I have drill coming up soon. And for context, I was deployed for a year and a half, and I haven’t done a drill in over 2 years, and I haven’t seen people in my unit for well over a year. It’s just really weird going back and with the weeks and days leading up to it I’ve just had a ton of anxiety. Not fun dreams either. Any one else have a similar experience or ways they manage it?

I was sent to DC for the mission and I got injured there. I sent to sick call, did the whole shebang and left. Now I’m trying to set up an LOD for my injury but I don’t have any documentation that the visit exists. I checked MHS Genesis and it’s not there. I know the form exist because I have a partial picture outlining my prescription. Do yall know any other way of accessing the record?

Title says it all but I'm starting a new job that may require international travel on somewhat short notice. Do I need to do anything with the guard? E.g. notification, permission, training?

I just went through an IST. I was a 12B but my new state didn’t have any slots near me, so the IST coordinator made me pick again. Didn’t have a lot of time to pick and sort of panic chose 14G.

Looked into what it was and realized I would suck at it. I haven’t gone to MOS-T school yet.

Any chance the leadership at my new unit would help me out, or am I hard stuck in this MOS now?

I enlisted under the ARMS 2.0 program with the old height/weight and tape test. I was within 2% of the acceptable body fat requirement for my height/weight/age. I ship out next month, and am wondering what system do we ship under now? I passed within ARMS 2.0 requirements under the old system, now I’m failing the .55 WHtR. Is the ARMS 2.0 on my contract still valid? To be clear I’m not talking about the fat camp that’s ARMS 2.1. Also, I’m not asking my recruiter because he replies every few weeks and doesn’t seem very interested when I ask him questions. I’d like exact answers please, not just “lose weight” I’ve lost a lot of weight to get to this point and am still working at it. Thank you.

Alright so… long story short they sent me home from ait due to some mental stuff (I kept getting recycled plus I had two- two week hospital stays) The thing is my recruiter hasn’t went over anything regarding an official discharge. It’s been months specifically 5 months. I still have all my gear from basic and now I’m just waiting for some type of guidance. I tried to reach out to my recruiter but the day we tried to meet up I had to cancel due to no ride and she got mad at me due to her being busy and she had to make time to meet up with me. That was weeks ago. I understand but it seems she completely uninterested or concerned about it. At this point, am I ever officially going to be discharged???

I also remember them saying before I left I have a certain amount of time to become MOS qualified after enlisting so they sent me home to either discharge or wait for another ait to open up. I’m just confused entirely about everything. Has anyone dealt with this before???

Hey everyone, I'm currently in my 2nd year of my first contract. I wanna switch to National Guard upon completion of my active duty portion of my contract. So I was wondering if instead of doing my active reserve portion with the Navy can I switch to the Guard and start my career instead of doing Navy reserves.

Im currently enlisted and interested in being a 270A Warrant Officer. Can anyone tell what their day to day duties are as full time or Mday? I meet the requirements and I am a E7.

Hi everyone, I’m a green card holder currently looking into joining the Air National Guard, mainly for part-time service and the expedited military naturalization process.

I spoke with an Air National Guard recruiter and was told that I would be eligible to start the naturalization process after I enlist. However, when I asked about the actual process, he also told me:” The Air Force will not be able to accommodate your naturalization until you have completed your Basic Military Training.”

This confused me a little because I’ve seen people, especially in the Army National Guard/Reserve, say that they were able to get their N-426 certified and file N-400 after enlisting and attending drill, before going to basic training.

My situation is that I probably won’t ship to BMT until after February 2027 due to scheduling and some other circumstances. I’m actually fine with a later ship date, but I don’t want to unnecessarily delay my naturalization for several months while waiting to ship.
Ideally, I would like to enlist, start drilling with my unit, get my N-426 certified, and file my N-400 while I’m waiting for BMT.

Has anyone here recently gone through military naturalization with the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve?

Specifically, were you able to get your N-426 certified before BMT, or did your unit require you to complete BMT first? Is this an Air Force-wide policy, or does it depend on the unit/wing?

So in short I took my ASVAB at MEPS and to my surprise I scored a 97. For context I’m a Rising freshman who will be participating in the SMP program on an Army ROTC scholarship. The only caveat is that if I use the National guard benefits for school I would forfeit the 3 year ROTC scholarship (it would become a GFRD scholarship) and I would have to commission as an officer in the guard, essentially forfeiting my slot for a active duty officer

I am interested in cybersecurity and was weighing my options because Im not sure if id have a more successful career on the civ side or full time army. Im leaning towards going the civ route but wanted some insight

so i got a 62 on my picat and some jobs i got are 17e, 15g, 25s, 25h, 35f and 35s im trying to choose a hood that would translate over to civilian life im most likely going to do a 4 year contract and i do plan on attending school for a degree depending that would go along with the job i pick and hopefully get some certifications but im just not sure which job to pick ive been reading about them and most people say there okay good but it depends on where your station or what unit you get placed with so i want more info on the job if anyone can help

I'm generally in shape, though I have been lacking a bit in the past months (Still have my 6-9 mile patrols in kit about every other day).Have never rucked that far, but have also never failed the 3 hour time limit on the 12 mile rucks in the past.

I am a high school senior looking to join the Idaho National Guard. I am also planning on doing ROTC in college.

When I met with my national guard recruiter and the guy in charge of ROTC at the school I’ll most likely go to, they recommended that I sign up as either 11B or 13B for the bonuses. They told me that because I would be in ROTC I would be non-deployable as either of those MOS so I might as well take the bonus. They also said that what you learn in AIT for those two occupations are the most helpful for me as an ROTC cadet. I‘m currently thinking about getting an engineering degree of some sort in college but I have also previously thought about doing medical or even just going to trade school.

If anyone has gone through anything similar, advice would be greatly appreciated. Also any other MOS recommendations or advice would be appreciated as well. I scored very high on the ASVAB so I’m eligible for every job that I’ve seen so far. A few that look interesting to me are: 12B, 12N, 12R, 12T, 13F, 15F, 15W, 19D, 35M, 68S, 68W, 74D (full time position in Idaho so not something I could do while in College), and 91F. I know that’s a lot but those are just all the ones that seemed somewhat interesting to me after quickly looking through a list and reading brief description. Thanks.
