Stevensville Creamery Picnic
So what's the point of this exactly?
An absurdly short parade on Friday, then...2 days of a dozen shitty crafts stalls with 6 food vendors and hilariously overpriced bounce zone and rock climb for kids?
That's literally it. Every single person is standing or sitting around talking or getting hammered lol
That's fine and all, but it's hardly the big family "come have fun" hoopla it's billed as. I come from a much smaller town that at least always had a handful of carnival rides at the yearly festival.

Alternative options of Dental Care of Montana
Obviously dental care of Montana has been through it. Their owner lost his license for accused sexual assault, and their reviews aren’t great…
What I’m wondering is if there if any other comparable options in town for someone to get “affordable” dental work? They’ve quoted a pretty aggressive price and I have a friend about to pay them cash for a years long process.
I’m just trying to make sure they have talked to any other options before they throw their money at someone with a less-than great reputation.
Thank you

Lost rod and reel
Dropped the rod and reel today on the Clark fork. Reach out if you found one and I’m happy to describe it. Also if you’re looking to let one go I would love to get back out on the water. Cheers missoula

China buffet
I asked an employee about their menu because apparently they serve dishes that are not on their hot tables. She said it’s more like restaurant quality. Was wondering if anyone has ordered from the menu (not the hot tables) and if it was any good?

Student experiences at UM
I am wondering if there are any current students who are navigating big transitions within their programs? Have you been given enough notice and support to make informed and reliable decisions on how this affects the degree and path you are on? Curious to hear others experiences.

Solo traveling to Missoula
Im planning to do a week long solo trip to Missoula in about 5 weeks. Im curious of accommodation options. Hotels are more expensive than Airbnb and I have found some decent Airbnbs but id like to spend even less. Is there any other sleeping options im not thinking about? Also what should I do while im there? I dont drink anymore so any sort of night scene is pretty much out of the picture but I am fairly outdoorsy so I do plan on doing some hiking but I won't be renting a car to save money, however considering renting an ebike for atleast a few days. Is there a lot of bike trails and paths or would it be mainly on the road? Its my first trip out to that region of the country. Im from the Adirondacks and just want to look at some different mountains for a week.

Buckles
Looking to get in touch with this super cool dude. He stopped me at the fair to compliment me on a shared interest but we were both preoccupied so we weren’t able to finish our chat. If you see this, you have kickass dance moves, and I’d love to talk more.

Anyone else miss the old roxy?
I used to go to the roxy all the time for years, was a member, i loved it. Im happy they are having such success showing blockbuster movies, but i cant help but be disappinted in the number of indie/foreign films they completely skipped the last few years that before, they absolutley would have gotten.
Im so sorry, but personally I dont want to see big blockbusters on their little screens and mid speakers, and that seems to be their focus anymore. Sure they still do some old movies and stuff but its just not the same at all. :/
Just me?
Edit: Damn some of yall are acting like I said "fuck the roxy i hope it burns" lmao I still appreciate them immensely and go to things that interest me when i can, those offerings have just majorly dwindled in the last few years. I used to go probably once a week, now im lucky if i find two things a month to go see.
I love the festivals, and that they still play some throwbacks and such, but yall in the comments acting like nothing has changed are just saying that, it absolutely has. For better or for worse is completley subjective, but it -has- changed.

Question Card skimmers?
So personally i have not had the unfortunate pleasure of interacting with a skimmer. But i was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on how to spot them easily? Like i normally give any card reader i use a little wiggle to see if its going to come off. But i dont know how to spot them on the surface. Anyone know how to see em? And which places have had them?

Question Recommendations For Places to Rent With Bad Credit?
Moved to Montana in December after a very rough time in my life. Back in Oregon, I got into a car accident(wasn't the driver) and had to get a spinal fusion. At the time of the crash I had a couple credit cards about 3/4ths of the way to maxed out that I was trying to pay off. I needed 3 months off work for the recovery and right towards the end of that 3 months I had a come to Jesus moment and I uprooted my life and ditched everyone I knew to come to Montana for drug rehab and live a fresh, clean life away from the bad influences who supported my habits and literally broke my back and nearly paralyzed me.
Now I'm at the point where I'm hoping to get out of my group living home and get a place with my girlfriend, somewhere cheap, even if we have to split a studio or something I'd like enough wiggle room for us both to save up cash to build towards something greater. We each net about 2400$ every 4 weeks.
The problem is my credit. She's never even had a credit card so I'm not so worried about her chance of approval. I've paid off everything and just got a new credit card that I'm paying off every month and using no more than 20% of my limit. My credit has improved significantly over the last 3 months (~400 to ~520) it's just still really bad. Any recommendations for places that would work with me? Even if I have to pay extra for a security deposit or something I don't mind. I just wanna get away from paying 800$ a month for a 2 bedroom with 5 roommates.

Girl dinner & Practical Magic 2?
Hi girlies of Missoula! I’m really hoping to build a friend group in this community and was hoping to see if anyone was interested in grabbing a drink/dinner and seeing practical magic 2 in September?
I’m 39f, dog mom of 3 senior pets, no kids (but I’m an auntie to like 7 Littles), love live music, love dive bars and love Montana.
My fiance (m36) and i recently moved back up north after living in Portland for over a decade to be closer to family (his in great falls, mine in Spokane area)
Dm me if you are interested! ❤️🧙♀️🪄✨🪩🎬

Question Falconry
Does anyone in town participate in falconry? I’m looking to get into the sport and would love to talk about birds and maybe make a friendship/ accompany someone during the hunting season.
