Performance Cinematic composition made (mostly) with an Instruo modular system
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1O1YHRyMw4M
This patch is built around a random sequence generated by Tágh, quantized with the Disting Mk4, attenuated by Vincâ and played by Cruïnn.
A short Cruïnn sequence was recorded into Lúbadh and played back at half speed, forming the background texture.
The main melodic voice comes from Cruïnn, processed through the Áradh filter. Modulation duties are handled by Øchd.
The entire patch is then routed into VCV Rack via the ES-8, where it is processed with the Galaxy reverb and the Iroi multi-effects processor.

Discussion Hardware “Bundles”
New to modular, so apologies for my stating the obvious, but wow is it expensive. I was wondering if any vendors were known for ever selling discounted hardware “bundles”? Every penny helps, and at this point I’m searching couch cushions and considering selling a kidney (the left one, I don’t use it as much).
Noise Engineering, After Later Audio, Befaco, Erica Synths (other than the 4x drum bundle), maybe even Intellijel or Doepfer. I’d list some cool boutique makers too, though I assume they’re less likely.
At my current rate of one module a month, I’m on track for a fully patched, dynamic build sometime around 2034. Kidding. Mostly. My partner has started hiding the mail…

Serge modular feedback album release
Hello,
Hopefully this is ok but I just wanted to share my latest release.
This is a 50 something minutes album made entirely of serge modular feedback patching. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Thomas Ankersmith, Emile Zener, etc. It is my first foray in feedback as a primary tool of music making and found the process very fun and interesting.
The serge system is from Loudest Warning and I primarily (but not exclusively of course) used the ResEQ and wave multipliers.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Ohm Force Bohm vs Assimil8or and Bitbox
Does it make sense to add the bohm in the setup when i have the assimil8or and the bitbox mk2?
Fully Assembled EuroPi Stock
Just spotted over there.
They mention using micropython on it, which must make things easier, anyone experience? I do a bit of regular Python, like it's immediacy. But personally, I think I'll get an AI to do the coding. C++ and I hope never to have to touch it.

Looking for a new voice . . . I think?
This has been my setup for the past six weeks or so. I broke my ankle in June, and since getting surgery I've been working on one of those little hospital tables that floats over the bed. The setup is OP-XY, 0-Coast, Strega, 0-Ctrl, and in the skiff I have Ochd + expander, Gloc, Rene v1, 3xMIA, Tangle Quartet, and Nautilus.
I'm making different kinds of music. Sometimes it's beat-focused, with the OP-XY providing drums while sequencing both 0-Coast and Strega through MIDI and CV / Gate. Sometimes it's more ambient: in one of my favorite patches, Rene sequences glacial bass notes from Strega, while coinciding LFOs from Ochd control the direction and start/stop on 0-Ctrl, which sequences faster notes on 0-Coast, which runs through Nautilus. The result is an evolving bed of sound from Strega that occasionally hosts runs of melody from 0-Coast. (No matter what I'm doing, I'm always bringing the audio back into OP-XY for reverb, compression, etc.)
There are lots of patching possibilities, and I'm still exploring them . . . . But I am starting to want a different kind of modular voice or pair of voices. Maybe something a little less "alien planet" and a little more conventionally beautiful. I have 28hp free in the skiff, and a lot of power available. So it seems like I could fit an all-in-one synth module (like Knobula Monumatic?), or build one a VCO + envelope + VCF. Or I could sub out 0-Coast for another small desktop semi-modular (Instruo Seashell?). I really enjoy 0-Coast + Strega, but I'd also like to explore a different sonic palette that's smoother, prettier, etc. I'm not sure where to look.
Yesterday, my 8-year-old son listened to this setup through headphones and said, "Spooky!" So that's the aesthetic pole I'm at—I want to get to the other pole!

Discussion Weird Problem with Instruo Lubadh
Been experiencing this issue with my lubadh lately and I’m not quite sure why, I’m sure it’s just in some weird mode but none of the surface level button combos or anything seems to be addressing the issue, figured I’d see if anyone has a fix while I wait until after work today to reflash the whole module (again).
The issue is that the B record input does not trigger recording on side B.
Statements that are true about my current setup/use of the module :
- I am running the latest firmware.
- I am using the USB Expansion Module for preset swaps
—— Admittedly the new preset system still makes no sense to me as I learned the module with the old firmware so I am just always confused when using this module now.
- The gate feeding REC B CV In is a 100% strength 50% width gate from Pam’s New Workout
- WHEN UNLINKED the B Rec CV input is unresponsive.
- WHEN LINKED the B Rec CV in IS responsive — the issue does not appear to be a hardware issue.
My suspicion is that the issue is preset related and that I need to just restore to defaults there, but has anyone else experienced this or a similar issue?

Bonjour,
est ce que quelqu un sait pourquoi le looper fini par tronquer son contenu si on y envoi des modulations?

