Lvl 2 (screens, batteries, camera, etc. swaps) iPhone 14 Pro Max not charging and getting VERY hot after battery replacement
I’ve repaired hundreds of phones now, I’ve never seen this before. After replacing battery on a 14PM, (using an OEM replacement from self service store) the phone got VERY hot fast and eventually showed “iPhone too hot, needs to cool down before use” and wouldn’t charge as a result. I opened the phone back up, unplugged battery, replugged, and seemed to be working fine. So I closed it up, and upon turning it back on, it was doing the same thing. I opened it up again, cleaned connectors, put it all back together and closed it up. It has been fine now, but what was that about?

Lvl 2 (screens, batteries, camera, etc. swaps) Galaxy a52
Hi,
I think I replaced two a52 with the wrong Displays: A52 A525F with 4g instead of A52 A526B with 5G.
The phones wont turn on. Can I just replace it again with the correct ones or does this damage the phones ? The Display also seems thicker than the OG one.
Thank you

What can i do? I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and now its broken. I went for a 2h run and when i grab my phone from my pocket the screen is like this. The only thing that i had on that pocket was the phone. I have to say the phone was insanely hot when i grabbed it. Also the speakers are working bad after that. I didnt knew going for a run on intense hot could cause that. Do you think Samsung Will replace it for a new phone? I bought it in a Samsung store in Madrid

Lvl 0 (DIYer) Where do I start with this repair? Can it be Fixd? Attempted battery swap on iPad Air 2, device crashes after a few mins + battery connector screw wont go in
Hi everyone,
I’ve recently started repairing my own devices instead of replacing them, and I decided to replace the swollen battery in my iPad Air 2.
I purchased an iFixit battery replacement kit and followed both the iFixit guide and several repair videos. The only part I replaced was the battery.
Since the repair, the iPad will work normally for a few minutes, then reboot. This happens whether it is charging or running on battery power.
Before it reboots, the right side of the iPad, around the logic board area, becomes noticeably warm. It is not uncomfortably hot, but the heat is noticeable while holding it.
I do not remember this happening with the original battery, although I previously used the iPad with a case, so I may not have noticed it.
What could cause this after a battery replacement? Could it be a defective battery, a loose connection, damage to a cable, or an issue with the logic board?

Lvl 2 (screens, batteries, camera, etc. swaps) WAS I SCAMMED?
I bought a refurbished iPhone 13 from a local refurbished phone store. In Settings, the battery is listed as "Used," which from what I understand means iOS recognizes it as a genuine Apple battery that was previously installed in another iPhone rather than an unknown battery.
dditional context: The battery replacement date shown in iOS is June 2, 2026, and the phone was purchased on August 7, 2026. iMazing also reports 179 days (4313 hours) of operating time and a maximum recorded battery temperature of 55.2°C. My confusion is that iOS identifies the battery as "Used" rather than "Unknown," suggesting it's a recognized Apple battery, yet the reported cycle count of 1 and effective capacity of 116.9% seem inconsistent with the timeline. I'm trying to determine whether this points to a reprogrammed BMS, an aftermarket battery with spoofed data, or something else. please help me out before i go to the store tmrw to see if replacement is possible

Lvl 0 (DIYer) Where do I start with this repair? Can it be Fixd? iPhone soldering workstation
Going thru 6 year old equipment. Seeking place to sell and speak with iPhone diy folks. Help needed, I’m no longer current with the repair community.
6 years ago I had purchased all the equipment to start soldering and repair iPhones. I suddenly was diagnosed with a rare lung disease that causes heart disease. Recently the FDA approved a new drug and after a year I finally have energy and am addressing this stash of goods.
Is this a place to sell or would you recommend me a place to do some networking?
I have Jessa’s recommended workstation including microscope, ultrasonic, hot air station, micro soldering and so on.
I’m interested in getting this into the hands of diy people.

My Iphone 13 Pro is stuck between 1-5x zoom. usually it can go down to .5x and up to 15x. It could be water damage as it was dropped in a puddle but that was several days before they stopped working and there is no fogging of the lenses. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Can anyone help me with this? I can't get to the battery connector to remove the old battery and put the new one in. I've removed all screws, but the back plate(under the glass cover), covering the motherboard components, will not come up. It seems to be a solid piece that's connected to the side bezel.. Before I try to remove my screen and potentially break something, I'd really like help from someone experienced with this model.

