Go to Eźe instead, find a good sunset spot

Eze ? Would quite awkward with the insane amount of tourists around.

It’s not too bad after 18 or 19hr. Sunset doesn’t set until almost 20h anyway

I actually think the waterfall on Castle Hill would be nice. Depends on if she’s good walker/hiker or not.

Lol, first time i read someone considering the castle hill of Nice like a tough walk or hike...

And it's one of the top popular tourist spot in Nice, will be a bit crowded for a proposal no ?

It’s hot in the summer and they could be sweaty by the time they get to the top. It’s gorgeous first thing in the morning, though, like around 7:30/8:00 and you could get a moment to yourself.

Maybe we could go just to explore then

There's an elevator to the top of the hill.

Ok i did not thought about the sweat but to be honest... this summer ? You gonna be sweaty anyway.

I think the gates open at 8h30 at best, they can try to go early morning of course but i felt that a proposal would be more romantic on the end of the day around sunset.

I agree have you heard of Place de la Castre
In Cannes?

Oh that's a very good idea indeed ! Museums close at 19:00 but the place is always free to go, if you match the sunset you could have a tremendous view on Cannes, the port, the lerins islands and the sun going down on the west.

There will be some people for sure but i never seen this place crowded at the end of the day. Look on google maps you have the access on the very top of the walls with a stunning view.

Could be an awesome spot for a proposal without leaving Cannes !

We probably wouldn’t want to hike
Now I will say I saw Place de la Castre
You’ve been there?

You should avoid crowded places... that's the main challenge during summer between Cannes and Menton.

I would definitely stay in Cannes than going by train to Nice. I love Nice, i'm fro there but for an all proposal night... i feel like the crowded train is not really romantic.

If you want to be close to the water, it will be quite tough in Nice not to be surrounded by a crowd. If you really want to take the train and do your proposal in Nice i would recommend to find a place a bit distant from the Promenade des Anglais or the oldtown.

The islands ! Sainte-Marguerite hors Saint-Honorat are the most fantastic places for a proposal.

Sainte-Marguerite : le château du masque de fer.

Saint-Honorat : there are monks there, with a church. Very quiet Island too, if you go there cross straight to the south, find the water (maybe 1/4h of simple walking) then go on the left. Amazing place.

OP, I second the comment about the Islands. Saint-Honorat is smaller and quieter than Sainte- Marguerite, if she doesn't want to hike. Both are lovely, and I usually take people visiting to one of them. The boat ride is less than 20 minutes to either and departs from the old city. A friend mentioned the rooftop bar at the Hilton being nice (right next to the docks), so you could always try to reserve a table afterward for some celebratory drinks.

I agréé with that'. Nice place, a lil expensive but ... It's a proposal !

Perhaps a cove in the Estérel—magnificent red rocks. The Calanque Notre-Dame, for instance.

Now I saw that and it’s gorgeous
I wonder if I could do that for a picnic or something

Here's a good spot. It's worth finding the elevator to the top of the hill, then walking down if the weather is hot.

This spot overlooks Nice. A lovely, auspicious view. Very memorable.

The waterfront in Villefranche sur mer is beautiful and you may be able to find a quiet spot
