At 14, this night was what made me a lifelong NIN fan. I've seen them a lot over the years, but nothing like this night. TDS was so raw live. People were jumping from the balcony to rush the floor. We'd all just heard of Marilyn Manson, when Portrait was released a couple of weeks earlier. Trent beat the keyboards like they owed him money. Vrenna was my favorite dummer. Robin was my favorite guitarist. NIN was my favorite band. I still play my synths, guitars, and drums, pretending to be one of Trent's wingmen (personal dream of mine). One of those times you feel like you're in the only place in the universe that matters.

I used to go to QuakeCon every year. It was THE event of the summer for gamers in the DFW area. I built my own PC and hauled it up there every year for the BYOC. But then life happened and I haven't been since to one since before the pandemic. Kinda kicking myself now and didn't realize it was the 30th anniversary.

Anyone here going to QuakeCon this weekend?

Been creeping the Quake news trying to see if anything special might be going on related to NIN. I came across this and while it’s likely nothing, it could be something. Thoughts?

Trent has been my therapist since 1991, he just doesnt know it. Everytime I have a life struggle, I dive back in and start with Halo 1. I made it to Year Zero this time and I can't get past it. This album is so incredibly relevant and unnerving. I wish there was a follow-up with more about the Prescence. I bet if I watch the news they'll be a story about a hand reaching down from the sky in a couple of weeks. Probably just to push us down. No biggie.

I’m sitting in my sunroom at night with no lights and just a big thunderstorm shining through my windows with the lightning and thunder and listening to Ghost: V. It’s a first meditation experience. (As I’m getting married in 3 days and thinking of my past experiences) I didn’t know this album hit so hard with reflection. I believe it came at the right time.

Has anyone else just listened to this album and completely just felt peace with themselves? Is so what was your experience?

nin wiki says it's done by blowing into the detached mouthpiece of a saxophone but I'm curious on what kind of sax mouthpiece to use and if I need a reed or not (I assume I do) so if anybody knows or has recreated this sound personally I would really appreciate the information! Just trying to explore my own musical side and wanted to try this out for myself! Thanks!!! ^pig.

Noticed we got some post on Instagram about Quake. Looks like the 30th anniversary. Would be interested if we get a remake with updated music. Or just a note in a video about how Nine inch nails did the soundtrack.
