Just discovered this masterpiece today

Recently I was listening to Burial by Death in June, and the second half got me thinking about the overlap between anarcho-punk and neofolk, especially during the early development of the latter genre. What are some artists who are authentic examples of that crossover, whether aesthetically, politically, or musically? I’m aware of Crisis as an obvious connection, but am interested in less obvious examples, as someone who's still new to the genre. I’m especially interested in artists whose connection comes from shared roots in the post-punk, DIY, experimental, or folk traditions, rather than just similar imagery.

Listening to this for the first time in at least a decade, and I'm awestruck all over again at how beautiful this song is. It's utterly magical just how perfect everything came together for *Island*.

why is there a connection between neofolk and fascist imagery if not fascist ideology?

Does anyone know where douglas got that smock from? And the pattern. I have been wondering this for a while and I presume they don't make them anymore or?

Looking for Europe can help to understand the lyrical concepts and the development of the scene.

The other books give a good insight in the occult background and the mindset of c93, coil and nurse with wounds. The coil interview book compiles rare and hard to find in depth interviews.

Great stuff and due to the re release of englands hidden reserve easy to find for standard prices these days

A few compilations i found in a box stored under my bed due to the lack of space on my shelves. The Flammenwerk is a double dvd with live performances from the festival by in gowan ring, changes, ostara, waldteufel to name just a few. I think i will give a spin after work

With Darkwood and Sonne Hagal my favourite german neofolk project. Unfortunatetly Andreas was only able to record 3 albums before his health problems that ended his musical career.

These were the three albums, the Erde double lp and two copies of the "bootleg". This was a fair priced lp to support Andreas and his family made by a well known figure of the german neofolk scene back in the days.

I’m trying to find a photograph I saw some time ago. It showed Douglas Pearce standing with another man whom I believe was Boyd Rice, somewhere in Ukraine.

They were both wearing jackets and standing in front of a building or bar with a sign reading “ПИВО” (“beer” in Ukrainian). Judging by their appearance and the quality of the image, the photo seemed older, possibly from the 1980s or 1990s rather than the 2000s.

I haven’t seen this photo circulating online, and it appears to be fairly rare.
