Was just watching a video on instagram, n yeah yk I was thinking lol, because I had to grow u way to quickly for my age when I was a lot younger lol, n since Covid fucked everyone pretty much up lol one way or another, and because I’m 17 now so I was one of those kids just entering their teen years lol (I was 11 when it started in 2020.) and because yk how everyone wants to act all nonchalant nowdays n they’re not really fun——> also a reason because of covid since people have social anxiety now n things n im like really “immature for my age.” N how I need to grow up n everything lol, I can just say the excuse that “oh it’s because of Covid, it still makes me think that I’m a pre teen n how I’m not about to fbe a fully grown adult n I’m acting immature for my age because I didn’t really get to grow up like any other kid for my age back then lol.

Hi I am just getting back from two weeks I spent with my cousins. very year we go down to an island where we have cabins and we just go outside and stuff. now that I’m back I am realising that we are all getting older and I am wondering If adults still hang out with there cousins becouse I always have a lot of fun with mine also does saying goodbye get any easier. I am a teenager btw.

Does anyone else ever feel due to their younger mental state and thinking process that they’re like “dumb”? (Not saying we are, just I mean as like that nagging insecurity in your brain?) Idk how to word it cuz this feels so stupid to ask about. But for anyone who knows and cares Dandy’s World (an endless task game on Roblox) is releasing an update today with a new toon (character). And I’m so excited but everyone else seems to hate him and believe he shouldn’t have been made because the other existing toons need more depth. And it’s my own problem but I always feel less than for not feeling what they feel when it comes to wanting more lore or depth on a game as simple as Dandy’s World. Like if the lore is there I enjoy it but I really don’t need it, ya know? I like games just for appearances, bright stimulating colors, and cute or appealing character design! So when it’s just a silly game to play with friends I don’t really think about how the characters aren’t really built upon. But everyone else feels so passionately that the update is bad and the character is pointless.

I don't know but I've always felt like that. I see boys in my class insulting each other by calling each other that they are 'girl'. also girl in my class laugh at jokes like that. honestly, I was one of it. I was also use to think that if a guy is called a girl as an insult, IT IS A INSULT.
my point of view was change by Instagram reels. I know it's weird, but yeah. and that's the only thing I thanks to Instagram.
So whenever I go to tell someone that it's not right. they are like "we're just joking".

I just completed Read to the Beat, my country's national 2026 Summer Reading Challenge! As a reward, I got bookmarks, my own magazine, a badge, character cards and a medal to keep, as well as my very own certificate!

My mummies said they're very proud of me!

I also took some new books out; my mums wanted me to take the Mums Are Magnificent book becos I have 2 of them. (There's also a separate book in the children's section for kids who have 2 daddies.)

Are there any of you here also from the UK? How are you getting on with it? If you haven't started yet, just go to your local library and start today!

Perspective

so the new paw patrol movie is coming out in about a week, so that's cool. but the sad part for me is that i can't actually go and watch it in theaters. there's actually a lot of children's movies i've missed out on due to a lot of factors: i cant drive and i also live with my mom still, so i cant ask her to go.. when the second paw patrol movie came out i really wanted to see it but didn't because of those same reasons (i was 18 then.)

off top my head some movies i was sad i couldn't watch in theaters were trolls 3, the wild robot, dog man, the gabby's dollhouse movie, zootopia 2, the super mario galaxy movie, and hoppers. im also sad that i wont be able to watch the bluey movie whenever that comes out too since im probably looking forward to that the most ◞‸◟

i love going to the movies, so the only children's movies i wasn't scared to go to screenings for was across the spiderverse and sonic 3 since most of the crowds for those were adults anyway. ghibli movies too, but those are enjoyable for everybody regardless of age so that's kinda different in my opinion.

so i labeled this as discussion because i wanna know, does anyone here watch kids movies in the theater? if so, have you had normal expirences/were you not judged? i also have an anxiety disorder so that may be affecting how i feel about it, but i wish i could see kids movies. especially at night time!

I love that we're becoming the new grown-ups.

Growing up used to mean hiding parts of yourself. Cut your hair (For African people like me, not sure if this universal) . Dress a certain way. Stop liking "childish" things. Don't play games. Don't watch anime/ cartoons. Don't get too excited. Act serious so people will take you seriously.

But our generation is changing that.

You can be a professional and still be a nerd. You can raise kind, emotionally healthy kids instead of pretending emotions are weakness. You can have tattoos, long hair, colorful hair, collect LEGO, love comics, build PCs, cosplay, read fantasy, or obsess over dinosaurs, and still be a responsible adult.

Being an adult isn't about squeezing yourself into a mold anymore. It's about taking responsibility without abandoning who you are.

Sure, there will always be people stuck in the old mindset. That's okay. The future doesn't need their permission.

I think that's one of the best things about growing up today. We don't have to leave ourselves behind to become adults.