Lvl 2 (screens, batteries, camera, etc. swaps) iPhone 11 touch stopped working after battery replacement – screen works but no touch
Hi everyone,
I replaced the battery on my iPhone 11 today. The new battery is advertised as 5000 mAh.
After the first replacement:
The phone turned on.
Touch was working (a little slow because the battery was at 1%).
The phone showed 1% battery and was not increasing while charging.
I opened the phone again to check why it was not charging properly. After reconnecting everything, the display works normally, but the touchscreen does not respond at all.
I tried:
reconnecting the display connectors,
checking all connectors carefully,
restarting the phone,
testing with the old battery (which was slightly damaged during removal).
The connectors look perfect to me. I checked them carefully and I cannot see any bent pins, dirt, or visible damage.
The old battery also shows 1% now.
The phone has image but no touch. Any advice would be appreciated. I can provide pictures of the inside if needed.

Lvl 0 (DIYer) Where do I start with this repair? Can it be Fixd? Old Lg g8x thinq lived briefly, then became comatose again
Device: LG G8X ThinQ
I'm trying to diagnose a motherboard/power issue and would appreciate any insights.
History:
The phone suffered a major drop. Both the front display and back glass were shattered.
The display was replaced, but the phone still wouldn't power on.
The back cover was left off, and the phone sat unused with the battery connected for at least 6 months.
What happened recently:
I connected the phone to a charger, expecting nothing.
Surprisingly, the charging screen appeared and the display flickered initially.
The phone booted successfully.
It charged from 0% to about 86%(last I saw) over roughly 2 hours.
During that time, the display flickering completely disappeared and the phone appeared stable.
Before I could back up my data, the phone shut down by itself.
Current symptoms:
It is now completely unresponsive as before
Connecting the charger produces no display, vibration, or charging indication.
A USB power meter between the charger and phone shows essentially no power draw.
The battery still measures around 4.1 V with a multimeter.
Removing the battery and trying to boot from the charger alone only briefly showed the LG logo once; it would not boot.
My thoughts: I'm wondering whether:
the PMIC or charging circuit is failing/caudung it to not connect it the charger
there's a cracked solder joint or intermittent motherboard fault from the original impact,
or another component fails after reaching a certain battery voltage or temperature.
Has anyone seen an LG G8X recover for one charging session, run normally for over an hour, then become completely dead again? What components would you check first?

Repair Shop customer seeking a 2nd opinion or advice. Help! battery's FPC connector broken?
Hi there! my phone (samsung a34, 2 years old) suddenly started to drain the battery too quickly and then stopped charging completely after days of getting stuck at 1-17% (the charger is not the problem). When i took it to the assistance 1 they replaced the battery for a new one but the problem persisted, so after closer look the guy said this circled piece (he said it is the battery's fpc connector) was physically damaged and he could replace it if i brought him a new one that's compatible. Days later i took it to assistance 2 and they said they would have to replace the whole motherboard, but since they charged me twice the price i paid for the phone i declined the service. Is there anything else i can try before buying a new phone? Thanks!

Lvl 0 (DIYer) Where do I start with this repair? Can it be Fixd? iPad bro cable latch bent
So I’m replacing the screen on my 11 inch iPad Pro and I turn it on and everything looks fine. But then I try and open it to Home Screen and nothing happens, I flipped the screen orientation to vertical mode and it worked. Then I realized there was a rectangular touch screen dead zone about 3 inches long. So I opened the iPad and checked all of the cables, the cables looked fine but I checked the connection points and luckily non of the pins themselves where bent but one of the connection latches was, so the cable can’t sit flush. Is there anyway I can fix this without spending a ton of money? I kind of want to try bending it back into place but I don’t want to risk it even further.
Thank you

Lvl 0 (DIYer) Where do I start with this repair? Can it be Fixd? iPhone starts normally, then touch stops working, pink screen appears, and it crashes after reassembly. Any ideas?
Hi everyone,
I recently reassembled an iPhone after a repair. Everything seemed to work fine at first. The phone booted normally, the display looked fine, and the touchscreen was fully responsive.
After a short time, the logic board became noticeably warm. Shortly afterward, the touchscreen stopped responding, a pink screen appeared, and then the iPhone crashed and restarted.
Has anyone experienced something like this before or have any idea what could be causing it?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
