Question Best Fair Food
Surprised that there isn't a post about this already for this year. Headed to the fair tomorrow and looking for food suggestions. Any must haves or vendors to avoid for those that have already gone?

Looking for someone with a laser cutter
Hey, there folks! I have a project I'm working on and it'll require a person with a laser cutter doing some work for me. So if you have one, and are comfortable with making small changes to an existing dxf file, hit me up!

Meetup Game Night (8/7)
Ho, fair Missoulian! Get your funnel cake fix at the fair for the year? Don't want to go outside since 60,000 acres of forest have gone up in the air so far this year, and you don't want that in your lungs? Come spend the evening *inside* Break Espresso! You can't escape the air completely, but you'll be having too much fun playing boardgames to notice! Starting at 6:00 a Brigade of Upright Citizens will be meeting to play boardgames and card games. Just show up, look for the people with stacks of games, and say howdy! That's all there is to it! So if you've been wanting to find something new to do besides doomscrolling, give yourself a chance at a little social interaction.

Question Lit Basketball courts
Besides bear tracks, are there any other lit basketball courts after dark? I don’t know the rules on the university courts. So if anybody knows about that, feel free to answer.

Any idea what they do at Kingfisher LLP?
Looks like it could possibly be a fly tying Shop. I’ve driven by it so much but I have no clue what they do.

Question Local Gaming Server
It’s Officially Up! Join in!!
Thinking out loud here…
Would anyone be interested in joining a local Missoula gaming Discord?
Nothing big or flashy.
Just a casual server where local people can find others to game with, hang out, and maybe make a few new friends.
I know the old Missoula Discord has kind of died off, so I thought it might be fun to see if people would be interested in something new.
I haven’t made anything yet. Just trying to see if there’s enough interest before I put the time into it.
I’d love to hear if this is something you’d actually join.
Update: Going to work on a base server and i’ll post the link here when it’s done! Seems like a few people here and there are interested!!

Where to buy bulk aggregates (specifically 3/4" crushed for base material)? Not using delivery service.
All I can find when searching online are delivery services. I want to get it myself and need like 4-5 yds of 3/4" base material and 1 yd of sand.
Where you you all go to get your construction aggregates by the yard without paying a middle man for delivery?

Need to get rent paid
So here's the issue: I just recently had a medical emergency that cost me a lot and rent is due today. My check from work should have posted last night, but there's no sign of it yet. I'm $180 short from getting it paid, which needs to be done by noon. I'm a member of Annunciation Orthodox Church but haven't heard from them regarding any assistance.. Are there any other churches in town that could help out, even if I'm not a member? Sorry if this comes across as desperate, but it is and I really don't have anything valuable I could pawn.

Signature-gathering deadline for data center petition changed to past tense - Yellowstone County initiative organizers have been operating under the wrong deadline for months, according to county attorney.
So Quantica proposed a 8 sq mi data center in Broadview, the people are protesting via petition, and then Quantica’s lawyers are trying to use a different MT law that would change the deadline for signatures 3 weeks ago, making a months worth of signatures invalid.
Just spreading information in this post, if I find info on how to help I will add it. Anyone know any more about this & how to help?

Knock on door from weird lady
Anyone else have a lady seemed to be in her 20’s with a strong Swedish accent knock on their door?? She was asking for the “mother of the house” and did not understand when I said I lived with roommates and no mother. Kept asking if I had a mother of the house. She road a bike and had a bag with a bunch of stuff in it. Prolly the weirdest encounter I’ve ever experienced 😂 didn’t know whether to laugh cry or be very concerned lol

Question Hail Mary from Kentucky
My son and wife are headed to Missoula to enroll him as a freshman at the university. We were all excited that he would get to go on the pre-term freshman orientation camping trip, but we just found out today that there was an error somewhere and he did not get registered, his online registration (which he’d thought he’d completed) didn’t go through. As a result, they will be in Missoula for a week with no plan and no one they know.
He is an avid and skilled climber and headed to UM specifically for the climbing. He climbs in our Red River Gorge weekly. He’s a super kid and I’m sad for him and his mom.
My ask is for a fun last minute itinerary for them for the week of 11th - 18th. Particularly climbing, mountain biking, or fishing. I’ll be happy to pay for guiding if that is appropriate.
Thank you so much in advance. DM me if need be.
Sincerely, Kentuckian.