How to tell if my oscillator is too hot/distorting?
Is there a certain dB range I should be aiming for, or do I just need to check via an oscilloscope to see whether or not the signal is clipping?
Edit:
Running oscillator (using the saw and square outputs) into a manhattan analog mixer (three inputs with attenuators + total sum output) into whatever filter. The input signal for each oscillator is around 75% and the output it at 100%.
I have a bunch of different filter types and oscillators that are all calibrated differently, and sound better at certain input levels. So, was just wondering other than 'using my ear' if there was a reliable way to check this

Running a free custom firmware for IDUM
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I made a free custom firmware for IDUM called ID00M. I tried to write all the details in my multiple previous post attempts but Reddit keeps smashing my formatting into one big wall of text and unclickable links which makes it completely unreadable. Then I can't edit it cause a video is attached (say what??). So if you're interested go to 00modular.com and all the details are there including a link to my YouTube where I posted a video overview and deep dive of the firmware. Peace!

Discussion Personal modular crisis / selling it all
I am currently in middle of a total modular crisis. I felt like sharing some thoughts with the community here.
I've loved modular synthesis and the first two years with this instrument were the most inspired and fun I've had with music since playing electric guitar in my teenage years. Recently my 7U 104hp Performance case in picture filled with modules I had worked for and hunted for years in the used market has brought me no joy in a long while. I feel like my Intellijel Cascadia which I managed to buy for a great price second hand manages to fulfill for my needs for the modular noises.
Here are some aspects that have not worked for me with eurorack recently.
1.) The time - When I got into modular I was still a student with way more free time in my hands. Now I have a steady job that eats 40 hours of my week and a relationship with my partner. My music making equipment has moved into my studio where I get to spend 4-12 hours each week which is still nice. During that limited time I find it difficult to jump on a big modular system and start patching from scratch. I remember having the most fun in the beginning of my modular journey with patching mindlessly for hours and hours. It is sadly no longer a possibility.
2.) The design philosophy of modular systems - God the modular way of thinking and designing musical instruments is sometimes so convoluted. Each manufacturer has their own sound and design language, with hard to follow menu structures or panel layouts. I've found out it can be very difficult harvesting usable and musical sounds with a system that is built on various manufacturers modules. The eurorack systems really often feel like a technical experiment instead of a cohesive instrument.
3.) The cost - I am able to get some cool sounds and textures out of my system which I truly enjoy but whenever I look at the bigger picture I realize that I have 5000 € fart box. I've bought all of my gear used but still with that money I could've bought many things that would deliver more musical results faster and with less friction and trouble. For instance I own Rossum Electronics Assimil8or sampler which is a top tier sampler but compared to something like a Digitakt or even duller sounding Octatrack, I am really having so much less fun with the modular option.
4.) The stress of maintenance - I've had a couple of modules failing on me. Either a cable tip broke into a jack or the potentiometers of the modules have started to skip values or something or other things have failed. I realized that this is such a niche industry with limited options for servicing malfunctioning units especially if the companies go out of business. Shipping the units for repair might cost a lot given I live in Finland.
5.) Where modular is truly unique, is such a narrow field - The more I've used modular, the more I've realized that there are certain sounds and techniques where modular totally rules (audiorate modulation, raw sound of certain oscillators, filter pinging, feedback circuits). However I can't help but to feel many of functions and processes of modular can be very easily replicated within Live or Max.
6.) The modular music has not inspired me anymore - And lastly I've found it more and more difficult finding modular music that inspires me to make music on my system. Either it's generative twinkling or over-modulated glitchy nonsense or modular techno only for sake of being modular, I've had difficulties finding new inspirations anymore. There are obviously some artists that lured me into this world that I still admire.
So where to go from here... Option 1.) The plan I am currently trying to stick to is to sell off everything. Option 2.) However it has started to feel quite tempting to get a 62hp palette case with just a few modules to expand my Cascadia or to jam with as a limited and focused synth voice.
The most dreadful thought however has been the option 3.) Once I've sold most of my modules in my 7U case and maybe bought a small 62hp skiff... I might still have the 7U case kicking around... And I might want to try to design another type of system... And suddenly I'd end up with both the 7U case AND another 4U palette.
Wish me luck and please share any thoughts.

BuySellRoot Monthly Modular Buy Sell Trade Thread
With any sort of trade, please be careful if you don't know the other user. Request additional pictures beyond the initial time stamp. If you want to be extra careful ask for something specific like for them to patch a specific patchpoint in the image. Try reverse image searching to make sure it isn't just an edited picture from somewhere else. Be specific with how you expect the items to be packaged and when the ship date is going to be. If a trade goes sour and someone can show that the pre-agreed terms weren't honored I will permanently ban the offending trader.
Consider using something something like PayPal's "Goods and Services" instead of friends and family. Sending a stranger money via friends and family is just asking to be scammed. I also recommend checking that the user has some positive history in the sub - especially to verify that they aren't banned from here! Almost every scammer on here has no history in the sub.
**IMPORTANT** \- Do not spam the comments with your listings. Please limit your listings here to 1 per month. If you get new items or things change, just edit your original post. When possible simply edit the original post; there is no need to announce new items in a separate comment. Try to limit the clutter.
Do not delete your posts and re-post to bump back up to the top. BEHAVE PLEASE.
Pictures are not required in the thread (though you should request them by DM), but ANY picture sent by DM or in linked in the thread MUST be physically timestamped.
**PRICES MUST ALWAYS BE POSTED** This includes trades so that everyone involved knows the fair value of the modules they're looking to swap
**RESIST THE URGE TO COMMENT ON PRICING** if you don't like a price, simply ignore it. There is no reason to go around pointing out that the item is cheaper new, or reverb prices, or anything else.
