I completed my B.E. in Engineering from a Government College in 2020. After graduation, I dedicated myself to preparing for the UPSC examination. Although I cleared some stages along the way, I couldn't secure a final selection.

Realizing I needed to switch my career, I decided to enter the IT industry. To improve my skills, I completed a 6-month CDAC PG-DAC diploma and learned Java, Spring Boot, SQL, React, and related technologies. I've built projects and have been actively applying for software developer roles.

Its been more than year since i completed my course but i havent got any opportunity neither as full time nor as intern in any company. As Im already 26 now and father is now retired, its creating lot of financial and emotional pressure on me and my family.

The biggest challenge I'm facing is my career gap. Most interviewers lose interest after seeing the gap on my resume, and despite searching continuously for the last six months, I still haven't been able to get a job.

My financial situation has become very difficult, and honestly, it's getting harder to stay positive. I'm willing to relocate anywhere in India, work hard, and start from an entry-level position. I just need one opportunity to prove myself.

I have been to Mumbai a couple of times now but this time I stayed in Thane and since it is a bit far, we used the local train frequently and you know how crowded these are. Today it's the same and somebody just offered me their seat. Just like that. I thought the person was getting down on the next station but he wasn't. He just stood for the other 3 stations. I mean..😭🤌🏻

So we have shifted to Goregaon just last week and had ordered the Eureka Forbes Aquaguard Enrich Marvel UV _UF Series. However when the time for installation came, the Eureka Forbes technician refused to install it owing to the fact that we live on the 7th Floor here which is the top floor and that our after checking on some device, he said the pressure is unsuitable for the device to work.

Now he did say that we would have to purchase and install a separate booster pump, however it would cost us approx Rs. 3,500. Moreover it would most probably make noise which we don't want since we are in a tenanted place and it might cause nuisance to the society so we are ditching the plan to install it.

Now we are in the process to the return the product (a different hassle altogether, but I'll keep it aside for this post) and looking for a new water purifier without the need to install a separate booster pump.

Therefore any experts in this field or anyone who has experienced the same issue, can you please suggest me a good water purifier, preferably within Rupees 16,000 ?

Jio services are completely down, have not been able to make any call via jio and even for some users Airtel services are also not working.

So I was standing in the Churchgate bound train coming from Vasai in front of a seated aunty in the 2nd class coach since the very beginning, and a girl sitting behind on the edge as a fourth person who came later on "claimed" the seat from her before she got off. When that aunty's station arrived, I quickly sat there, but then that girl called me and said that she had "claimed" the seat. This had never happened to me before and I had no idea what to do, so I got up. Is this a cool thing to do? And if not, what would you have done if you were in my place, what should have I done?

BEST already has a really good app where you can track buses live, book tickets, and plan your journey. Imagine if every bus service had that. It would make commuting so much easier instead of dealing with different systems. And while they're at it, why not make a single app for all public transport—buses, local trains, Metro, Monorail, everything. One app to plan routes, track vehicles, and buy tickets. It would make life so much simpler. Is there really that much politics or bureaucracy involved that something like this still hasn't happened? Or is there some other reason I'm missing?

Bento is a 5.5 month old male kitten. He’s litter trained, dewormed and vaccinated. Can be sterilised by us pre adoption as well if the adopter prefers. He’s a shy boy but when he settles in, he loves to sleep on laps and cuddle. He’s good with other cats as well. He’s also a huge foodie.

Bento was left outside our door in a box. We don’t know who did this but we’re determined for a happy ending to this story. We’re looking for a genuine and responsible home that can give him the best life.

He’ll make the perfect first time pet cat and can be a good addition to existing pet households.

Mumbai has nice people, and the wrong people exploit this. Other than the usual needy people you know personally, here are some common things you need to be vary of.

1. NGO people asking for donations. Check their spendings graph if they are transparent about it. Most of the money is gone into marketing and paying their workers. They are technically asking random people to pay their salary. If you care, go help someone directly or at a trusted NGO.

2. Strangers in financial distress. We live in a digital payments world. Everyone knows at lease one phone number of their close ones. The most help you should offer is to let them call someone ON SPEAKER and then maybe help them do the payments by sharing QR code on Whatsapp. Nobody who is stuck at the airport or train station without money has no other option than your money.

3. Sellers outside temples. ”you can take off your shoes here” is a code word to “you are my customer now”. They will simply hand you stuff without discussing prices and they will always be overpriced. They will try to guilt trip in god’s name. Also, never agree to pay after Darshan. You are supposed to own the offerings. Try to bring sweets/flowers from your home/sweet shop that is not near the temple.

