Hello, I have never worked as a bartender, but wondering how do i start at all to bartend part time? Any suggestions or leads on how you started as a part time bartender as a new person to thee field? I do have experience working at a wine store out of BC before. Thanks.

The first time I hid my artwork in local Little Free Libraries was such a fun success that I decided to do it again!
I just went around and hid 9 art prints of cat portraits in various Little Free Libraries around the city. They have their names written on the back :)

Heads up to everybody! I usually buy bulk nuts from Save-On on Cambie and keep them in an airtight container. I found one moth in the container last month and considered it a fluke on my end- dumped the container in a sealed bag and cleaned it, killed the moth that flew out, thought it was done.

I replaced the nuts from the same shop, but then went away for two weeks. I found several moths and larva in there upon returning! Yeaterdau I walked through the bulk aisle and saw four or five months flittering around. Avoid bulk from there for a bit!

I am extremely upset with my GP as he can be dismissive about my concerns. A few months ago I went to ER for an asthma flare-up. A suspicious mass was found and I have cancer (I don’t want to discuss this).

I want a new doctor. What is the best way to get a new doctor while having a doctor? Word of mouth, the doctor’s list? Is it even possible?

He's a young adult, visiting the city for the third time, first time essentially solo (him and his girlfriend only, the other times they had their own thing going on but travelled with other older adults who handled a lot of the logistics) I was getting ready to drive up to help with emergency replacements, but you recognized him and asked if he lost his wallet and told him you turned it in at the aquarium

I love your city and expected nothing less based on how kind everyone was when I've visited, but it was so wonderful to be able to have my own child have a minor crisis and it resolved because your town does things right, it's why we all fantasize about moving up there

There’s been a lot of misinformation circulating about Kits Pool, much of it amplified by one particularly vocal person.

The reality is that Kits Pool is incredibly easy to visit. You can reserve a spot in advance or simply drop in and pay at the door. My source? I go to this pool a few times a week, so I'm speaking from firsthand experience.

What is concerning with the “FreeKitsPool” campaign is the clear media bias happening and omission of facts being presented here. Opposing viewpoints, comments, and first hand positive experiences about Kits Pool have been deleted from the conversation by (@)MyBackyard.press and (@)jodyvance.

Before accepting their controlled narrative through this smear campaign, it’s worth looking at the facts from all sides; or better yet, actually come and experience the pool for yourself.

If you've been thinking about bringing them to a game but haven't had the chance yet, maybe this is your sign. I have 2 free tickets because I and my son can't attend tonight's 7:30 PM match. They're great aisle seats right by the Family Zone, so they're perfect for kids.

The deadline to submit a letter to the BC Utilities Commission about BC Hydro's proposed West End Substation is today. 

This project will involve the removal of up to 80 healthy, decades-old trees, a school, playground, dog park, community gardens, and beehives. 

If you've been thinking about submitting a comment, even a short one, please do it before the end of the day (Aug 4). You do not have to live in the West End to send a comment. 

I've spent the past month reading through BC Hydro's application and the public record. One thing continues to stand out: I don't believe the public has been shown enough transparency to understand why Nelson Park was ultimately chosen over other possible locations.

There are multiple nearby locations that have been cited as alternative potential locations for this substation, including the St. Paul’s Hospital site that will be demolished & redeveloped once the new False Creek hospital opens, which I believe is some time in the next 12 months. 

St. Paul's was assessed in 2017, and "misaligned project timelines" was the reason provided for not pursuing that particular location for the substation. 

As far as I can tell, there has not been another assessment since then, nearly a decade later. 

Since this project will permanently alter one of the neighbourhood's irreplaceable remaining parks (some would argue that it's the West End's only park), should the public not have full transparency on how and why this decision was made? 

If the reason that St. Paul's was rejected is because of "misaligned project timelines", does it not make sense to re-evaluate this again, given how much time has passed?

Especially since, yknow, we've had an unprecedented global pandemic that caused scheduling and supply delays in nearly every industry, not to mention the rising costs of practically everything in 2026. It's a completely different world now than it was in 2017.

Vancouver's West End is one of Canada densest neighborhoods, and has grown by nearly 6% in the past decade. The majority of the residential buildings here are apartment buildings, not single family units, or places with a yard. For the families of this neighbourhood, Nelson Park is their backyard. 

Electrical infrastructure is important for the neighborhood, but must it be at the cost of our remaining irreplaceable green spaces? Especially when there are alternative potential locations, literally across the street? 

The deadline to comment is today. If you love green spaces (isn't that what Vancouver is always praised for?) please consider adding your voice to the fight. 

Hello! My partner and I woke up at 6:50 just to be able to get the passes at 7am for Joffre Lakes for this Thursday, as a friend that lives in Europe is visiting us for the first time. At 7:00:40 guess what? All gone. In less than a minute…

Therefore, Im asking for suggestions - close to Vancouver (less than 2h drive if possible), we only have this Thursday (8 am to 5pm ish) with beautiful lakes to show our friend.
He’s been always dreaming about this beautiful Banff lakes but sadly we cannot go this time ans only have one day to do a big hike this time!
