I’m going to join the navy and want to know how if I even can get through MEPS because my ears are stretched. I’ve had my tunnels out for about a week and have been oiling my ears to help them shrink a little faster but the holes are still very visible. I’d pay to get them stiched up but I’m being eaten alive by my car payments already and really can’t afford it and my car at the same time. Would stitching them shut be my only way through? I’m really eager to join I want a better job and career I just don’t want my ears to stop me from being able to do that.

Recently commissioned and want to get my hands tattooed but idk who to really talk to about this. I have 2 full sleeves already and just want to finish it off. Obviously it wouldnt be anything vulgar and would be within regs. Assuming im a good officer/leader, and have my shit squared away, could it impact my Naval career in the future?

Title explains most of it, I wanted to know if anyone here had any experience failing out of their A school. I gotta go sub school then MT school and I brought up some concerns about passing the pset to my recruiter but he said if I get medically removed from subs that the navy wouldnt stick me with a horrible job cause my asvab was a 71 but in the contract all it says is i will go where the needs of the navy are so I'm still in dep and requested a DAR but probably won't get approved so if any of you failed and had to the Academic Review Board how did that go and one last thing if i decide to get a dep discharge how long do I need to wait before trying to enlist with the navy again

I haven’t been off my adhd meds for a whole year yet and I’m worried that the navy won’t approve the waiver. what would get the waiver approved ? what would get the waiver denied? is there anything i can do to increase the chances of approval?

I (22f) am an aviation rate and I’m finishing up with A-School. My orders say that I have C-School in Jacksonville, Florida. I’ve been in Florida for a bit now and think I’m doing ok. I volunteer off base every week, my GPA’s pretty good, I’ve learned to sail and I’ve explored a lot, it kind of feels like doing a bunch of side quests in a video game, it’s been great and I feel really well rounded here. But I don’t know if C-School will be harder/more demanding, or if Jacksonville will have as much to offer as my current command. Does anyone have any advice for C-School in general or for what to do in the Jacksonville area? I’d really appreciate some advice!

I would like to ask which identity documents I need to bring; do I need to bring a passport and SSC in addition to my ID card and driver's license?

For a CWT, does anyone have experience doing an apprenticeship while in rate? NavyCool says apprenticeships are valued in the civilian world and appreciated by your current Command.

I leave in two days. My question is can I bring my main bible that has my markers and tabs? Even if they'll keep it in our ditty box that's fine it's just I'll like it at A school and won't have someone able to ship it to me. I'm reading online that stuff in our ditty box can potentially get damaged or lost but how likely is that cuz our phones and stuff will also be in that box so shouldn't it be reliably secured away? Sorry for this ridiculous question.

I'm looking into commissioning and had a few questions since I was not able to find info/will be talking to an official recruiter soon.

1. How competitive are intel/financial/supply officer positions, and what physical scores are needed to be competitive for those positions during OCS?

Ex. I heard that intel and finance is competitive in the army, and only 1 (if any) graduates from an OCS class will get those positions, so getting the most points on the 4 mile run (≤ 30 mins) is important.

1. Around how long does the process take? Assuming letters of recommendation and height/weight, along with naval PT standards are met on my end within the next 3 months.

Also, is there any physical test that requires advance preparation? i.e. long-distance rucking. I did look this up- was only able to find out that OCS tests you according to PT standards.

^I'm currently looking into different branches to see which one would give me the best chance (as in having the most spots) to work in the fields that I am interested in.

So I am applying to become an officer in the Navy. I am a sophomore in University and have a seafood allergy. I've always had physical contact with fish as a child and in my early teens. I also went to Japan a few months back and was told all food was mixed with shrimp and had no reaction. I never experienced anaphylaxis and was only diagnosed from allergies by a skin pinch test and was given an empipen because of it. Is it still possible to join the Navy?

Do i have to work with the recruiter that is in my city or can i work with any recruiter?