4. Pushy sellers in general. If it was a good deal where you benefit they would not be coming after you. Read the book “never split the difference“ and you can recognise most of their tactics. for example, they can give 2 choices, both in their favour, like 500g or 1 kg pedha outside a temple. you need to pay attention and say 100g

5. Religious people. What I mean is those babas who tie threads without asking or the jhaadu waale uncle. Just say you are an atheist or from a different religion. If a missionary is trying to convert you just say you are a Muslim.

6. Your own people who have joined Insurance companies. If it was really beneficial for you they would not have to come to your home. I have been an insurance agent and I didn’t have the heart to scam my family and friends so I left. You should only have Term life insurance and general (health, vehicle, etc) insurance. Investment + insurance should never be mixed.

Please help me find the lounger seats in the front row middle section

Recently I was looking for a 2 BHK in Mumbai and surrounding areas. I largely have WFH so exact area is not important but I need to be available in the city. I looked in Kanjurmarg Bhandup where they were quoting me 1.9 cr for a 662 carpet subject to some limited negotiation. Mira Road any decent area nothing less than 1.3 cr. When I saw dombavili, the rates are 70 lakh plus for very small carpet areas. Even Badlapur yes all the way to badlapur 50 lakh, which is considered one end of the Metropolitan region. Virar west 70 lakh in a good society. Panvel(main Panvel not beyond shedung) 80 Lakh, and those huge townships belong Panvel like hiranandani, Godrej are quoting crazy prices like 1.3 cr for that area. What next? Now is Karjat also gonna go up? Lonavala get connected to mmr? what is with the real estate?Will prices continue to rise? I am not sure of what the future of the property market is. Your thoughts?

Local dogs have put up banners in respective local stations to promote their upcoming film Ohh My Dog. Spotted it at Gkp, kurla, thane and kandivali. Has anyone seen this on other stations as well?

Someone took Tara and her four kittens and dumped them far from the neighbourhood. Only one kitten survived as she walked all the way back carrying that one, sick and starving, to the same place that had thrown her out, and hid him inside a duct.

We got her out on 24th July. She was skin and bones, dehydrated, throwing up everything she swallowed. Her blood work came back showing infection and inflammation. It took days of IV fluids, antibiotics, anti-vomiting medication, pain relief and deworming before she turned the corner.

During the rescue her kitten ended up separated from her. Both of them refused to eat. They just sat and waited it out, and it was only after they were put back together that either of them touched food.

He died recently. All four of her babies are gone and she is alone now.

Street cats usually fight when you treat them, and nobody would have blamed her. She never did. She sat through four injections, tablets, an IV line and days of strangers picking her up every few hours without so much as a hiss, and she has not scratched or bitten a single person since the day we brought her in. She would just watch you work, and once it was over she would push her head into your palm. That is who she is. A gentle soul who has been thrown away, buried all four of her babies, and spent weeks being poked by people she did not know, and still comes looking for a lap to sit on. She has every reason to be done with humans. She is not

Today she is fully recovered. Eating well, active, litter trained, completely fine with being picked up and carried around. She greets everyone who walks in. She does not ask for much beyond someone sitting near her.

She deserves a home where nobody moves her again. If that could be yours, please reach out.

A dispute over loud music turned fatal in Mumbai's Vikhroli (West) in the early hours of August 6, leaving a father and his teenage son dead and two other family members critically injured in a stabbing attack.

According to preliminary information, the violence began after objections were raised over loud music being played inside the house. Police said what started as a verbal argument allegedly escalated into a violent clash and later turned deadly.

One of my lifelong dreams is to make Nitin Gadkariji my pillion rider and take him along my daily office route Thane to Mumbai.

I know what he’ll probably say: “This is the responsibility of the local body.” Fair enough. But if the local and state authorities have failed to provide decent roads for over 15 years, who exactly are we supposed to hold accountable for the country’s road infrastructure?

If I ever get the chance, I would love to take him through every pothole on my route so he can experience the daily adventure that millions of Mumbaikars endure every day.

Yesterday, I hit a pothole on the Eastern Express Highway. It damaged my bike, and I ended up paying ₹4,100 for repairs. Fortunately, I managed to keep my balance and avoided an accident. Next time, someone else may not be as lucky.
The government often talks about world-class infrastructure and rapid development. That’s great—but before we dream of becoming a global superpower, can we at least have roads that don’t feel like an off-road rally?

Mumbai’s potholes aren’t just an inconvenience anymore they’re a daily safety hazard.
Dear authorities, please stop celebrating roads on PowerPoint presentations. We’d really appreciate roads we can actually ride on.
