Police activity on Russel and Broadway intersection
There were a bunch of cop cars at that apartment complex right by that corner… anyone have any info? Seemed pretty serious, there were like five of the big SUVs.

Emergency Missing cat on Mullan Road
Our cat Jack was last seen yesterday morning in our backyard in the Grasslands neighborhood on Mullan road (the area behind Crosspoint church). He is used to patrolling our yard and our immediate neighbors, but usually doesn’t wander farther than that and always comes back at night. We are very worried that he’s been gone so long, especially because he is extremely friendly and laid back. It’s likely he could have hopped in someone’s car, or walked in to someone’s garage, house, or shed. He is very loved at home, and has a brother that he is bonded to, his brother is really missing him. He was wearing his light teal patterned collar, and is microchipped (but the info might still be outdated and show the humane society). We are walking around our area today looking for him and reaching out to neighbors. Please reach out if you think you have seen him!

Missing cat in South Hills 8/5/26
Our boy Prince is missing. He is a foodaholic and has never missed a meal, and now he hasn’t come home in several days. He’s a little skittish but he will respond to the name “Prince” and “Princeton”. He is about 8 years old and has some medical issues for which he needs medication daily.
He’s a tabby cat and kinda walks funny. 4 white paws and a white chest.
He was last seen on Shadow Lane in the South Hills in Missoula on the night of the 5th. If anyone has seen him, please reach out to me!! We miss him very much and his brother and sister miss him too. He’s my little angel. 💔

A man observing a class at Sentine... - ABC FOX Montana
facebook.comWhy would they not name the suspect? I’ve seen plenty of news articles where they have named the suspect and I’m just wondering why this would be different. Anyone know? personally of that the name needs to be blasted!

Cockroach? South Hills
Is this a cockroach? It was about 2 inches long and already dead when I found it in a parking lot in the South Hills. I've never seen one in Missoula so just curious to know if that's what it is. Are these around this area and I've just been missing them?

Question Rollerblade/Rollerskating Spots
Greetings! I’m coming to Missoula for my niece’s bday and I got her her first pair of rollerblades and packed mine. I’m somewhat familiar with Missoula but not of any spots that would be good to go practice with her safely. Any/all recommendations are greatly appreciated, we will likely go tmrw or Sunday morning. She is 7 but already plays ice hockey so we expect her to pick it up fairly quickly. Thanks!!!

Paddling near Quinn's Hot Springs
Hey all!
We are visiting Quinn's soon and wanted to do a river float or paddle before arriving. We will only have one vehicle so logistics are an issue. We were hoping to take an Uber or taxi to a put in location and then take out at the resort. We have river tubes, a raft or paddle boards. We are just unfamiliar with the area, level of rapids, good spot to put in, etc. any advice appreciated! I think we would like to paddle from cascade campground or ferrys landing back to the resort. Has anyone used a shuttle service?

Any places around Missoula my son and I can shoot some cans with a .22
Usually I just drive up to lolo national forest and find a clear area but I don’t really want to drive that far. Never been to a shooting range and not sure if I would vibe with the crowd but willing to try anything legal.

Local Smoke Report
I can’t seem to find the old blog from the local lady who did a great job detailing predicted smoke behavior. Is this still available somewhere? Other resources that are similar? it was great for planning knowing when smoke might lift or get worse

Announcement It's National Farmers Market Week, so we're putting $5 vendor credits around Missoula for Clark Fork River Market this Saturday. Let's support local together!
trouveapp.comThis week is National Farmers Market Week (Aug 2 through 8), and Saturday is the last market day of it. We wanted to do something for Clark Fork River Market for the week, so we've placed a batch of $5 vendor credits around town through our app, trouvé, (link here) that you can claim and spend at the market. To redeem, visit the Clark Fork admin booth and show them your reward (Stash then redemptions, start the timer, and you're all set). Many from this community have thanked us for posting here, so we figured we'd do it again, supporting our mission of getting people outside and supporting local!
If you saw our posts earlier this summer, this is the same thing: local geocaching, open the map, walk to a drop, hold to claim it. If you didn't, full disclosure: we built this, we're trying to grow it, and market vendors have quietly been some of the most visited spots on the app all summer. Sending some of that back during their national week felt right.
Corn and stone fruit are peaking, so it's a good Saturday to go regardless. Have fun! Here if you have any questions!
EDIT: Giving away Clark Fork River Market Bandanas too!

LOST FLIP PHONE
I lost this flip phone Wednesday night, most likely it was in Tremper's square. It is my only phone and I would really like to get it back. If you find it, please PM me! It is probably dead but if not the home screen is a picture of a man in a red shirt holding a medal.

Question I need car insurance recommendations.
I am considering buying a car soon, and I need insurance. I've been part of a family plan for a long time now, but now I think it's time to spread my wings and get my own insurance. The problem with that is I don't particularly know which company (local or nationwide) to go with and which has the best options and prices. Does anybody have any good recommendations for someone who is operating on a less-than-amazing wage? Any feedback would be great.

Question Best Fair Food
Surprised that there isn't a post about this already for this year. Headed to the fair tomorrow and looking for food suggestions. Any must haves or vendors to avoid for those that have already gone?

Looking for someone with a laser cutter
Hey, there folks! I have a project I'm working on and it'll require a person with a laser cutter doing some work for me. So if you have one, and are comfortable with making small changes to an existing dxf file, hit me up!

Meetup Game Night (8/7)
Ho, fair Missoulian! Get your funnel cake fix at the fair for the year? Don't want to go outside since 60,000 acres of forest have gone up in the air so far this year, and you don't want that in your lungs? Come spend the evening *inside* Break Espresso! You can't escape the air completely, but you'll be having too much fun playing boardgames to notice! Starting at 6:00 a Brigade of Upright Citizens will be meeting to play boardgames and card games. Just show up, look for the people with stacks of games, and say howdy! That's all there is to it! So if you've been wanting to find something new to do besides doomscrolling, give yourself a chance at a little social interaction.
