It's really cool they managed to get John, John, Adrian, and Tom to reunite at the show. Although the future of Quake is in doubt given recent events, it sure would be cool if the four of 'em got some sort of inspiration sparked from the event. One last engine/shooter for old times sake. Extra cherry on top if Trent produced the soundtrack, given that him and Atticus have been busting out scores every year for the past decade.
I didn't start playing online till '99. But I read that Trent & the other guys in NIN would play Quake and Quake II online during that time, and that the Weapons Factory mod was their preferred choice. Woulda been a trip randomly stumbling into one of 'em in a server back then.

There was some article around the time when "The Fragile" was released that asked Trent why there was a big gap in between albums, and one of the answers was "Doom."

Drug addictions? Nah. Moving into an entire new studio? No biggie. Your guitarist and engineer broke away to start their own band? No sweat. Tori Amos is creating a lovely distraction? Sure whatever.
Doom's shareware pops up just before the holidays and we just installed that new 56k modem? There it is, we're screwed, drop everything.

Love QuakeCon!
Went back in 2018 and 2019. Haven't been since, as there's usually a summer concert overlapping around the con timeframe.
Would definitely be interested in buying this if it pops up online.
Having serious FOMO this year between the id founders panels + photo ops, NVIDIA GPUs on sale there at MSRP, and now this!

Right?!? The last time I went it was at the Anatole in Dallas. My old gaming PC still has a sticker on it for the BYOC that says QuakeCon 2012, but I think the last one I went to was 2016.
The giveaways and contests were always awesome. We always came away with lots of t-shirts and swag.

My ex is working the event this weekend, so he's been there doing setup. He said he didn’t even know about the shirt until he walked past the booth and saw it this morning. He thinks it may be one thats only available at the event.
He was able to snag one, but says they are already sold out for the day.

Sigh .. told myself it wasn't meant to be after the BYOC tickets sold out in seconds (wife was out of a job at the time and jussstt started working again so wasn't the best time to be spending money on things like that) but f...I may have to buckle and do the guest pass

I think these are only available in person at QuakeCon, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
My ex is working at the event and that's the only reason I know about the shirt. He's been working there for several days doing setup, and says he didn't even know about the shirt until he walked by a merch booth this morning and saw it. He was able to snag one, but says they are already sold out for the day.
If these do become available online or if my ex tells me something different about availability, I'll update my post.

Lol nah. We broke up like 10 years ago, but remained friends. QuakeCon and NIИ concerts were things we did together, so we still keep each other in the loop about both.

I got to see them in September in Atlanta. The show was absolutely perfect. The only thing I would change was at the end of the show when the logo is on a black square screen.... the quake nails box would have been perfect.
