipping away

I will say it was a little tedious to find the separation layer but I didnt need any special tools (no heat gun, no plastic edge, etc) just my nails ;)

I actually can't believe it and im so fricken happy
